I tried Recognition software for the first time today....many Aibo owners will not use it because of the awful voice but I thought I'd give it a go... (I will eventually change some of the voice to sounds....the voice can be changed but with difficulty)....

Neat :D But does she announce everything she is doing :o The voice is kinda irritating, could you simply replace each vocal with a nicer voice saying the same things?

The voice can be replaced...each phrase etc but it would take an awful long time...hence why nobody has done it yet. I might just replace the English voice with the Japanese voice...that can be done easily apparently. Won't understand what she is saying but it will sound a lot nicer!! It's a bit softer. The ERS 7's female voice in Japanese sounds beautiful :)

Nice Video. but you can't really show Aibo recognition without

I don't mind the voice so much. I actually prefer it to the rather dry and cold female 7 voice. It just makes Aibo sound really ditzy. :)
IMO a bigger problem with recognition is that its a very simple, repetitious and buggy software. There no growth or learning and Aibo has little autonomy. its more about "Pet me, show me my ball, show me your face" commands " Its a shame because it has some of the best features, dances and skits of any 210 software. Its just simple and toy like in behavior

I agree...It COULD have been amazing but apparently it was released before it was finished....reminds me of something else!!!
Anyhow it was still fun to play around with it and I will hopefully be changing bits of it as experimentation :) My Pink ball, my pink ball has got to go!!!!!

WOW!! That was really cool to me! I did not think it was repetitive at all. Very cool! I wish they'd do that with Pleo!

i think yori sounds really cute, is the software supported by sony or is it software someone has made?

The software was made by Sony, quite a number of years ago now....it's really what led to the ERS 7's Mind software....but Mind 3 is much much better! Imagine what kind of amazing software there would be by now if they had carried on :(
