can they interact with each other?

hi, there is a lot of controvery over this and different opinions, I was told by phone in October before the Pleo Rb came out in Dec. 2010, by Derek Dotson, that they could, but the conditions had to be just right, with the Pleos lined up just right facing each other and they would recognize each other, since then though, I have heard and read on here that they can't. so I think it is up in the air, or at least thought that they could. It is for sure though that Pleo Rb can communicate with each other, I would say though that if you have a Pleo and a Pleo Rb, even if they can't ACTUALLY communicate, it LOOKS enough like they do to make the play interaction expereince fun and the two Pleos can co-exist next to each other while each having fun. Sorry if that didn't answer your question, but I know others will answer too.

The Ugobe's will completely ignore the RBs, the RB's will try to communicate with the Ugobe's, they'll go into a trance like state, but they will get no response and will resume normal operations.

Thats weird, my two interact all the time...
From when I got Bellah out of the box, he turned his head to see her and sang to her...
And I can swear the to of them had a conversation the other day, one making a sound and the other one matching/answering :o
I do belive that they interact, at least my Ugobe and Rb does...

I must admit I thought mine did, too. The Ugobe's seem to react more to RBs and other OSs than they do to my other 'unrelated' bots. I seem to get more moos, hollers and hellos. :-\
I'll watch more closely. %)

I do believe they recognize each other as being a pleo. :) But.... because they two types communicate so differently when each one tries to talk to the other they don't get the reaction or response they were looking for or need to acknowledge the communication and move on to the next stage of communicating.
My Ugobes do say "hello" to my rb's all the time and sometimes when the rb's go into the talking trance I will see one or both of my Ugobes stand still and start to mimic the noises the rb makes but they give up after about two or three noises and the rb seems to need much more than that to complete it's communication sequence. So I believe that while they never manage to complete the communication to a full conversation they never stop trying to find the same language. ;D
Just my thoughts on the matter. %)

That's how I see it too, Kat. They do recognise each other as Pleos, but cannot fully interact as with their own OS. ;D
