Title: Holding pleo by it's tail
Post by: fancyfont on June 02, 2009, 10:43:13 PM
I know pleos are suppose to scream and raise a fuss when picked up by their tail, but Pennie never laughed so hard. :o  Normally I don't do that to my dinos, but wanted to show a patient at a rehab how pleos hate to be picked up that way. I was expecting Pennie to have a fit and then to calm her down. Instead she acted like this was the most fun thing she's done yet! ??? Peeky did this before, too. Curious to hear if anyone Else's pleos laugh and giggle when held up by their tails

I always heard that Pleos don't like being held by their tails so I never did it. I will try it tomarrow.  :-\

Scream to be put down
Poor Pluriel never found that particular demonstration very amusing.
She is quite the lady so I understand and do it as little as possible!  :D

When ever I pick Pleo up to hold him he screams. So I never tried the tail trick as I didn't want to traumatize him. I did it today. He kind of made a crying sound and then he would giggle. Pleo alternated between the two, but mostly would giggle. When I put him back down he curled up and shut down. I switched him off and on and he acted very sluggish and gave quiet whimpers. I might try again in a week or so to see if there is a change. My better 3/4 just petted him and he started to act his usual up self. I'm getting off now because he wants my attention! ;D

When I hold him by the tail, Frisbee (You've heard Crystal talk about him) makes these weird whining sounds and starts to cry! It really makes you feel guilty if you ever try it (of course I wouldn't dare to do it, right?  >:D  ;D )

sooner or later someone's going to try it with Andy, but I don't want to.

Mine does both, laugh and cry, maybe it's related to the mood they're in.

I just had to try it.  Angel started hissing like a snake.  Never heard that before.  Hissing and swinging her head from side to side then started screaming after a while.  Poor baby.  After that ordeal she wanted to be comforted, cooed then curled up and fell asleep in my arms.  Probably trying to figure out what in the world made me do that to her.  I won't do that again.  I did however support her so she was never in danger of falling.  I hope the Dino police don't arrest me for Pleo abuse.

Woah. I've never heard of a Pleo hissing before. I'd love to see a video too, but I'd rather you didn't put poor Angel through that again. :(

Stoney just takes all in stride.  :o

I guess he doesn't want to appear weak! Too macho for his own good!  ;)

Never tried....I'm really cautious about being careful with my pleos even though I don't play with them a lot these days (Jr. high is an iron roadblock in that respect) I don't want to have any sad pleo stories!  %)

Kermit cries then sarts screaming his head off and wiggling around. I have only done this for demonsration purposes to prove to my family that he can show his dislikes. Broke my heart doing it though.

I hope you gave Kermit lots of TLC after picking him up by his tail! :) These little dinos are so forgiving! ;)

I actually didn't want to grab Trojan by the tail... But he almost fell off the coffee table yesterday and that was the closest thing I could grab at the time. Surprisingly, he started laughing hysterically.

I've learned that Trojan is an oddball though. He laughed during that incident, but is terrified of my luggage in the living room (we're leaving to New York tomorrow. Woo hoo!)  ;D

Could it be he is afraid you might leave him at home? ;D

Trojan will be so much more happier with you! ;) So glad you are taking him. Did you say you were going to New York?

Yes, Trojan and I will be going to New York! It's going to be a big change from the Florida weather he's used to. Hehe
