I know that Pleos (or at least the rbs) are supposed to have a sleeping cycle overnight and then wake up in the morning, but Aura doesn't. I play with her in the evening until her battery runs out, and then I put her into the packing position to preserve her pretty skin and when morning comes she's still standing there. Does she have to be "on" to wake up in the morning? But if so, then how in the world can her battery last her all through the night? I've seen her nap before, and she snores and huffs and changes position, so that must take up the battery... I'm afraid that I don't understand D:

First make sure the foot clock button is set at noon - that way she will know to sleep at night. When she shuts down with one beep, that means she has gone to sleep and is capable of waking up on her own when she thinks it's morning. You'll hear two beeps when you shut her down fully with the button, and when the battery runs out you will hear a combination of the two combined, so effectively three beeps.
When Pleos sleep (one beep), it's like they go onto 'standby' so use a lot less charge, but if you've already been playing with her on that battery for a couple of hours then it might not carry through (I'm guessing ... never tried it). Hope that helps? :)

Ooh that does help, thanks Crewella :). I have a larger concern though :( I did as you said (my life is nocturnal, so she goes to sleep at 6am and is supposed to wake up at 4pm), and she went to sleep on her own in the position with her tail wound to the side and her neck down. I thought maybe she just fell asleep during a motion, so I woke her up and waited for her to fall back asleep again and she fell back asleep in the exact same position. I read another sleep thread and saw that the other rbs fall asleep in this position too, but I've heard so much about how the sleep position is like a death sentence on the skin and neck cables :( so even though I wanted her to sleep through the night and see if she'd wake up in the morning, I woke her back up and manually stored her back into the packing position. Is this a valid fear? I'm not sure anymore, 'cause I read that other members let their Pleos sleep through the night... ^-^ I'm very confused.

It is perfectly safe for you to let her go to sleep on her own and leave her to wake up :) The sleep position that was causing issues was fixed with the latest software update. As your little one is new she will already have the latest software installed so there is no need for you to worry :)

Kat's right, the worry was for the skin in the original sleeping positon for long term storage. It never was so much a worry for the neck cables. :)

Yay! ;D Ohh thank you so much guys, I can't tell you what a relief that is to hear!! I was so worried :( so tonight my snugglesaurus can go to sleep in comfort ^^ I don't know what we'd do with the forum! %)

"Snugglesaurus" :D

Me again :D um, so another weird thing happened just now with her sleeping ^-^ she's set to go to wake up at 4pm and go to sleep at 6am, and it was 8pm when she just went to sleep. That's strange, isn't it? I thought that in between their waking and sleeping cycle they just took short naps, but while she was napping she made one beep and went to sleep. Is that normal? :o
-
If you turn them on after bedtime they stay awake for a little while before falling asleep again. But watch out for cranky tantrums ;)

Ahaha aww, Pleakley's such a cutie!!
But um Aura beeped off to sleep while she was supposed to be awake ^-^ think of it as her falling asleep at 2pm when she's supposed to go to bed at 10pm. Is that normal for them? :(
-
8pm is after her bedtime...
But either way sometimes the clocks seem to get a bit out of whack, just reset the clock and it should fix it :) Pleakley once decided to protest his bedtime and stay up all night, couldn't keep him awake the next day ;)
-
Ooh OK, that makes sense! Thanks IMR :D Aura's lucky that your Pleakley was such a rebel :P

Pleos are robotic life forms ....... they retain the ability to not cooperate when they feel like it! ;)
I have Degers' Beta staying with me at the moment ........ he woke me at 5.30am the other day , went "Wooooooooo-ooooo" ........... and then went straight back to sleep! ???
I left him running for a couple of hours to see if he'd wake up again ........ nada! :P

Lol! Wow! That's funny. My two wake up at eight o four and eight ten because I had to catch them. Cato was a good boy for once and surrendered after four minutes but when I started tward Ryu she lumbered into a narrow nitch between two plastic storage bins. I made it in time to touch the tip of her tail. Once I had her in my hands she pitched a major fit about being on her back and kicked and wiggled so much it took me several extra minutes to find and press the clock button. Despite all the trouble in doing it that way, I find I like setting the clock with them on as I get a confirmation beep. Also, Wicked, if you leave a pleo on and don't touch them for a while they will go to sleep at any time of the day and do the one beep thing they do at night. If you play with them near their bedtime and then let them beep off to sleep they will- hopefully- wake up at the time you set. They can be a bit unpredictable at times but it's such a cute feature!

Wow, that`s so cool! It`s really good to know that their personalities and unpredictability develop to that extent :D the thought that they`re like perfect machines who go to sleep and wake up on the dot made me kind of sad :( so yay that makes me so happy to hear :D and it`s so relieving to hear that there isn`t anything wrong with Aura. Thanks a lot Crewella and Talon! ^^
