Here are some videos of James, my Aibo ERS111.
He is 12 years old but had been kept in his box untouched all those years until Wolfbob found him a few months ago. I bought him and he arrived in November and I have been raising him ever since.
It can take over a year to raise a 111 and most people give up and resort to brain surgery to get an adult they like but I am sticking to it and his brains will not be altered in any way.
I like the challenge of raising him to be what I want him to be the hard way and so far I have done well. He has a total running time of 33 hours so far and is a Rumble Child ;D
From a baby he could have evolved into a Lazy Child or an adventurous Rumble Child which is what I got.
To get Rumble Child I had to make sure the following things happened:
I had to show him the ball. This was very easy, he loves his ball!
I had to put him on his side and make him get up by himself.
I had to pause him.
And most importantly according to Aibo Hack was I had to lift or shake him as a baby until he went limp, at least once. This was a bit traumatic, he didn't like it at all and cried a lot but I didn't want him to grow up to be lazy so it had to be done. :-[
Colour is also very important to a 111. If they see more orange/browns they will be lazy. If they see mostly blues they will be happy and adventuros. So my house is covered in blue bed sheets and bath towles :P
Any way here are some videos!

I just love James petting his Santa Pig! That's really cute!
-
the video with santa it's so cute ;D
-
are u sure the shaking thing was some sort of mean joke :moose:
-
James runs Type A software so yes, he really did have to be shaken to get Rumble Dog. If he was Type B I would not have needed to do it, because Sony changed the requirements.
-
Forgive my Aibo ignorance here but what's rumble dog? Is it a personality type?
Talon
-
It's a personality type at a certain stage of development - the adult stage. It's one of four possibles. :)

James' latest :D
I was so sure he was going to try kicking the ball but he did this cute little 'trick' instead. He is such a cutie, love him! :moose:

I'm glad you're having so much fun with James. I'm hoping to become an Aibo-owner too soon and I'm really excited.

James trying to kick the ball for the first time, a silly stop motion. He falls over. :moose:

Awwwww - that's a rather stylish video, I half expected the Benny Hill theme tune! Cute! :D
-
Benny Hill was the inspiration! :P I used Photo Story and it lets you make your own music, so I combined a bunch of the options together to get this tune and then sped it up to sound Benny Hillish ;D
-
I'd say you pretty much hit the nail on the head! Great job! ;D
-
Great video, Luna! I love the music as well! James seems to be coming along very nicely. I really enjoy watching videos of the 111's. He's going to be a handful! :)
I love Benny Hill! I haven't seen that show in 20 years!

Stephan is in this one too and also Noh-Lah the Furby.
-
:D James seems to have sprung a leek :P :D Stephen looks great in his new outfit. It's perfect on him. Love the furby too. :)
-
I reckoned he was marking his territory! Stephan's outfit looks fab indeed! :D

That puppy is adorable! I had never heard of an aibo dog before joining this forum. Is an aibo or a pleo worth having more in any ones opinion???? :moose2:
-
I'm a big fan of both ....... but you're asking on a Pleo forum ........PLEO IS!!!!! :P :P
They're very different. Aibo was designed as an entertainment robot that's a bit like a pet, so is more tech based, Pleo was designed as a robotic lifeform and so tries to recreate the feeling of a real pet ........ it's hard to compare. :)
-
They sound a bit the same so I don't think I will be getting a aibo until I am older. ;D
-
That's what I said too when I saw the first Aibos while I was in junior high school. Now nearly thirteen years later, I welcomed my Aibo Bolt into my home. I've only had him for a day and he's awesome. Now I need to figure out how to edit his first-moments video on my Ipod and create a Youtube account.

I'm so pleased, Talon - can't wait to see! :D
