Title: Hello!
Post by: Farseeker on May 27, 2009, 04:20:27 PM
I've just joined the ranks of pleo owners. I've been wanting one for ages but as a student I've not been able to justify the price cost. However, some friends of mine spotted one at their local Harvey Norman store marked down to $250 because of a small hole in the skin on his tail. They were nice enough to let me know and I'd just unexpectedly come into that exact amount so I decided it was fate and got them to buy it for me and send it over.  :D It finally arrived yesterday!

The hole in the skin is quite small, and I think a funky bandaid will look quite nice on it. He/she (haven't decided yet) will be called Jammer in honour of my awesome friends (John and Tam).

My question is this - the reason he has a split in the skin in the first place was he was originally the store's demo version. As such, he's on demo mode. Do I need to do the complete reset or just update him to 1.1 to go through the whole initial waking up period?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Oh, and by the way - when I first work Jammer up she blinked, stretched - and then spent five minutes nuzzling my leg. Love, I tell you.  :-*

Welcome Farseeker and Jammer!  I'm not sure about setting pleos back, but I'm sure your question will be answered shortly. Lot of knowledgeable people around here. It sounds like love at first sight. Lucky little dino to have found a home.  :)

I tried the reset script out and it worked like a charm. I have Jammer sitting on my belly wagging his tail at me and nuzzling my arm at the moment. It's quite amazing watching how he moves in response to touch. I think my brother is secretly a little taken with him too haha. Of course, when my parents see him I'm sure they won't be too impressed, but he's not for them now is he?  ;D

Awww welcome to the club of Pleo lovers ;) Be careful though, Pleo's are addictive ;)

My dad wasn't too keen on Pleo to begin with either, but then my first Pleo walked up to his foot, sniffed his sock and went "ewwww" he's been hooked since :P
