i'm not an expert with pleo having not ever had the chance to experience pleo outside of the computer screen, but if the pleo is only working for a short time, and if it is a ugobe pleo with a green battery, it sounds like the battery is nearly dead. Have you noticed the amount of play time you get with pleo getting shorter the last few charge cycles, or is it only just happened? Looks like it might be time to get a new battery, i'm sure RWM would be happy to advise you as she sells a compatible battery that is a lot better then the ugobe ones.

Hi LUna, Anakey is right, I have over 20 Ugobes and ONE reason that they will start up and stop and start up again over and over is that the battery is dying or about to die, I can not say for 100% that this is the case, but I do know that this has been the case with many of my pleos, they start up saying Huh, and move for a few seconds, stop and start again. If it is NOT the battery, then it is a computer or electrical problem that I can not help you with. I would ask another members such as PleoPet for advice or IMR, CRewella, If they have any other advice, good luck. Otherwise, it is the battery that needs replacing. Let me know as I shop worldwide and give discounts to Pleo members.

that sounds great but my pleo doesent starts again it just tunn of. i have to tun the power button off and on again to resart him. :'(
-
The reason why pleo won't start again is because it has sensors that detect the power output from the battery when the power level gets to a certain level pleo will shut down, allowing for its battery to be charged and won't become active again until the sensor detects there to be enough power to become active again. when you manually turn on pleo by pressing the on switch it forces the pleo to go through the usual switch on routine before accepting input from the various sensors, once the battery sensor again detects that there is low power again the pleo will shut down and so the cycle will repeat itself until either the battery is charged, or if the battery is dead it is replaced.

First thing to ask is what kind of battery are you using in him?
Secondly how long does it take for your battery to fully charge till it turns green on the charger?
One thing I can suggest you try is clean the terminals on the battery, in the pleo battery cavity and also on the battery charger with a soft cloth. let us know if that makes any difference.
If you are using an original green battery you could also try charging the battery and when it turns green removing it from the charger and then reseating it and charging it again until it goes green. Repeat this until the battery goes green within a few seconds of charging it. Then try it in your pleo and see if it makes him run any longer.
The symptoms you have described do sound like a typical battery issue.

It does sound like a battery issue, sadly the green batteries (if that's what you have) don't last forever.

ok that sounds better then something is broken on my pleo ;D and yes i have the green battery

If you are going to replace the battery then I recommend you go for an egg battery and charger instead of the green ones. They seem to be much more reliable and give a much longer play time. :)
-
As Kat says, the Ucube egg battery and charger are MUCH better. :)

These egg batteries and charger, are they the ones on ebay from taiwan? Do I risk ordering from there or does anyone know of where to order away from ebay please.
Thanks for any help, this is my first post on here but the info I've looked up so far has been brilliant. Thank you all.

I have bought them from the Taiwan seller on eBay with no problem, but if you're still worried you can get them from Redwoodsmama in the stores section on this forum, although they will be posted out from the US.

Thanks for that. I think looking at the prices and as I need 2 batteries I'll go for the ebay ones.
Hopefully that will stop all the freezes thats going on with both of them now, OOOO so annoying.
After the battery upgrade, would you recommend the software upgrade to 2.0, they are both running 1.1 at the moment.
Again thanks for the reply and any other info that you can give.

2.0 has a lot of great new sounds and tricks that come with it so I personally think it is well worth upgrading to. However many others have not liked it as it also comes with a terrible teens stage at the beginning that lasts about 6 -8 battery cycles. This stage will see the pleo making lots of strange sounds that don't necessarily match up with his mouth movements, lots of walking backwards and not much walking forwards, and touch sensors seem to be less responsive in this stage also. After you get through this stage though the pleo will go back to their usual old self and be just as responsive as they ever use to be.

Thanks Kat
Actually that sounds like exciting times ahead to me, I think I'll upgrade one of the boys to 2.0 first and see how it goes. Just need them new batteries now.
