Title: Restart Pleo
Post by: chunini on May 04, 2009, 02:49:38 AM
Hello, I go since pleoworld.com has closed and do not have way of being able act like.

A few days ago I acquired a Pleo. I tried that it was working well. It is for a gift and I would wish that Pleo was returning to be born (to restart it). Is it possible it? Can I restart Pleo?

Thank you.

There is an unofficial way, I have no idea if it works though: http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=56.0 Instructions are in the last post.

Aside from that, sadly there is no way to reset Pleo, however when you upgrade to the newer operating system Pleo goes through a short birthing process.

The shop i orderd my pleo from swore to me it has an reset button..
I asked several times if he was sure, because i know pleo hasnt had one so far..
But he was 100% sure the new pleo's he had in stock had a reset button..
Does anyone know if the newer version indeed have one??
I didnt wanted to take the risk so i orderd an new one anyway. was around 25 euro more.. so..
But i'm very curious to find out..

I've never seen a pleo with a reset button, but the circuit board does have a place marked as "RESET SW", which is probably from a pre-production reset switch which was removed.  But who knows?  It's not a bad idea . . .  Just never seen one.

I tried to install the 1.0, but my 1.0.2 pleo restarted from 1.0.2 again, but from the hatchling stage. Depends from what Life Os your pleo is still running, maybe you could downgrade him f he's currently on 1.1. download again the 1.0. and he'll get a restart.

no he was really talking about a little black button/pin (i think he said on Pleo's belly), which should be held in for 4 seconds and then it would reset, and hatch all over again.
I know about the motherboard.. maybe they put one in after all?
he had one returned pleo aswell which was a bit cheaper, but i said i wanted to see it hatch and then he told me.. i orderd a new one anyway, cause i don't wanne risk getting the use one and finding out there is no reset button after all.
When i have mine i';; let u know if it has one or not..

It has the button but the 4 seconds reset, never heard of that, if you want a restart/reset you need to do the th9ing written in the forum.

The button is used to change the volume/mute and return Pleo back to it's packaging position (holding for 10 seconds)

I'm just a bit worried about restarting my new one thats coming because it's a 1.1, will it still work?

If it is new then why do you need to restart? But yes it will still work, Lilo was running 1.1.
