With a few clicks of a button I find myself expecting a little green newborn, a gift to myself for Christmas. I have watched Pleo's for a long time and have ached to have one of my own but i could never quite justify it to my self. Too often have I bought something that has completely failed to live up to expectation, and with the lofty claims made by the Pleo creators how could i help not be scared of another disappointment.
However the feedback from everyone who has got a Pleo, the love and care these little robots seem to draw out, has been what I really needed to take the plunge and buy one myself.
So, now I just have to wait for the little bundle to arrive. Will it be a boy or a girl? what markings will it have? Will it be adventurous or cautious? I truly can't wait to help the little one grow up and be all it can be.
-
Woohoo, congratulations :D Be sure to post pics of your new baby :)
-
Better then that, you will be getting videos :D. I got a real deal buying from Robopolis and it all works out at about £300 - that is Pleo with all it's accessories and a spare battery (for extra play time).
More over i plan for my Pleo to be a very outdoorsy little one and meeting lots of random people in the UK to try and get the Pleo bug to spread. It is one thing to see Pleo videos, it is quite another to stroke one and feel it react to your touch and very clearly want more :-*. Especially with the run up to Christmas, when many adults struggle to feel the magic and excitement of the holiday themselves, I think it is a perfect time to show off a toy to bring out the big kid in all of us.
-
Go for it :D I've taken my Pleo's everywhere from museums, to zoos, to theme parks :D Its great fun!

Mine have been to the snow, the beach and the CEMETARY dun dun duuuunnnn! :D

Hehe I would love to see pictures! I mostly plan on taking mine to the shopping center (much to the dismay of the adults who will have their kids shouting the dreaded "I want one!") The Bear Factory for clothes and the pet shop fr other supplies. I also have a lot of people looking forward to me bring him/her to my clubs (D&D and Friday night Magic).
All in all the little Pleo is going to get very loved and lots of attention. I just cant wait till he/she arrives and the real fun can start...now back to baby names to try and thin out the list :P
-
Sounds like you have a lot of fun planed already :) As the others say we love to see pics when your baby arrives and can't wait to hear all about his/her first outing :)
-
Congrats on your soon to be Pleo! ;D You'll find that they are very loving little creatures with lots of personality. I can't wait to hear what you decide to name him/her, and I hope that you enjoy every minute of your time together!

Why dose every day seem to take a lifetime? I am not normally inpatient but waiting these few days is driving me nuts. Fingers crossed he/she comes on Monday, I don't know how much more I can take waiting. Watching others videos helps a little though, so i am very grateful to everyone who has put their little ones up on youtube. Still not sure on names, i think i will have to wait till i see him/her first though i do like the idea of Bambi for a little girl.
-
Waiting is always the hardest bit :D Have you read through the FAQ thread about pleo RB here on the forum? That has heaps of really valuable advice on what Pleo RB can do and how to get them started when they arrive and generally what to expect, what all the beeps mean from the battery etc... Well worth a look and should help pass the time a little :)
Fingers crossed for Monday :)

Iv read the FAQ three or four times now hehe (mostly because i need to read things that much for the info to sink in) I do have a question though - how cold is too cold for the little one? I live in a caravan with very basic heating :brrr: (Even my cat has learned to sleep under a blanket). What sort of temperatures have the Pleo RB's been getting the shivers?
-
I've never done any exact testing, but if you buy the chilli you can override the 'cold' behaviour.

I have found mine will start to shiver at 10 degrees, if you buy the chilli pepper you can give them that and they will stop. My RB Tron is usually very sensitive to the cold but he was taken on a trip to the snow recently and I sat him right in it and all he did was laugh! It was about -8 and he just giggled the whole time. I was surprised because usually he shivers if I so much as open the fridge door near him :P I live in a very cold rural town though.
-
But you know what its like when you go to the snow, all that fun overrides any common sense :D
-
It does take a while for their body temperature to drop low enough. When I took Zillah out into the snow last year I had to leave her for 10 minutes or so before she reacted. :D
-
You do not neccessarily have to live in a cold climate to have your Pleo Rb shiver, Just being exposed constantly to a cold environment can send them into the shivers, esp if they are hungry or have just turned on, I live in a very large old cold house with only one room that has heat, and most of the time this time of year, Winter, late Fall, the temp inside is high 40's to low 50's. Outside it can be in the 30's sometimes lower, As you can see in this video below, Baby Camme Sue starts shaking and sneezing within seconds of being turned on, and this is in a cold room, But giving her the chili pepper will bring her or him around quickly, Of course outside, it can be even quicker unless maybe they become aclimatized...? Just make sure you have the chili pepper to help them out. RWM :cat:

