Title: Your opinion wanted: stars and colors
Post by: grumpy on July 08, 2009, 10:42:56 PM: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who really cares. I know. It's kinda silly/ But in a while, I'm gonna have to do something. So I might as well ask.

Below everyone's name on the left side of every post, are some stars. For the most part, the more you post, the more stars you get. That, and as you post more and more, the stars upgrade from silver to gold to green. We've more or less set a precedence from the beginning of having a maximum of five stars. And green (for pleos) being the highest color value. (See the topic Seeing Stars (http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=127.0) for a full description.)

But as the forum continues, some members are moving into the top rung of stars and colors, so sooner or later I'm going to have to either add more stars or more colors, or both.

So, what's your opinion? As people post more, shout we go to six, seven, eight or more stars? Should we add another color after green?

And, last (but not least), they progress from being a member, tro being a full member to being a senior member. What comes after a senior member? Really Old member? Jurassic member? Super member? NTGAL member? (That's "needs to get a life" ;) )

And instead of continuing with stars and colors which will indefinitely get messy, you ought to have like a '600 post' trophy icon that fits under your name or something. And instead of adding numerous trophies, they just change their appearance accordingly.

You could make five stars a "General" or an "Admiral". ;) "Really Old Member"? Already there. I do like "Jurassic Member". But this is fancyfonts fault, although Burberry016 is coming up fast on the outside. :o

Oooh you could start of as a singled celled 'creature' and 'evolve' into finally becoming a Pleo %) Ie: Single celled critter, ammonite, trilobite, hynerpeton, gorgonopsid, placerias, liopluerodon, stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, mammoth, saber tooth tiger, early hominid, man, Pleo etc etc etc :P

In any case, I vote we get more colors. There's a lot more room for those than more stars. and Jurrassic mamber sounds awesome. :)

And you've only posted 106 times and you got a bunch of red stars! CHEATER!

O.K., after Senior member, We're going to have one final membership level: Jurassic member.

We're gonna stick with no more than five stars.

But we will add another color. Members go from silver to gold to green, Blue and red are reserved for moderators and the admin. So what color should come next? Purple? Orange? Dark green? Brown? Rainbow? White? Sparkling?
