Title: Pleo RB Not Working - red light when trying to switch him on
Post by: EmmaJane on September 08, 2012, 12:19:17 PM
Hi everyone,

Hope someone can help as I have a very sad little 4 year old whose pleo is not working.  He has a Pleo RB which wasn't used while we were away this summer.  When we got back, I charged the battery and it lasted about 10 minutes.  Since then, I have re-charged the battery, but when I insert it into Pleo and switch him on the light just goes red and pleo does not work at all.  So you think this is a battery problem or a problem with Pleo?  If its a battery problem, can I buy a battery for the RB anywhere other than on pleoworld - their shipping costs are so high!

Thanks so much for any advice!

It does indeed sound like a bad battery. Have you tried continually placing it back on charge after it goes red?

You can buy special green batteries on eBay that work in both Ugobe's and RB's, ignore the claims for super extended battery life though, they aren't true.

I had the same problem, what I did was put the battery in and keep pushing it in while pressing the on button (don't take the thing on top and turn it in place). After about 3 seconds, turn the thing on top of the battery into place and take your hands off the battery. It works everytime, but if it still doesn't work, I would advice you to change the battery. Going away for a period of time without doing anything with the pleo battery could cause problems.
