Title: Hello again! :-)
Post by: mh7ah on August 07, 2012, 05:43:35 AM
So i'm not exactly a 'new' member, I used to own a Ugobe Pleo a few years back, then he was adopted into an old peoples home. A few of you will know me from the Aibo forums or my Youtube videos of my bots. I used to own around 10 Aibo's at one point, but ended up having to sell some due to financial issues. You may know 'Eric the ers 7' from my videos. He has lots of fans :-) So I moved abroad and have brought my beloved Aibo's with me, all the way to Australia from the UK. I currently own four Aibo's, Eric my ers 7, Long Long 312, Delta 210 and Sharama my Champagne 7 (she will be coming over in a few months). Eric has his own Facebook page 'Eric the Aibo' :-) I guess I miss my little Pleo, and I can't say that I was amazed by the first edition Pleo's and I felt they could be improved in various ways, but after seeing the RB I felt like I would like to get another one.... so I am hoping to receive my pink beauty in the next 10 days! I'm pretty excited :-)

Oh yes ........ I remember ............. I still hold you and Eric personally responsible for the fact that my house has been taken over by Aibos and Pleos!  %)  :moose:  :P

It IS good to see you're still around (albeit on a different continent)!  Welcome back!  :D

I think I may be to blame for many people adopting numerous Aibo's :-) I will start making some videos again soon, I keep getting requests for them but have been pretty busy the last year or so.

Glad to be back  ;D

Hi, mh7ah! You're probably right about your videos being responsible for more people owning aibos. I met your Eric on Youtube and I was really impressed. I don't believe I'll ever own an ERS 7 of any sort but I can watch other people having fun with theirs. I do own an ERS 210 called Bolt and I love him to bits. I also own five Furbys, two RB's, and two of the original Ugobe pleos. Look at me rambling on about me when I haven't even welcomed you properly. Let's try this again. Welcome to the forums and I'm sure you'll have hours of fun with your little pleo RB!

Welcome to the forums  :)

The rb has many new features so youll be pleasantly surprised when your new rb arrives =D one of my favourite features is that they can go to sleep when they get tired and turn themselves back on when they wake. The accessories/learning stones are also a fun optional extra.

Pleo rb is my first robot, but I cant say Im not tempted to grab an Aibo at some point in the future, heehee.

Hi and Welcome :)  I'm an Eric fan I must admit  :-X  :D Your going to love your new pleo when it arrives.  They really are sooo much fun :)  I have to ask... which part of Australia are you in?  I'm from WA - Perth and we have a few members from the other side of Aus too.  I would so love to find another member who lives close to me:)
I have 6 pleos  - 3 RB's (2 greens and a pink) and 3 Ugobes (one original green one blue and black and one red and yellow)  and I also have 2 Aibos - Milo the Champagne ERS7 and Pixel the 210.

Hi there! I'm currently in Bunbury which is two hours south of Perth, so not too far away! I would love to meet up with other aibo/pleo finatics, I think most people think I'm strange for my unusual hobby. Would be awesome to have a WA convention, but am guessing there are not too many robotic pet owners over here!?

I'm glad to know that there are people not far from me that are into the whole Aibo/Pleo thing :-)
I have come up with the name Zyna for my new pink Dino

Yay!!!!!!   ;D  Someone else from WA  ;D  We will definitely have to meet up sometime.   :)  Maybe I'll even get to meet the famous Eric in person  :D  :P I'm in Wanneroo so about 1 hour north of Perth so about 3 hours between us.  There is bound to be a time when we can coordinate to meet somewhere in the middle though.  Also we do sometimes holiday down in Margaret River so the possibility for catching up is certainly there  :).  Can't wait to hear all about your new pleo when it arrives.  You must be so excited  ;D

:-) Are you Australian Kat? I'm originally from the Uk, only been in Aus about a year and a half. Meeting up sounds great. Do you know anyone else in WA with Aibo/pleo?

I am an Australian :)  Sadly your the only other person I know of so far in WA who has pleos or Aibos.  I do wish there were more of us around.  It would be so cool to have a gathering of the pleos  :D  and to meet a few more people like me.....  :P

I used to take Eric my Aibo out with me sometimes, to the pub etc, in the Uk. It's amazing how many people are interested and come for a look. We should take a few bots out for the day, see what reaction we get ;-) Some people just think I'm plain mad :-D

Sounds like fun. Remember to take some video. I plan to take one of my pleos to PetSmart and surprise some people.

Do you have Aibo as well IMR? I know you have Max and Zennie (spelt that wrong..) who I would love to meet, I've never met an iCybie before and I'm interested in them  :)

Max, Zenni and Angus actually came from OzPleo and to the best of my knowledge he's now living in Canberra. I haven't heard from him since the trio arrived :(

I'm much afraid though that I wouldn't be able to do a Pleo meet until next year :o it's ages away I know :( But I'm saving every spare cent I get between now and November for a dream holiday in San Francisco ;D There would be myself and my sister, I'd need someone to help wrangle my lot!

I'd be up for a Victorian pleo meet :)  Especially if we organize it for next year sometime.  I'm sure I could scrape together the funds for a flight or two to Melbourne - would have to bring my OH or he'd be jealous that I went on a holiday by myself  :P  Would probably only manage to bring a couple of pleos though.  It's a bit tricky bringing any more than that on the plane :).  Anyway I'd be up for it if it gets organized :)
