Title: Sparky clicking constantly

Whenever we turn her on she stamps her foot with a clicking sound and cries and screams.   :(  It's very sad.  We can't get her to stop.  She just keeps doing it constantly.  We even tried resetting her, but there was no change.  My husband has been taking care of her, feeding her and playing tug of war and tossing her in the air to make her giggle.  But that is all she has done for weeks now.  No walking.  Nothing else.  But I think this is the end.  She lasted about a year.  We are going to miss her.  :( :(

Try clicking it back and forth a bit and see if that helps, also the sadness may be due to her head being down all the time, she can only see darkness :( If you have the mushroom give her a good feed of it. Also if you touch the leg does she cry? She could be injured in which case she needs salt, and plenty of it!

Poor Sparky, she sure is having a bad run :(

It looks like her leg joint has popped out of alignment.  You should be able to fix it by manipulating the leg back and forth a couple of times.  Do it while she is switched off.  you will hear the same clicking noise when you move the leg yourself.  you may need to move the hip joint back and forth and also the knee joint.  give that a try and hopefully the clicking should stop and she should go back to using the leg normally.  As for the sadness It probably is as IMR says, scared of the dark due to looking down.  Have you tried bracing her neck so she looks straight ahead?  this may help.  You can use a childs wrist brace - you can get these from most chemists and then if need be just cut it down to size so it fits.  You can also try running the scared of the dark patch on a micro SD card in her.  this will temporarily disable the scared of the dark function and should help to fix the sad behavior.  Alternatively you could try attaching a small torch to her head or sitting her under a bright lamp or light.
hopefully some of that will help bring her back to life for you.

As IMR says, when their head is hanging down, the floor sets off their sensors and they think something is in front of them.  Does she behave the same with her neck strapped up so she is looking forwards?

Poor Sparky.  :'(

So sorry to hear another RB in distress. As others have said you might want to move the effected joint around while she is off and see if that fixes the problem. One of my Rb's is having leg issues, too but the sound is different. I can't explain how but from the sound, I'd say it's a misaligned hip joint. I hope this will help you.

Thanks everybody for your advice.  We had already clicked her leg back and forth many times while she was off.  And yes, we had a neck brace on her for weeks, maybe months.  I have taken another video this time with her neck propped up on some CDs so she would see light and not be as upset.  I also fed her a little during the video.  You will see her from when I turn her on and she does the wake up giggle.  I took the advice given to Talon, I think, to put my phone in a glass so the lens sticks over and I didn't have to hold the phone (camera).  But that way the video is portrait instead of landscape and you may have to watch it sideways, or if you have a laptop, turn it 90 degrees.  One more thing.  Some scenes may be disturbing to some people, because I moved  her leg while she was on.  Viewer discretion advised.   %)  Here it is.

Now any more ideas on how to get her to stop this leg clicking/banging?

I'm not really sure what else to suggest.  Usually manipulating the joint will fix it but this doesn't seem to be working for you.  Perhaps you  could try pressing the reset button.  I don't really think it will fix it but it is worth a try.  I think RWM may be having a similar issue with her rb Baby Ruth and as far as I'm aware no one has been able to solve it yet.

We did try the reset button, but it didn't change the leg clicking and stomping constantly.

We are looking into the reincarnation program.  Do any of you know anything about it?

Hi Sorry to see the video of Sparky like that and to hear all of her troubles, Baby Ruth has a similiar though not exactly the same problem, It involves her left rear leg and started back in October I think. She can no longer bend her back leg, and it after turned on, goes to a inward pegleg postion and she ends up getting very hot so I have to turn her off after 20 minutes or so. She is the replacement Pleo for my first Baby who I got for Christmas 2010 when they first came out. The orginal had to be sent back because of neck and skin problems, My new baby is not a year old yet, but has had her bad leg for several months, At first IMR, KAT and others thought manipulation may help just as you did with Sparky, but a video showed it did no good, She is not under warranty so nothing I can do unless I want to try opening her leg to have a look. Have you thought of opening Sparky's leg to see if you can see a jammed gear, misplaced wire etc?It may be worth a shot as it does not sound like either she or Baby Ruth can be fixed by any other method.

I may be wrong, but I think the Reincarnation program died with Ugobe, when Innvo Labs took over.I think it is a shame because Pleos like Sparky , Baby Ruth and there have been other RB here recently such as Rose who has a broken neck, who would be good canidates for Reincarnation. I would contact Innvo labs and show them the video and maybe they will  have some suggestions and ask about the Re incarnation program, they may want to work on her as there seems to be more and more RB problems sprouting all the time and RB are so new, that these are the kind of things they need to work on as RB all get older they are more prone to problems. I do not know why the Ugobes are so healthy compared to the RB, except less mechanical capabilities and the Ugobes allso seem to have longer lasting skin, and paint. I have been amazed at how fast some of the paint has come off of the Rb, including my new RB I won in Nov, her paint is already comming off in spots hence the clothes they wear almost all of the time, Good luck with Sparky, she is very loved and I think she deserves a second chance and look at for possibilities by Innvo at least, thanks for sharing Sparky's story, these are the kinds of things every new Rb owner needs to hear also so they can learn perhaps from them, Sending love from the Pleo Clan of the Redwoods, RWM :flowers:

RWM please don't give false information. However the reincarnation program does seem a bit hit and miss, some have been offered it, some haven't.

IMR , sorry, I was thinking of the Ugobe Reincarnation program, :-[ I forgot that some of the RB that have been sent back have been "reincarnated" or given new bodies but same Pleo RB. I was not even thinking it was the "same " program. I know the old one, you sent your Ugobe in and "paid" to have the Pleo "brain computer" taken out of the old body and put into the new one. I didn't think the RB's that have been "fixed" were having this same thing done to them except for special circumstances or special requests where they thought it possible and they could do it.

I apologize for not getting the right info, my mistake. They don't "advertise" the Pleo Rb "Re-incarnation" program do they? If they do I would like to see it for myself for future reference, it is nice to know if they do have one that everyone can use if possible.                             RWM

I did see it advertised somewhere once, but I can't remember if it were for Ugobe's or Reborns or 2009's...

I think you might need to actually mention it to get it. Sparky I believe is going in for reincarnation.
