Title: Pleo greeting cards and other new things!
Post by: Lunamione7 on March 05, 2012, 07:49:07 PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz93QaipRew

Shows the new greeting cards and he talks about a battery thing that downloads information from a smart phone application onto Pleo if you have to leave him for a long time, also some of them in the background are wearing new clothes!

I can't wait to buy myself a bunch of birthday cards (and an RB...) finally I will have someone to wish me a happy birthday :) They should make valentine and "Feel better soon" cards as well I think as lots of Pleo owners take their robots to the hospital with them and it would be nice to be able to send the sick Pleo owner one of these cards and have their Pleo sing a cheerful song or something to brighten their day.

Will the greeting cards require an update do you think or are they already capable of reading the cards?

Thanks for posting this, saw the stipey outfits in the background, cute.  :) But I'm confused a bit as Pleo already sings Happy birthday and Jingle bells! Do you think it will be a longer version otherwise I can't quite seethe benefit or am I missing something?  :sheep1:  a confused Lottibell.

Well singing it on command is a big thing, they currently sing it very very very rarely. Very interested in the app and the cards!

Ah yes, I see what you mean IMR.i thought the app. sounded wonderful too and actually the cards are nice as a gift or prize. On the subject but slightly different tangent, I managed to record Twiglet singing as I' d said I would try too and funnily enough two of them are Happy Birthday and Jingle Bells. The thing is that I don't have a utube account so is it possible to send the videos the same way I can send photos to other phones ( like an email or text) then perhaps I could send the videos, there are four or so to one of the moderators? Just a thought.  :sheep1:

A big concern with the cards is that they will require that the pleo rd be updated AND it only workd with an RB . . . So my guess is you'll get unknowing people spending a lot of money for a card, send it to the pleo owner not knowing if the pleo owner has an RB or not, and the pleo won't sing. :o

WHat IMR needs to do is develop some really cute skits, copy them onto some cheap SD cards, take some cute pleo shots and make them into greeting cards, and viola!  You have the same thing!

Ooops!  Shpuldn't have said that!  (quickly runs off to file international copyrights and patents on the idea of SD greeeting cards . . .  %) )

Very cool indeed as RB are fickle as to what they will do. Luckily I rarely miss anything they do, but unlike the Ugobes who will sing when rubbing their chins, or spontaeously Rb are more stubborn and won't sing as often. Poor IMR,as if she didn't have enough to do already! GEESJ Grumpy! :o  ;)             RWM
