Title: make your own pleo capes

 hi everybody as i have heard the pleo capes have bands that go round the legs but they rub the paint so i was going to ask i any one new how to make your own :)
what do you need ?

Redwoods would be a good one to ask about this. She even knows of some capes you don't even have to sew together. I have one she sent me that's just a simple bandana that you sort of drape around the pleo like a wrap and tie underneath. Unless you're wanting to get fancy, you could just take a bit of cloth, cut out a hole for the neck and then just sort of square up the edges so that it drapes evenly over your pleo's back and shoulders without getting in the way of the feet.

Large socks with hole in appropriate places also work (just make sure you wash 'em first) :duh:

Haha! Now I know what I can do with that pair of giant tube socks someone gave me that go all the way to my knees! Lol! How did he cut the sock?

Talon he's cut the toe off for the neck to poke through, the front legs are sticking out where the ankle of the sock was and then there's one last hole for the back legs, the tail comes out the part of the sock that's normally open.

Oh okay! Yes. Those aweful socks just got a new lease on life. Thanks for describing the top, IMR! Now where did I put my scissors?

What I did was cut the top straps off, left the looser bottom ones on and I have had not problems with paint/skin wear at all on my RB. You can look under the 'Stores' tab to find other members who will make you custom pleo clothes. My two wear designs by IMR, Kat and RWM but Kat is their main 'tailor' because she is willing to put up with my crazy ideas :P

Your other option is small dog clothes - many of them will fit a pleo nicely but you should try them on before you buy :)

That sock top looks adorable!  I bet you could cut a sock in a certain way to create a cape... It may need some sewing though.  What sized sock was used to make that top by the way?  Maybe I'll make one for my new Pleo.

I don't know what sized sock, I guess any large men's size would do.

Lol! But that's half the fun! Plus it's good advertising for Innvo and *grin* a good way to attract more members to the forum. You'd be surprised how many people have never heard of a pleo.

I. Know! Once I took nyan to the auto parts store and this guy was all over her. And ive been asked whether she was really alive,  shes alive to me, but they want a beating heart XD

I've never actually taken my pleo out shopping with me - I make all my own clothes and I have a shop here on the forum so no need for me :)  I have taken them out and about a few times though just for fun.  You do get some interesting reactions.  I am thinking of another pleo outing sometime very soon.... We went to Kings park for a family gathering for Fathers day on Sunday and they have some great new dinosaur statues - Australian dinosaurs - and i'm just itching to take a pleo for a photo shoot :D
I will have to find a time when it isn't going to be too busy though as the statues were covered in children when we were there.  So maybe on a school day (to avoid the kids :) )when we have some sunshine  - lots of rain at the moment - I'll head off and take some pics.
