Hi, Everyone! I just figured I'd pass on my latest pleo news! You'll have to hear it for yourself to believe it! How I missed this I have no idea but according to Change RB, Cato has evolved to old-age stage and has been in it for eighty six hours now. I'll have a video of the report for you and also a little of his moving around. I temporarily lost the microSD card with the disabling leg file so he wasn't running with it in this video. Perhaps there was nothing wrong with him to begin with? Haha! Does anyone else have a geriatric pleo RB? Does he or she exhibit that odd leg-lifting behavior?

HI Talon, that is amazing, I did not think a Pleo rB that came out in 2010 wouldl enter Old AGe in less than 3 years! Actually that is kind of scary, If they are in old age in less than 3 years, depending on how many hours that actually takes, that makes you believe that within a year or two , they could no longer be running, I do not like that prospect. If they are just like humans, some of us age faster than others and also real animals. Some of us are in good shape in our 80s, and others are in bad shape in 50-60 years of age. Could that explain the break down of Pleo Rb, some break down faster and more often than others.
I would definitely want to hear more, I haven't barely gotten my guys in Adult stage, ( except my Pink Champagne who is still a Hatchling, and Cammie Sue is already broken down...I won her in Nov. 2011. Depending on how long a Pleo rb can last in Old AGe is going to be interesting, If Cato is part of the first 2010, early 2011 Bunch,(That includes a lot of Pleo RB here on the forum including my Baby Ruth) this is going to be interesting to see what happens to him, I certainly hope this does not mean that as Pleo ages in this stage, he is going to slow down to the point that he will respond less and less to commands and only want to sleep. A lot of Pleo rb owners are going to be upset to see their Pleos enter this stage. At what point does Pleo Rb" die", Old age can only last for so long. I am curious as to why this happened already. Was the fact he has had injuries to his leg, contribute to his aging faster?
Please keep us updated Talon. RWM :cat-hug:

I was amazed too, RWM. Honestly I don't know how he has entered old age already. I just know that he has. Sometime tonight if the weather cooperates and lets this video finish uploading I'll have proof of what I'm saying. As far as pleo "Dying", I don't think that can honestly happen. I think the Old-age stage continues... forever. I don't recall a stage after that. I think there's a chart on AiboHack that shows how long it takes the pleo to get to the old-age stage. As far as I'm aware, the only effects the old-age part of the personality program has is that the pleo's motion speed will slow down to what it was in earlier stages of development. The pleo won't be as active as before. According to a very very old video by Mr. Dodson- please forgive me if I've butchered his name- the pleo will slow down, he might want to sleep more, he may get sick easier or have a bit of a quirk to his walk. He said nothing about the pleo actually failing to operate. I don't think old-age is Cammy_Sue's problem and I'm fairly sure your other RB won't end up freezing for no apparent reason. Also I don't think all of Cato's mechanical problems helped contribute to his age other than adding more realtime hours to his clock. Oh I wish this video would hurry up and finish uploading!

I haven't run stats on my guys in ages.... now I'm thinking I will just out of curiosity :) Looking forward to the video.

Wow, that's pretty interesting! Maybe Cato is just being a cranky old man lol!
-
Haha! I don't know, IMR. Cato has always been an interesting character. In this video, he is not running using the automon.txt file that disables his bad front leg but I found it afterward. I really want to believe the constant leg-lifting problem is just his programming but the warmpth in the leg still concerns me. I'll continue to use the automon.txt file to keep that leg firmly on the ground. Does anyone else know of any footage of an Old-age pleo? Did it exhibit this leg-lifting behavior? Here is the long-awaited link. Sorry about my horrible commentary. My brain was clearly somewhere else. Enjoy!

