Post by: camcam8910 on February 21, 2012, 06:51:55 AM
I have some things that I have bean wondering!

If you put a  P|-) rb in the same place every time he sleeps for a while will it know that there is where he should sleep??
Title: Does Pleo recognize bed?

Sadly not, though I'd love it if they did!  :D

They don''t have the software to recognise people or places.

There's a great thread here - add a pic of yours if you have one!  ;D

Where can I buy the cheapest still unused or very good condition pleo rb??

eBay, Reborn's secondhand are almost impossible to find and when you do find them the are often charging more than Pleoworld :P

CamCam instead of starting a whole bunch of topics with one question each could you please just post them all in one place, it makes it much easier for us not to overlook them and it allows other users with questions to easily find answers if they have similar questions. I merged your questions for you :) Thank you.

CamCam, you are in my opinion, much better to buy a brand new Pleo Rb from the factory , either in Europe or if in USA, from PleoWorld for several reasons. The first being as IMR clearly and concisely stated, they seldom show up on Ebay or anywhere else, used, unless highly priced and more importantly to me, they being older are past the 90 day warrantly and you do want to make sure you have that 90 day warranty incase anything was to go wrong with Pleo Rb. Every once in awhile, a unopend Pleo Rb will even show up on Ebay,( twice this past year that I know of in USA) but they were from the original Dec. 2010 issue, which quite a few seemed to have skin issues which have since been resolved.  :) But because these RB were purchased and sitting in someone's house for about a year, even though unopened, they were past the 90 day warranty and the warranty was void for the new owner.
Personally if I am going to spend the money for a Pleo Rb, I want that warranty and even for Pleos that have sold for as little as $300.00, I would rather pay the full price and know I am protected. Your best bet if you do want a used Pleo Rb is to watch the Marketplace on this site, as occasionally they have shown up, and I do know of two that I can think of and the members know each other and it feels "safer" to me.
As for not thinking your internet is "fast enough to post photos", I do not think unless you have a very old computer, the internet speed should not affect being able to post photos. I used to have a ME computer operating system and I was still able to post photos and videos , a little slower but not that bad, Give it a try you have nothing to lose. ;) I have a friend Claire and that name is a great name I think also! Good luck with whatever Pleo you decide to get. P:)

What type of connection do you have CamCam? If you have dial-up it will be too slow I'm sorry, you could try emailing your pictures to a moderator and have them upload it for you.
I have a fast computer but only dial up internet and it is for sure not fast enought to upload pictures to Bob the Pleo  :( I have to email all my pictures to Crewella if I want to show them here or put them in a youtube video which takes days to finnish processing. The computer itself is very fast, quite new and more than capable of handeling large files but the old type internet connection just can't handle it and times out.

Best place for a RB is still PleoWorld because no one sells them second hand and when they do the price is still very high, often more than a new one like others have said. If you don't like the RB price tag you can get a brand new Ugobe for $200 from the Hong Kong seller on eBay. I have one and he is very good.

Well lets it this way: I had a problem getting to reply as it kept on blocking up and not letting me do anything!!
And the price for the pleo rb is high but I was only wondering if you could get them anywhere cheaper! ;)

Does the egg charger and white battery work for all diffrent kinds of pleos??
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Crewella on February 22, 2012, 07:40:47 AM
No, the egg charger batteries only work in classic/Ugobe Pleos.   :moose:

For what it's worth, occasionally a second hand Pleo RB comes up for sale on here.  It's worth keeping an eye out. :)

Post by: camcam8910 on February 22, 2012, 07:47:31 AM
Crewella,
well know that you have cleared that up I have one more question,
Does the pleo rb battery take less time to charge and stays charged longer than the older version pleo?
As I have heard it will.

Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 22, 2012, 07:50:49 AM
The manual suggests that the battery should take 4 hours to charge and you will get 2 hours play time.  Mine all only take 3 hours to fully charge and I get the full 2 hours of play :)
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Crewella on February 22, 2012, 07:53:21 AM
Yes, like the egg charger batteries, the new RB battery is much better than the original green NiMH battery, charges quicker and lasts longer.  They are both Li-Poly batteries, and are pretty similar, actually.  BUT you can only use the egg  batteries in classic/Ugobe Pleos and the brown RB battery in the RBs.  :)
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: camcam8910 on February 22, 2012, 07:58:53 AM
Thank you Crewella I will tell my friend about the knew egg chargers and batteries as she has the older version of pleo and never complains and says that her battery lasts all day! :o
But I will tell her none the less.
Also do the tricks like play dead and watch dog and all those work on the pleo rbs to?
I mean the ones that you have to hold sertain sensors for them to react?
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Crewella on February 22, 2012, 08:01:29 AM
The basic RB doesn't, but the tricks are part of the 'Play' learning stone package so you kind of need to 'teach' them and get the stone.
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: camcam8910 on February 22, 2012, 08:19:43 AM
Thank you crewella
Do the learning stones work on the older version pleo?
and how do you post pictures so that I can post pictures of the two beds that I made? (one for night time and one for nap times)
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Crewella on February 22, 2012, 08:21:02 AM
No, only the RB has the RFID chip reader that can read the learning stones. :)

Send the pics to me - I'll pm you. :)

Can I charge a pleo rb battery over night?

Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 23, 2012, 07:33:54 AM
I often charge mine overnight.  It's not a good idea to leave them sitting on the charger for days but over night is just fine.  I put mine on just before I go to bed and then take then off fully charged as soon as I get up in the morning.  :)
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: camcam8910 on February 23, 2012, 07:47:28 AM
That is good as that will be one of the best times to charge the battery as will not be playing with my pleo at night.

"how long does a pleo take to be delivered?"

If you're in the US and they have them in stock, it could be within a week ...... if they have to send out from China it might be a bit longer.  I'm in the UK, and it took less than a week to get here but took several days to get through our UK customs.

I was going mad!!!!  >:(  :P

Sorry about the shout box thing but I didn't know how to edit my posts yet or I would've done so.So sorry  :head-wall:
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!

You can't edit the shout box, kind of why on actual questions it's best to use the topics.  :moose:

Don't worry - we all abuse the shout box at one time or another, just don't make a habit of it! ;)  :D

When a pleo rb is taught the singing learning stone, do you know how the older version will sing back if you try to repeat the song, well does the ploe rb do the same thing??
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 26, 2012, 04:48:50 PM
No.  The pleo rb singing with the learning stone is a small programed skit and they will perform it then stop and wait for more instructions.  They wont deviate from the behaviors of the skit to interact with you.
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: camcam8910 on February 26, 2012, 05:20:07 PM
In that case I'll have to think about getting a older version ploe.

Post by: Crewella on February 26, 2012, 07:15:27 PM
I love the Pleo RB's, but I'm still a huge fan of the original Pleos - why not get one - they're a lot cheaper.  You can still save for an RB later! ;)

Well I was only planing on getting one pleo fore ever, not a tribe of ploes like many of you have.

P;D P;D P;D I am probably getting the original pleo but can you teach them their names?  P???
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 27, 2012, 06:41:06 AM
No sadly the Ugobe pleos can't learn their names.  That is a new feature that only the rb's have.
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: camcam8910 on February 27, 2012, 06:48:06 AM
What can you teach the ugobe pleos??
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 27, 2012, 07:05:59 AM
The Ugobe pleos can't actually learn.  But if you have them running on the PM 2 update they can do tricks.  You get them to do tricks by touching different sequences of touch sensors at the same time.  They can play dead, do the ta da balancing trick, sit and there are a bunch of others I can't think of just now :P  I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you all of them. :)

Thanks,
If two original version pleos meet what is their reaction.
My friend said that she was teaching her pleo how to play soccer???
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Crewella on February 27, 2012, 12:27:29 PM
My Iggy never said hello until he met another Pleo ...... now he says it all the time!  Two Ugobe Pleos together will honk in unison, but there's no 'set' reaction like the RBs have.  Pleos communicate best with another Pleo running the same OS. :)

Pleos might toddle along pushing a ball in front of them, but it's more or less by accident ....... not many goals get scored ...... ;)

Don't worry CamCam, they relist it often. So if you miss it this time round you'll catch the next one.