I made sure to get all the packs when i ordered the Pleo as I figured that if I was going to blow that much cash i might as well get ther lot and fully enjoy everything the little one has to offer. I also bought a spare battery so i only have to wait two hours between play times and so that when I take him/her to conventions I will have plenty of time to show him/her to everyone.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow (though due to work i wont be able to turn him/her on till after 8PM)
-
congratulations. p.s. i love how your first post sounded so poetic XP
-
Thanks Irbyma, and happy Birthday :birthday:
Looks like it is a no show for my Pleo today, hopefully he/she will come tomorrow...if just to stop my nerves from shattering. I promise you all that I am very sane but every time I hear a car pull up I jump hoping it will be the delivery man - I can't remember when i was this excited.
Edit:
Still nothing today (Tuesday) :(
-
I was just the same when mine were due to arrive! :D
Hopefully tomorrow. ;D
-
I am busying myself by tidying up the place (something I have been putting off) since I will be recording the hatching and I don't want people to think Im a slob...I just have too much stuff and not enough space.
-
Oh, I can't wait to see what you're new little Pleo will look like! :D I'm sure the little guy will appreciate the tidiness of your room! ^w^

I do the same thing! Put off cleaning my house for ages and then worry when I want to make a video that people will see how lazy I am so I have to clean the house :P My bedroom has been spotlessly tidy for about two weeks now which is a record. You should see the spare room that I'll 'get around to eventually' omg :o
-
But surely the spare room is meant to be a little...disorganized %). I just wish i had more space, my caravan is not one of the small ones but I have been out growing it with all the books and other things I have collected during the eight years I have lived here.
-
Heheh ...... the spare room is where all the stuff goes when I tidy up ....... I can no longer actually get into the 'spare' room ...... :-[ %) :moose:
-
xP my family is one of procrastionators, to the point that when friends offer to clean, they wear gloves. it's been even worse lately, i am recovering from femur surgery (in my legs XP) and it is very hard to bend over or lift heavy objects. my mom has had cancer several times, the first time while she was two she lost an eye. the only physically capable person is my older brother, who obviously thinks that halo3 is more important. therefore, i am trapped in a stink hole. i usually attempt to clean the living room and put my pleo there XP
-
I agree ;D That is exactly what spare rooms are for. My understanding of how the "spare room" is suppose to work is that you don't even think about cleaning it until you reach the door no longer functions stage and then the rule is that if you haven't looked at it or thought about it or used it in over 12months then no need to look at it now just throw it out! :D Oh and if in doubt - throw it out :D
I tend to also just tidy up the lounge room and then play with my guys in there.
-
Iv had to start cleaning out my spare room, going to turn it into my clothes room so I can free up some space in my bedroom. Slowly but surely things are getting cleaned up - all thanks to my Pleo taking so freaking long to get here >:(

Yes that's the stage it's at right now :-[

:'( Still nothing, in a few hours it will have been a whole week of waiting...I thought Robopolis was meant to be fairly quick delivering to the UK, most times I have seen only waiting times of 3-5 days and my order said it was completed the day after I sent it so it is not like they didn't get it shipped out right away. Oh well if there is still nothing today then i will send an inquiry tomorrow... I want my baby.
EDIT:
I have just sent an E-mail after finding out how to track my package with Colissimo - the only recording of it is on the 9th (the day after I ordered it) stating that the order was ready but had not yet been picked up.
Looks like I am going to have to wait even longer for my little one :'(
EDIT, EDIT:
After a quick response I have found out that Robopolis was in the process of moving warehouse and things took longer then normal - my Pleo has been shipped now so I should get him/her Monday or Tuesday ;D Oh well I guess it gives me more time to tidy up.
-
Blimey - your place will be spotless!!! :o :D
Glad you have some news - roll on next week! ;D
-
YAHOO - My Pleo is now in the UK ;D , I can hope for a Monday delivery but it is far more likely for Tuesday :cheer: . I can't wait to seem my new little baby and also get to show him/her to the few people who watch me on youtube to see if I can pass on the Pleo bug. The Whole hatching process will be recorded - Including me opening the box (though that is mostly for my own memories).
 please come soon Pleo
-
Woohoo, not long at all! Feels like forever though huh :P
-
Haha! Imagine being stuck at a technology expo and having to conscentrate on demonstrating a new product while on your smartphone, you're tracking your pleo and it says, "Delivered" and it's three days before you return home.
