Who likes pie and what kind do you like the best
-
The Australian Meat Pie ;) Sargents Premium of course :o With BBQ 'dead orse' lol.
-
Mine has to be chocolate cream pie, followed by banana cream. followed by lemon cream. Then bring on the berry pies! ;D
-
Key lime, lemon merangue, or choco cream. ;)
However, I like almost all pies.....
-
peach pie is the only pie i like :)
-
It's a toss up between Key Lime or Pecan. ;D
-
You might be on to something there, 49er.
Nothing beats a really tart cool slice of key lime on a hot summer day, or warm piece of pecan pie (made with Kentucky bourbon) on those cool autumn nights! Mmmm! We pick the pecans fresh from local trees. No key lime trees around here, though.
-
For me, pecan pie is something you have in winter, while it's still piping hot.
Key lime is an autnumn-ish sort of thing to me, but it can be eaten and fully enjoyed any season.
Lemon merangue is just any time, any where. Period. But if it's storebought, it can taste hideous!!!
Bluberry isn't my fave, but it seems traditional to me and if I have a choice between blueberry and several other "basic" pies I'm always for the blueberry!
-
You peeps have... odd pies :P We would call all those tarts (except lemon meringue pie) and the choc cream one we call a cheesecake :P
-
tart, really? that's so wierd lol. we have tarts, but all the ones they listed are called pies. hmmm i wonder why it's different

I've had fresh Texas pecans and they are the best. All the "pecans" here in California taste more like walnuts. :P

Lemon square tarts are addicting. :3
-
I like apple pie and pumpkin pie.

i'm with you there, almost anything sweet is called a tart here in England, and we have stuff like "steak and kidney pie" which is very much a meal (it doesn't taste too great though :( )
-
Yup thats where we got our pies from, I like a good meat pie, but you can keep the steak and kidney *shuddder*... now a nice rich kangaroo pie, thats a whole 'nother story ;) Game pies are a league of their own :)
-
Kangaroo Pie??? :o
-
Kangaroo is fast gaining popularity here, it is very very lean (almost no fat at all, less than lean pork and chicken) and it is approved by the Australian National Heart Foundation because of the health benefits it provides. Although once it was only eaten by adventurous gourmets these days you can buy it from any supermarket. We have Kangaroo sausages (Kanga Banga's), roo mince, roo pies, roo roasts, roo steaks etc etc etc on quite a regular basis. Who knows, one day you might see it over there :)
-
ImR, I understand that Australia has a problem with wild camels. That the authorities are looking at different ways to cull the herd. So you not only may have 'roo pie available, but perhaps a nice camel pie too. *Wonders if it would come with a hump* ;D
-
Sure, just like with tea!
Diner: "I'll take the camel pie."
Waiter: "Very good, sir. Will that be one hump or two?"
-
Lol ;D Well many cultures have eaten camel and used camel milk over the centuries... It wouldn't kill you... :P
-
I can just see it now. A McRoo burger! ;D
-
I think I'll hop on over to Micky D's and order me one of those McRoo burgers. If I'm too early I can just get a Joey McGriddles for breakfast. Ah, and who can resist a McDouble Boomer Burger or Shila McNuggets. And a pouch pie (note name of thread,) for dessert. It's hard to wait until they arrive in California. I'm almost ready to buy a dinghy so I can row to Australia and taste these delectable morsels! 8)
-
*dies laughing* Awesome :)
Our Mc D's has a comp on at the moment to name the next burger I am so going to send in the Mc Double Boomer Burger idea LOL!
-
I like apple pie and pumpkin pie.
^-----We're on the same page. Pumpkin is to die for.... but apple is also good! ;-P
Oooh, and I make a mean shepherds pie!
-
It's bad enough making pies out of kangaroos, but making them out of shepherds?!? Isn't that illegal? ;)
-
I change my mind. my favorite kind of pie is a cow pie that I get to slap into the local bully's face. ^^

Is that pie fresh or seasoned? Hmmmm? Also would you consider that a savory pie like the non American English speakers or sweet like here in the US? %)

I don't know if using shepherds is illegal or not, but as there aren't many shepherds left they should be listed as an endangered species! :o
