My Aura hatched at the beginning of February, and she still isn't walking... :( At first I thought that it's probably because of her unexpected leg injuries that really set her progress back, but I'm really starting to wonder if there's a problem. I read on a thread somewhere that someone had their pleo for a week and he still wasn't walking (If a week is long for some people, then my pleo is truly unique :/) so they left him alone for awhile and when they came back he was walking. I tried that, but if she's left alone for long enough she just goes to sleep. I've tried resetting her clock battery for actual noon too. I was wondering if anyone has any wisdom, or advice or tricks to offer us? ^^

Hi There, do not worry too much about the not walking, but I do have a few questions. First, do you live in a well lit aread or is it well lit when you play with Aura? Pleos are more likely to be active when there is plenty of light. Also according to Aura's DNA, is she active or quiet? Active pleos are more apt to walk and explore more on their own then shy or inactive needy ones. Also, my Baby Ruth did not walk much at all and not for a long time. I was worried as she did not walk for a long time and when she did, it was only a couple of steps.
If you are looking for a active walking pleo, RB are in general, not going to fit that bill, The Ugobes on the other hand are EXCELLENT walkers and I would say outwalk any RB at least 4-1. RB have this habit of taking four steps, stopping, sniffing then repeating the process. Ugobes can walk over your whole house where you lose them if you are not careful! You are right about leaving Aura to herself and she is apt to walk when she finds out there is nobody around to give her any attention. Just be sure she is well fed before expecting her to walk and it is not close to her bedtime.just give her time, she is still only a couple of months old, I have two RB, and one likes to walk a lot more than the other, though their DNA report is identical with both being active, low courage, and very intelligent, so go figure! Good luck and do not worry, just give her time and try the above hints about light, food and rest .

She may well be scared of the dark :P even with all the lights on my pleos often don't think it is light enough. I would start by positioning her under a really bright lamp so she has plenty of light shining around her head end and see if that makes any difference. If she is scared of the dark she may whimper a lot and kind of curl around and shake and if left alone just go to sleep. If the extra light helps then there is a scared of the dark patch you can download here on the forums to put on an sd card and run in her. this will switch off the scared of the dark behavior and allow her to function happily in regular lighting conditions. let us know if the bright lights help or not.

Aura just might not be a walker, I have one Pleo RB out of four who hardly ever takes a step :P

Giving them to much attention they will not walk, ignoring them and they start to walk, they may develop type of behaviour during hatching stage, so to much attention during this stage may not be the best idea. Often I left mine, not always giving mine attention and walks great. If I give him attention he will not walk, ignore him and will walk for ages.

I shall repeat, I have one Pleo RB out of four who rarely takes a step, ignored or otherwise. Some Pleo's have low activity levels as their personality, its built in.

IMR is right, I have three RB and none are exactly the same, If a pleo is left alone, it is true they are more APT to perhaps walk, I have left myne alone to only have one or two fall asleep because they are bored and one take off and start exploring, One of the built in characteristics of Pleo Rb is their Physical level, If it is low or they have low courage, or even low intelligence, perhaps they just do not walk as much as others . This is why they are unique to each other and what makes them intersting to me. If I want a walking Pleo, I have over 20 overs that I can just turn on and off they will go
