Title: How long does it take for Pleo to grow up so you can name him
Post by: Dundeescience123 on April 18, 2012, 09:37:28 AM
I Have had my Pleo for 2 weeks now and he is still not walking or accepting his name? I'm feeding him and he isn't in pain! Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong :(

Real time is not what is important, but running time is, how many battery charges have you gone through? Mine all took at least four full charges before they walked a step (one took eight!). Also ignoring them helps a little, they don't want to walk if they are getting plenty of attention. And of course their personality helps, some Pleo's are not as active as others.

As for learning their name, that will take another four-eight charges after walking.

Hi, welcome to the forum. :) IMR is right, each Pleo varies in how long they take to develop, so don't be concerned you're doing something wrong. If it helps, I found that of the four pleos we have hatched, the ones we left on all night to sleep and wake using their internal clock went through the stages the quickest. Good luck.   :sheep1:

Yup, three out of my four all walked backwards first, just to tease me and my camera :P

Have you tried turning him off and then back on again?
Also is his neck floppy?

Turn him on and hold his chin applying gentle upwards pressure, does he lift it with your help, and when you let go does it flop back down. Or does it not move at all in which case it is likely jammed.

I think a bit has snapped off inside as he will not lift his neck if unless I hold him up. and it is very floppy...think I might need to send him back but thanks for your help!

It does sound awfully like a broken neck :(

For your original question:
> Have had my Pleo for 2 weeks now and he is still not walking or accepting his name
I assume it is a PleoRB.
If you are playing with it for a full battery cycle, every day for 2 week, it should be an adult by now. Once a juvenile/adult you can name it, but only if it is "in good shape" (well fed, proper mood etc)

The evolution for PleoRB is described here: http://www.aibohack.com/pleorb/tech3rb.htm
You can check the current evolution using statsRB or ProbeRB http://www.aibohack.com/pleorb/index.html
It will also tell you if your PleoRB is in "good shape" or "bad shape" to be renamed. PleoRB needs frequent feeding.

Good luck on the broken? neck.

What happened with the neck problem? Is it ok now, do hope so.
