Title: Hi guys!
Post by: sherylsparrow on November 06, 2011, 04:45:10 PM
Hi I'm new in the forum, my name is Sheryl and I ordered a Pleo a week ago. He arrived to Peru on Friday so as the postal service is not open on weekends I'll be taking him home tomorrow, finally. I was wondering are there more peruvian owners out there?

Thanks a lot, guys! I'm very excited and I'm making my boyfriend crazy with all the "let's prepare the room for the baby" talk. The annoying post service lady didn't let me take Pleo home yesterday because she said "Your package number is not ready for deliver today. Come back tomorrow" So I'm trying again this afternoon. I'm very proud to think I'm the first peruvian Pleo owner, it makes me feel special ;D
When I know the name of my Pleo I would let you guys know *crazy excitement laugh*. My Pleo is an Ugobe, is there a way to know his/her gender or that is just for the RBs?

They did not develop the idea of different genders until the RBs, so Ugobe Pleos can be whatever you want!  :D

Cool! Thanks for the information :) So I did pick up Pleo yesterday and the first time I saw him was great. I haven't turn him on yet because I wasn't sure about the plug and I was afraid to ruin the charger. I think I will wait until tomorrow because my boyfriend is working late today and I want to see him wake up together :P We bought him a pair of clothes, when I have pictures I will show you :D

Hi guys! I turn Pleo on yesterday afternoon but the first thing I did before that was to update him to PM2 because I didn't want kill his personality after we had grew to loved him. I was very happy when he walk up and start sniffing and making sounds. Then he stand up and try to walk. We start petting him and he even shiver a little when his daddy touched his back. I think he tried to sing two times because he sang three notes. Then I started to get scare because the only thing he did was walk a little and then walk backwards, scream and make eating sounds even if the leave was not in his mouth and curl like he was sleeping. I want to know if that's normal because I'm afraid maybe I failed when updating him. I waited until the battery died and then turn him off (the battery lasted a little bit more than an hour). I haven't turned him on since that. Please tell me if something is wrong I'm really worried. Thanks a lot.

Hello Sheryl
From what I read on the Forum the behaviour sounds normal for the beginning stages of OS 2.0  Apparently they go through a pretty long adolescent, teenager stage where they whine and are not very sociable.  It can last around 4-8 batteries.  I haven't had the courage to upgrade my two yet because they are very lovable as they are.  It seems they do settle down though so you just need to have patience.  If you are using a green battery then an hour's worth of play seems about right.

When OS2 first came out a lot of us went through that panic, but you need to keep running him.  I'll swear it took about eight battery cycles before Iggy was back to his normal self (or I was reassred that he was) but he got there - others have said around six battery cycles.  Until then you will get inappropriate sounds, freezes and general stroppiness ....... and a lot of walking backwards. :)
