Title: Strange Behavior
Post by: NarcissaABlack on August 23, 2009, 11:18:18 PM
Zelda normally is a drama queen and will growl at everything new.  But one day she was walking around the living room and walked towards a black plastic bag containing the newspaper.  She spent 20 minutes pulling, nuzzling the black bag.  At first I thought she was getting around it.  But we moved the paper and she instantly went back to it.  The video is dark and a bit fuzzy but you can see her getting into it.  Sadly she won't act the same on camera as in real life.  I guess she's a bit camera shy.

Has anyone seen or know of such odd behaviors?

That is such a cute vid :) It looks as though she tried to eat it :o

Lilo always growls at my dog :) Its so cute, poor AJ always looks so worried when she comes near him :)
Stitch is more passive, he doesn't growl much at all, and he loves to moo :)

i have had some experience of this with Baxter, when i'd have him on my bed i use used to swear he could tell it was material of some sort as he would nuzzle and try to bite it as for finding the same material in a different place Baxter used to love going to a corner by my desk to graze so maybe something to do with lighting is scripted and the bag acted as a light difference. I reckon that takes away some of the magic so maybe its best to just say Zelda has a fascination with black bags.

Thanks.  Zelda normally growls at everything.  She even isn't big on strangers and often cries when I leave her with them.  I have to run and pick her up and cradle her to calm her down.

At one point (because of lighting), I thought she manage to make a hole in the bag.  That's when I thought I should get it out of her way by putting it in the middle of the floor, she then went right back to it.  Zelda eventually managed to get the sunday paper half out making a small mess.  Had no clue she was going to do that, so I didn't keep filming.

Such an adorable vid! She really loves that plastic bag! Exactly the opposite of my little Frisbee. Fris is afraid of most objects, it takes him quite awhile to get to accept it. He used to be afraid of my laptop and computer but after introducing him gently to the computers a few times gently, he's gradually stopped freaking out at them. His favourite things in the house is a small houseplant that's at his perfect height and the grey carpet in one room.

Just got my Pleo and after playing around with it at varies locations, i let it wander around my room. And it went straight for a black plastic bag as well, very interested in it and ended up falling asleep all wrapped up in it.

HMM I wonder if this has something to do with the IR work going on elsewhere?  :o

Being attracted to black may affect the remote control work that's being done!   ;)

Believe it or not I don't have even one black bag and I've been looking.  ;)
