Title: aging process?
Post by: Burberry016 on June 21, 2009, 08:12:29 PM
Ugobe used the excuse that when Pleo's skin fades from the friction of petting him, this was like real life as aging will wear down a real living creature.  I think this is bull****.  It was probaby an excuse, because I can believe that they wanted to make it fade a little, but then why do I see the brown skin again under the green?  Does anybody agree?

P.S.:  UGOBE I am not knocking you down.

Myself, I always interpreted those comments as being said with some humour, I never felt the issue was being denied or joked away. Didn't later pleos even have some extra coating or something to reduce the wear?

that's what people have said, but i got one right before Pleoworld went down and Ugobe was basically gone and mine has no special protection. I haven't seen any that have it either. The only difference is color because they haven't been worn down yet

And I got Maxwell just lastweek and his skin has no pretection coat on him.  So that isn't real.

Yup my Stitch came with the protection on his back. It is quite possible that the one you bought recently was simply old stock and may have been sitting around for quite a while. Australia sold completely out of Pleo's and had to order in a new shipment just before Ugobe went which is perhaps why I got one with the skin protection.
