Title: Things not to do with Pleo to look after skin
Post by: denodan on October 14, 2012, 03:21:55 AM
Dressing up your Pleo, will cause constant rubbing more so around the legs and will wear down the paint faster, Bands, neckllesses, ties, etc to hold on clothing will cause extra wear.

Also never leave Pleo asleep for long periods, this will cause cracking of the rubber, due to prolonged stretching of the rubber, seems to weaken the rubber.

The first of those is not correct if clothing and accessories are chosen carefully. NOthing tight or abrasive.

The second is true, Pleo's should absolutely not be left in the sleep position for long periods of time.

Thirdly do not expose your Pleo to daily doses of sunshine.

As IMR says, the right clothing will help protect Pleo's skin from rubbing when petting and roaming, and will also protect it from sunlight.

I can think of one more no-no. Don't use baby powder to protect your pleo's paint. It will dry out your pleo's skin and lead to cracking and tearing.

Autoglym or similar rubber care product.

Personally I use nothing but a light wipe with a damp cloth if my Pleo's are dirty. And all my Pleo's have pretty good skin. Having said that Lilo and Stitch are getting to the point where they will need something more to help their skins last.
