i thought it would be fun to hear how other users named their pleos XP
my younger brother named my pleo, nyan, after the nyan cat.
-
Jade was easy - she is very green and has bright green eyes (plus I needed an easy name for the kids I would be showing her off to)
-
my pleo rbs name is sakura.it means cherry blossom in japaneese! :-[ :-* P;D :rainbow:
-
I started with Lilo because I love the name and the movie, Stitch followed naturally and then the rest kind of fell in behind lol. :lilo: :stitch:

Stephan is named after an artist from Cirque du Soleil.
Tron is named after the computer program character 'Tron' from the 1982 movie of the same name. His blue colour was an influence on the name as the movie character has blue markings.
James is named after James May from 'Top Gear'. Also there is a song I like called 'James' and 'Jamie' is a Doctor Who character I like, mostly influenced by Top Gear but there are other reasons I liked that name. But mostly 'Top Gear' ;)

Mine has yet to have a name (it's an Xmas prezzie any ways though so a little while to go yet), but I do have a list of names for either gender & I'll pick one from that once the little one hatches as I'm too Indecisive lol..
Took me AGES to name both my kids; they literally went through like a 100 names each during pregnancy, & seeming its unlikely I'll have more kids due to medical problems my Pleo will be my new 'baby', so the battle to find the right name starts all over again hehe ;D ;)

Heheh ..... I love Top Gear! ;D
I've no idea where my lot got their names from ...... they just kind of popped into my head as got to know them! :D
..... and I have a cat called Peaches. :P
-
Also a big Top Gear fan ;D
I have Kermy (pink pleo rb) named after Kermit the frog, Norbit (green Pleo rb) named after Hagrids dragon in Harry Potter, Pickle (green pleo rb) pickles are green and the contest I won her in was a bit of a pickle so I thought it was both funny and cute and it stuck, Gumble (Ugobe) named after my favourite childhood book Gumbles and Bottersnikes, Minyon (Ugobe) because it is fun to have minions, Frankie (Ugobe) named after Frankenstein as he had a lumpy neck a bit like Frankenstein's monster - I have since fixed him though so he no longer has the lumpy neck :D

I amed my pleo Pokey after her namesake, my first pet poquito. A black cat :-*

Mine are both named after machine language instructions from an 8-bit 6502 microprocessor circa 1984. (This is the microprocessor that powered the Apple II, the Commodore 64, and just about every computer back then).
NOP (pronounced nawp) means No OPeration which basically does nothing for one time cycle. Kind of like a mini wait command.
LDY (pronounced liddy) means LoaD the Y register, so it puts a number into one of the 3 registers used for arithmetic.
There are 54 more commands to go on the 6502 so hopefully I'll hit my limit on Pleos before I run out of names. lol.
(ps - the four 8-bit micro-controllers in the Pleo that run it's 14 motors are remarkably similar to those early microprocessors. In fact the machine language they use is probably very similar)

Pearl was named because of the color of her eyes.

Pipers name was chosen at random after me & my son had gone through pretty much every baby name website. We'd looked at names meaning green, & different things to do with her personality but nothing appealed, so we started to just look at normal baby names. My son helped narrow the top 10 down to Piper :)
It took us about 2 weeks to decide her name which for me is pretty good going considering neither of my kids had names til the day they were born cause I kept changing them literally every day during pregnancy - there's just too many names I love! So I figure as I'm not having any more kids I'll just have to keep buying Pleo's to use all the names I love :P
