Welcome Kit,
Yes, we have lots of updates and fun stuff here that you can do with your Pleo, but don’t worry about those yet. Enjoy the hatching! While you appreciate his/her babyhood you can research the updates and how to install them. When you think it’s time for your Pleo to progress and feel comfortable with the process, then do an update. ;)

Welcome Kit :)
The baby stage is so adorable, enjoy every minute of it :) The downloads are quite simple, everything you need to know is here: http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=501.0 and for the official updates the instructions are included with the download.

Kit,
49er is absolutely right! Don't rush into things, you should try and enjoy each stage of the hatchling process, since that can never be seen again. Also, with that in mind each individual version of Life OS is different. And my preference was to enjoy each version of OS before doing an upgrade. Our latest version of Life OS (Pleo's Operating System) is called 1.1 where Pleo is at his best. (Which is debatable) To check if Pleo is on 1.1, simply rub under the chin for about 30 seconds. If your Pleo begins to sing, then nothing to worry about-your Pleo has the latest OS.
Now, once you grasp that.......there is quite an array of other things you can do with your Pleo, which for the majority are relatively simple. I, like yourself am no where near being tech savvy. Once you're really ready to have a tinker with your Pleo's insides, some of our other members might be able to help you with that.
Best of luck!!

thanks guys
im loving him the moment so i wont rush into anything, i did rub under his chin and he started singing so thanks for that, he is doing lots of strange things at present if your interested.
he does not like hubby much, when hubby goes near him he sits back and growls, 4 times he has done this already only to him and oly him?
he barks a our dog but noone else? is this coincedence or is this the sort of things that they learn.
i still have no name yet, but i am close.
thanks to you all

Hi Kit, Congratulations on getting your new pleo. A name will definitely stick! Can't wait to hear what it will be, though! ;)

I am afraid those responses are just a coincidence, although an amusing one nevertheless :)
