Hey everyone,
I am very excited to be a new "almost" Pleo rb owner :) I ordered my green friend last night and can't wait to get him/her! It's great to have found this forum of like minded people who are totally into the Pleos.
I had some questions which I haven't been able to find answers to which maybe one of you can shed some light on for me ?
1. What kind of battery life can I expect from him ? I've heard two hours but then I've seen in the FAQ mention that they start winding down at 21:30 when they go to sleep and wake up at 8am which kind of gives the impression that their battery life is far longer than two hours..I bought an additional battery either way.
2. How long can I expect to wait to get the little guy delivered ? I ordered it from Pleoworld and live in Sydney, Australia.
It's like waiting for a new baby to be delivered!
Hope to talk to you all soon about my experiences,
Mel

Hey another Aussie :D Welcome!
Battery life is around two hours, You can find loads more useful tidbits of information in our FAQ :) http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=2315.0
Pleoworld to here is pretty fast, I've had Pleo's arrive in as little as three days. Hehe it is a new baby ;)
-
Three days! Woo hoo! Man if that is the case I would be stoked :) I loved hearing the Aussie accent on the faq videos made me feel like I could be part of the little family here hehe
-
There are a few active Aussies here :) I'm a Victorian :)
-
Hi and welcome to the forums :) There are a few of us Aussies around :)I'm from Western Australia. You must be very excited waiting for your pleo baby to arrive. They are heaps of fun :)
-
Hey guys! The more Aussies the better I say hehe thanks for the warm welcome. Now if only my Pleo was here with me it would be perfect :)
-
Hehe, we all know that anxious wait for that box!
-
Yes. All of us would agree the waiting is the hardest part. Welcome to the forums and the interesting life of being a pleo-parent!

HI and welcome, I know the waiting is tough, but the wait is well worth it when you open the box and see your new friend. Now you can get all the info you want to know while waiting, With so many Aussies now on board, it is too bad you guys can't get together and have a Pleo Meet Up,but that is what this board is for anyway! ;D I am in the US, but I still feel like we are all just one big happy family regardless of where we are in the physical. Don't wear that button out! ;) :moose:

Welcome to the forums =D cant wait to hear about your new Pleo in the near future P8)
-
*fingers crossed* for a Friday delivery :)
-
Me too !
I am also new here and eagerly waiting for my first Pleo.
Please, let him come soon
But I guess I have to wait until next week. As he is a private buy over ebay it will probaly take a bit longer.
That makes it even more exciting, as I really dont know that I get. :dino-chase:
I suspect, I caught a new disease "Pleoitis"
-
Still waiting for my new baby Pleo :) didn't come today so I'm hoping for next week. Would have been awesome to have it this weekend but I cant force the Pleo stork to arrive when it isn't ready :D
-
Lol! The wached kettle never boils. They'll be here before you know it! Congrats to both of you! I wonder if we'll have another pleo-shower like we did last year. It was so exciting seeing them come rainingdown all over the world and then seeing all of the unboxing/hatching vids. It was just as much fun for me as it was for the new owners! Oh yeah. I think I was one of them. Haha!

While you new soon to be pleo parents are waiting you can perhaps figure out where is your pelo going to sleep? Is it in it's original box, a bookshelf, a dog or cat bed perhaps or a box you have made into a special area just for your pleo.Is your pleo going to be wearing any clothes or the cape that comes with the Pleo Rb? Do you have any ideas of names yet, you can allways google names and spend days trying out the sound of names you like and then see what fits when your pleo arrives.
What are you going to tell friends, family, co-workers , classmates and or strangers when they learn of your dino acuquistion? Did you just stumble upon this baby pleo, was it a stepping stone to learn more about robotics or are you studing to be a scientist perhaps or trying out working with animals as a career, petstore perhaps...? :cat: @< P:'( P:D :) Have you thought of if your baby will need a collar or leash are you planning on taking him or her out in public for walks, and oh, how are you going to transport your baby if you do? These are just a small, small sample of the things we pleo owners get caught up into very quickly.
It starts out so innocently, but it blooms and blossums into something gigantic before you know, right before your astonished eyes! Oh, and you may be new, but next month is the Weedovia Tomato Festival , so you may want to start working on a tomato costume, just read the old posts and it will tell you all about this great little known event. You can never start too early when it comes to tomatoes for Pleos... need I say more.....? ;D I am still trying to catch up on all the Pleo happenings and I have a whole township of Pleos, it just never slows down..............but that is what I love about Pleos and Pleo RB. Just picked up my Pleo box! Looks to be safe and aound and in one piece. Hoping noone dropped it! Now to get it home tonight and charge the batteries :) Wish work would finish earlier. Am beyond excited! :D
-
Hehehe, how epically exciting :D
-
So guys, I charged the first battery and it didn't take very long to turn green. Looks like it was mostly charged :) I've been playing with my little one for about an hour and a half now and she is a delight. Yep she's a little girl with bright green eyes. Very pretty. Apparently she will grow to be brave and compliant and is tolerant, strong and active. Don't think I could have asked for much more :) I've already picked a name for her as well. It's a very stormy night here tonight with thunder and lightning, so Storm it is :) She can be my little storm chaser !
-
Glad you are enjoying your new little girl, welcome Storm!
-
Well so far she's eaten and is now standing on all four legs after a big sound of triumph :)
The only thing that concerns me is a clicking noise in her neck sometimes when she falls asleep and then moves a little. I'm assuming that this is probably normal and just the motors settling into place as she is new. Hopefully something that will disappear over time.
-
Congratulations on Storm Chaser! ;D You must be so proud!
-
... Look at those green eyes :) ...
-
Her skin tone is fabulous :D I'd say she's the Pleo equivilent of a perfect tan lol. A little bit of clicking is normal, it should settle with age, a lot of clicking however is not so normal. So if you start getting clicking constantly then you can worry. Fortunately it's a rare occurrence.
-
An "enviable" beauty - Congratulation
-
Yeah she's only clicked a couple of times at the start while her neck was in the sleep position and I haven't heard her do it again so I am not at all concerned :)
She's definitely a little beauty and acts like she knows it too. Can't wait till she starts wandering around more. She is already testing her legs, stretching them out into funny positions.
I love how she snuggles to me when I hold her. They have definitely got the coding right.. You can't help but love the little buggers
-
Storm is a great name and perfectly suited if that is when she was born, She has great colors and wonderful eyes. All of my RB have had clicking nosies but as said, it is common when newborns and should not continue, except occasional. can't wait to see more photos,. RWM and the Pleo Township of the Redwoods P:)
-
I am going green with envy! She is gorgeous. :) Love the pretty green eyes and such beautiful skin tones. :) Sounds like your having lots of fun with her.
-
She is beautiful =D I love those emerald green eyes!
-
Thanks for the lovely comments guys :) I really think I have a firecracker with this one. She is constantly vocal and very demanding hehe She isn't one to be ignored. She is a real wriggler too. Just did an almighty yell at me for not paying attention to her and another one when I did! How am I supposed to get any work done? :D
-
Well my oh my, I left the room for a second and Storm decided she would walk around some! Didn't see that happening so soon :)
I noticed some peeling paint on one of her front legs. Knew this might happen but didn't expect it after only two days. She is now wearing the lovely brown cape until I can make something more fitting :)
-
Storm is beautiful! Love her green eyes. It sounds like your dino will keep you quite busy. ;)