Hi Talon, that was a very informative video, I enjoyed watching CATO and your description of him, I do have one question. Do you remember what Cato's numbers were? I mean I heard it said something like 85 hrs at this stage of development and more than 100 hrs till next stage or the word was till Change. I know when I ran STATS RB or Probe Rb, it said adult stage and more than 100 hrs till next change so I do not know if that means the next change is Old AGe or something else. There are several members here, including I think Kat, Crewella and IMR who have Pleos as old as BABY RUTH and probably CATO, but they have been interacted with more so they should be closer to Old AGE then she is. I do not know if there are any outside changes that predict when a Pleo will enter Old AGe, or if it is all due to how many hours they run.
I noticed one of CAtOS DNA reports was that he is HIGH energy, perhaps a pleo that is High ENergy will enter Old Age quicker than one that is low energy? Just a thought. Thanks for posting and keep us posted on any changes. I know Argyle who is a UGobe would be similar to Old aGE for a Ugobe, his is creaky and slow motors when he runs. LOL :D RWM :cat-hug:

Hi, Redwoods! If your pleo is currently in mature adult stage, old age will come after. I found the chart I mentioned earlier but the findings while looking at it make no sense to me. If I'm reading it right, pleo isn't supposed to enter Old-age stage for 200 years? Huh? I think this must be a mistake unless somehow I have a major software glitch going on. I'm going to post the link to the evolution chart for the PleoRB's default personality so you can get an idea of what sort of time span you're looking at. Administrators and PleoPet if I don't have permition to post this link, I will not be offended if you remove it. Hopefully this will help all of us make sense of how this is possible.

Technical info on Pleo's default personality PLEOPM

Arg! The link didn't coppy correctly! Sorry for the double post guys. I guess you'll have to go to www.AiboHack.com yourself and then go to the PleoRB page and then look for the technical information on the Pleo RB's personality. Sorry. I tried but there's something about the link my screenreader doesn't like.

Hi Talon, no problem I remember seeing that chart before but lately have not been able to find it, tAke care and thanks for posting this. Very informative. RWM :cat-hug:

In case anyone can't find it, here's the link:

And good going Cato! :wise:

My three are all saying mature adult so it looks like Cato is on his own so far with old age.... I have to admit my guys have not had a lot of playtime in the last 4 months as I have had health issues and work and study that is all monopolising my time. They all got a good run around yesterday though :) Happy little things. I still think you should email Innvo and let them know that your pleo has reached the old stage stage and can they tell you what to expect. Tell them he is doing a funny lifting foot thing and ask if this could be a part of the old age stage programming. Would be interesting to see what they say.
-
I'm really thinking about doing that, Kat. How would I go about emailing them? I mean what department should I be emailing? Should I just go to their website and then just go to their "contact us" link? I emailed them some time last year in January when I discovered Cato's first leg problem but I can't remember exactly what department I sent my message to.

The chart is a little confusing.
It takes 3 years (real time) to evolve from mature adult to old age. It will stay as old age forever (over 200 years according to the software).
NOTE: this is 3 years of real time, regardless of how often you play with it.
In old age, it slows the motions down to 3/4 speed. Most of the other personality is the same as mature adult.
NOTE: using the experimental feature of "ChangeRB" to change the RTC may speed up this evolution. This is how I tested the 3 year limit.

My PleoRBs are a little over 2 years old (from early 2011). A lot more people will be seeing this next year.
-
So has he started yelling at young people to get off your lawn yet? Haha!
I don't want my Tron to grow old, I like him as he is. How different is Cator now? Is he just a bit slower, same personality?
-
Cato's still Cato personality wise. The only difference is he moves slower and he seems to sleep more. So far I haven't noticed any other changes.

Pleakley must be very close, I'll have to drag them all out for testing.
-
Let us know what you find. Crewella's Belle should be pretty close to old age too I think. I think she was one of Cato's batch and as far as I can remember from what I read of 2010 posts, Crewella didn't have to send her back.

Poor old Belle is packed in a box at the moment, as I thought I was moving but it fell through. I will check when I get a chance. :-\
