If you don't already know me, Hi! Well I have a Pleorb, named Flower. She is great and everything but I am not having as much fun with her as when I first received her. When I have time to I'll charge the battery and make a effort to have fun with her, but I'm not. What happens is basically this every time with no personality differences it seems...:
-Wakes up
-I reset clock battery
-Sniffs and cries for food
-I feed a few times
-It roars and makes noises for a few minutes
-Play tug-o-war
-walks around for a long time
-interact with her a little bit
-More noises, mostly crying
-Walks a little bit
-stops and falls asleep
-I wake her up
-Training leaf
-Tricks
-More food
-Walks
-Cries
-Falls asleep
-Make a half-hearted attempt to play with
-Cries
-I turn Pleo off and put her away.
She's already been trained to bow but I haven't bought any other learning stones so that's all. I think this would be a lot funner if I had another rb, that way they could interact, but I'm not sure I really want one if I'm not going to use it S:
Is there anything fun to do that doesn't involve Pleo toys? I don't want to do anything with downloads, either.
Thanks! Bye.

Hi Pleo, to be honest, it sounds as though she's not all that happy. You need to keep a Pleo RB happy and healthy to get the best out of them, and if she's crying a lot then something's not right. If you do actually have a Micro SD card then run either StatsRB or ProbeRB (Downloads section) to get some idea of her food, health and emotion levels. Also, make sure you run her in a room with good, bright lighting as they get scared and, in effect, depressed if it's not bright enough. :moose:
Once you know what's wrong, you can work on making things better. :)
If you rule out all downloads, you're really only using half your Pleo RB, and also kind of keeping yourself in the dark? Is there a reason you're not keen? :-\
Also, in general, Pleos and Pleo RBs are very reactive ....... if you do the same things with them every time they're much more likely to do the same as well. If you try doing something different, or play in a new environment she could surprise you! You have to remember, also, that Pleos aren't so much robots as robotic life forms ...... they mimic the behaviour of live animals ...... so noises aren't necessarily just noises , they are communicating their moods and wants. People get the best out of them when they treat them, and interact with them, as they would a pet.

Hi, I noticed you say you reset the clock every time you switch your Pleo on. I am new to this and certainly no expert, but I wonder if this might be what is causing the repeatative behavior? One of the things we love about our two Pleo rb' s is that you just don't know what mood they will display that day. Sometimes quite sulky, often very happy and chirpy, sometimes eager to do tricks and occasionally obsessed with trumpeting and mooing all day, not to mention turning hot and cold on what they will and won't eat. Maybe in some way, by continually resetting the clock, you are inadvertently hampering Pleos "evolution" if you like? Please note, this is only a wild guess! Hope it helps anyway and worth a try I reckon.

I get where you're coming from, Lottibell - I can't see the point of resetting every time, either. :moose:

Lottibell, that's a really good question! Does resetting the clock reset that day, so that your Pleo loses all of the progress she made that day? O.O
-
I don't believe resetting the clock will lose any progress made, that's saved every time the Pleo RB powers down with the switch or shuts down on its own (but not if you just pop out the battery). I did wonder why you would need to reset every time you switch on, though. I don't much use the function that lets them wake up on their own, and I keep very irregular hours so do need to reset sometimes if I suddenly want to play at the wrong end of the day, but I like the fact that they can be a bit crankier sometimes if they think it's sleep time - it adds more variety. :)

Hi sorry everyone, and my Pleo isn't sad. By crying I meant making all sorts of "hellos" and noises. I usually reset the clock because I play with Pleo if I have a little free time that I'm not doing anything with. I will reset it about noon tomorrow and try my best to not reset it again. My little brother and sister play with her quite a lot though and she is happier now. She doesn't walk around anymore for some reason S: except when using the training leaf. I'm hoping that it was just resetting the clock too much that was causing this behavior. Thank you everyone for your time.