IMR's right, Camcam - a few people on here have bought from that seller (assuming it's the one in Hong Kong).  It's a good deal, but they will most likely list again. :)

Your exactly right it was a seller from hong kong!LOL!! The seller name leadingwincorp or some thing. But the question is when will it be back on and how much will it be??

They've been saying 'last few' for the last few months - they have been relisting pretty regularly, but I've no idea how many they actually have left.  :-\

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=leadingwincorp&iid=-1&de=off&items=25&interval=0&mPg=20&page=16 Like others have said, this seller has been selling NOTHING but Pleos as far back as 2010, look at the feedback, he never runs out, he has sold over 300. This guy has a whole warehouse full of them, I have two of his Pleos and I got a great deal on them from somebody else who bought from him and was selling them for Christmas and did not want them left over so I have extra.             RWM

Wow thats a lot, he probably sells for a few days at a time to get people do buy them while supposedly they will only be on another four days. :P
Does it come with the extra battery it is supposed to come with???
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: kat on February 28, 2012, 07:16:24 AM
Yes it does :)  I bought one from him and am very happy with it.  It came with everything it should and works perfectly. I will happily recommend him.
Title: Re: Lots of Pleo questions!
Post by: Lunamione7 on February 28, 2012, 08:01:13 AM
Stephan is one of that sellers Pleos ;D They arrive brand new in their boxes with the extra battery and they are tested to make sure they are working before beeing shipped. If you have a problem they are good at providing refunds you just have to pay the return postage (which is a normal thing to have to do) if it turns out to be faulty. From what other buyers have said if it arrives faulty they send another one.

I'm sure they will still have some Pleo left in March and July :) I started watching their auctions in about October last year and they still have Pleos after all that time so I'm sure you will be able to grab one in March.

Yes as it comes with two batteries I hope one is a girl and one a boy. I will send some pics once I get it, which it hasn't even shipped or has just been shipped not long ago. It should be here on monday or tuesday. And if it was possible I was looking for some names that would work on a girl or boy.

He did arrive but you probably already new that from the chat box.  %) There is some things I have been wondering, for example it came with some kind of ID card and it said to register it at pleoworld.com so that I can check for updates but you can only register a pleo rb? And it came with a charger out put for hong kong and france and that sort of place so I couldn't charge but luckely we had a thing to that you can plug into the out put and it will be normal. :D

Thank you for the kind comments Lotti!  :sheep1: I might have posted this in an earlier post but it is quiet worrying so..... Any way,Pickles makes a cracking noise all most every time she stretches out to sleep and I am a bit worried ( actually a lot worried ) @<  :cat:  :sheep1:

Don't worry Camcam - it happens a lot.  The Pleo gears have a clutch system that clicks if the motor is stopped from moving for any reason.  This sometimes happens when the Pleo tries to sleep and the head pushes against the foot - the sound you hear is the protection working. :)

.... and, by the way, all the upgrades/downgrades are here in the downloads section if you ever DO decide you want to use them :)

You first need to know what OS your Pleo is running - I'm guessing Pickel will be on 1.1 and will move when sitting and do the rising-and-falling song when tickled under the chin?

The only ugrade would be the OS2, and you'd need an SD card for that .... I always get 2MB ones. :)

Ok but what about the skits and personalities and everything else?

You'd need the same sort of SD card. :)

Camcam - if you go to the gallery you can create an album for your pics and I'll put them in there for you.  You can then add comments if you want.

If you want to add a pic from the gallery to one of your posts, copy the BBC embed code from underneath each pic and paste it into yout post.  That's it. :)

Wow the last one with the flowers is pretty famous! I love that one to.  :-* It is actually not a dress, it is a frilly build a bear shirt, and a frilly kinda transparent blue skirt with designs, again for build a bear!  :P

The manual suggests that the battery should take 4 hours to charge and you will get 2 hours play time.  Mine all only take 3 hours to fully charge and I get the full 2 hours of play :)

Mine when I got it, only took, I think 20 mins to half an hour to fully charge, so would have been almost fully charged, but the next charge took 4 hours, but now think it is more like 3 hours and get at least 2 hours, sometimes more then this, depends on how active he is.
