Hi All, brought Littlefoot to my office today, needed help with the filing thought he could eat some for me :P and was looking at old Ugobe's pleo videos & there is a video Clip, where Caleb, is giving a tour of the offices, and at the end there is a tech doing object detection with pleo, so I thought I would do some tests of my own - I noticed that if I put a yellow post-it paper, in front of him he gets very playful :D at first I thought it was just a random thing, so I tried different colours, pink, blue he sniffs those colours and steps back, green he wants to eat but when I show him yellow he starts acting like a playful puppy, not sure if any of your Pleo's do the same. Very curious to find out as it is very unusual, and very cute ;D

That's an awesome observation! ;)
I'm going to put those tests on the top of my to do list. :)

Yes, I too will try and give you my analysis tonight!
-
I am going to try this and I'll let you know the results also. This is exciting, this is as technical as I dare to get!

Glad we're in the same boat! :-P

I will try this with my little dinos. I know for sure Peeky likes red. He always goes to the red chair no matter what else is around.
-
cool cant wait to hear your feedbacks ;D
-
Wow that's really cool! I'm gonna try that the next time I have a little free time :) *Adds to To Do list*

I think I'm having brain problems. :O I swear I just posting in this thread but my post isn't here...
Anyways, I'll give this a shot and see what happens!

I tried some experiments today with colored paper stuck on the wall. I did take some video but it is pretty long and boring :P So I will just post my findings. I did two tests per color per Pleo. I did not turn them off between tests and I kept them separate during the test. The reactions listed are the ones immediately after both Pleo's 'sniffed' the color. Both Pleo's were fed on request and petted on request throughout the experiment ;)
Orange Test 1- Lilo backed away, Stitch growled at it (angry growl not playful growl.) Test 2- Stitch backed away, Lilo became upset.
Yellow Test 1- Lilo sang to it, Stitch did playful crouch on front legs and wagged tail in air. Test 2- Stitch sang, Lilo made happy barking noises.
Green Test 1- Lilo ate, Stitch ate. Test 2- Lilo ate, Stitch mooed.
Blue Test 1- Stitch backed away, Lilo ignored it. Test 2- Stitch backed away, Lilo ignored it.
Red Test 1- Lilo backed away, Stitch ignored it. Test 2- Lilo back away, Stitch became upset.
White Test 1- Lilo ignore it, Stitch ignored it. Test 2- Lilo said hello, Stitch ignored it.
Black Test 1 & 2- Sniffed then ignored on all accounts.
Based on these limited tests I would say that Pleo's in general do not care for warm colors (reds/oranges), they like greens, blue is unconfirmed, they like yellows and black and white are pretty neutral.

Your tests are great IMR. I will have to do this with my little dinos. So far I'm sure Peeky likes red. He sure knows where the red chair is. Pennie seems to like the neutral shade of beige. She ends up going to a wall whenever she's roaming around the floor. J.C. definitely like green. A creature after my own heart! ;D

Great test work, ladies!
-
Great work ;D, littlefoot did the same to the yellow colour went all playful crouching on his front legs and wagged his tail in the air :D
-
Macon kinda likes blue :) He hates yellow, though! He growled at it and backed away!
-
There are really too many variables and too much individuality to reach a definite conclusion :) Each Pleo will have their own style :)
-
IMR is probably right. ;)
Stoney goes mad for yellow and then goes for a stroll. ???
He shows no real reaction for other colors introduced so far. ^-^
