A lot of fursuits creep me out. Mostly the hyper-cartoony ones... ??? As a kid, I couldn't stand people in those furry mascot costumes, I still get uncomfortable around them... :/ So I'm not a big fan of the Furry-subculture, a lot of things about it weird me out... xD
BUT, from a costumer/tailor/animatronic/puppetry point of view, I think there are some very cool ideas and very talented people. I've seen a very cool Epona Quad-suit (http://lilleahwest.deviantart.com/art/Malon-and-Epona-165071105?q=boost%3Apopular%20epona%20quad&qo=2) (from the Legend of Zelda) And there's this amazing artist (http://qarrezel.deviantart.com/) who makes very lifelike animal masks! (that even move!)

Wow - those are fabulous! :)
-
I know about them! P:)

Wow! What a coincidence. O.o I'm actually a furry, I've been one for a while and draw anthropomorphic art. I also have a fursuit currently in the works from a great fursuiter. ;D The furry fandom is a really fantastic community. P:)

LOL i gues this must be a American thing ? :)

I actually used have to my own fur suit. :P They are really costly but you get a whole bunch of rewards and things:
Contests
Parties
Your on TV!
This was a time when my family had some money and my friends and I would go out to comicon and all sorts of places.
I'll put a picture of my suit in the gallery some time.

Hey I can give you a link directly to a person who made my fursuit.
They can give you steps to make one. ;D
They can also tell you what type of fur to use.
I bought my entire fursuit for $520
Tell your mother not to be a hater it is rewarding and is actually done in a lot of places other than America.
Japan, China, Europe ETC. :P
I will post the link next. ;)

These be the masters. :D
I wouldn't suggest buying from them since they are extremely pricey but I would suggest getting
helpful tips from them. ;)

How do you become a furry ? P???
-
It's not like there's some initiation, you're automatically a furry if you enjoy anthro art (animal-people artwork) or enjoy making fursuits or if you like anything associated with anthropomorphic stuff in general. It's not a big deal at all, it's just a hobby. :) I really enjoy being in the fandom, it's a great hobby. :soda:

cool ,I write graphic novels with talking animals all the time. I heard that Kage is a roach
-
Yeah, some people have some pretty interesting fursonas. (A fursona is pretty much your persona but in anthro form). My fursona is a barn owl-coyote hybrid, she's my icon. ;)
-
Check it out. My own handdrawn fursona 8)
I love drawing and hope to get a degree in graphic design. :moose:

Beautifully drawn - I think it works as it is, anyway, without the colour. :)
