Title: Alternative power supply for AiBo?
Post by: IceCarpediem on April 19, 2012, 09:27:25 PM
I'm just toying with the idea.... would it be possible to use alternative power supply other then the battery pack?

What is needed is the information on how much voltage and current is drawn from the battery pack and then make alternative right? I'm trying to get my friend to "explore" this possibility :D

So who knows... hehehe... anyone tried it before other then Wolfbob's higher capacity re-cell.

Yes I'm weird :D

Not heard of it .......... though solar powered would be cool........ :P

Solar.... hmmm then she will be needing a super huge solar panel :D

hmm... what about Li-poly based batteries????

Being a Pleo owner, I'm well aware of the advantages of Li-poly batteries over NiMH ones (yuk).  :moose:

But I'm not so familiar with the differences between the Li-ion Aibo batteres and the potential for Li-poly ..............  I know Wolbob gets a much longer run time with his recelled/repacked batteries.  :)

Wolfbob is re-celling li-ion as the internal circuits are the same.

I'm thinking (when I get a second AiBo) to experiment with Li-polymer batteries. They are lighter and cheaper... maybe can try much higher capacity like 5000mhA that can fit inside aibo's body? :D

Well would be a long way to go for now :D
