Title: Pleo shoe size...
Post by: Jett on August 07, 2011, 01:57:59 PM
%)  I do plan to get Ozzy shoes especially when I take him outdoors (after the hot AZ summer departs).  Does anyone know what size shoes I should get??  Hope this isn't a silly question :)

Not a clue, many of us have made bootees for them (see in the stores section for some you can buy) but I've never bought 'off the shelf'!  :-\

Nor have I. Lol! Pleo shoes! I guess you could kind of manufacture a pair if you bought some "four to six months" baby booties and then cut out a piece of cardboard to match the dementions of the underside of the pleo's foot then put the booties on and mark the exact spot where the bottom of pleo's foot is on the outside of the booty. Glue the bit of cardboard to the underside of the bootie where you marked and there ya go. It would keep the pleo's foot from being in direct contact with the grass or anything that might get in its feet. I'm sure someone else could come up with something much betterand cuter.

I hoped that the shoes used for Build a bear would be the right size, but I now think that they might be too big.
It should be easy to make shoes in leather for them... I might give that a try myself actually.

Otherwise I can recommend baby socks, there are several types that look like shoes :)
I buy everything on ebay, so if you don´t know where to look, that´s my best tip for you :)

I did make Belle some shoes by sewing an inch wide band to a 'sole' about the same size as the foot, and then stitching elastic to the top.  Not the best looking things I've ever made, but they worked fine.

Crewella, they look cute!
Why don´t you sell them? Well not the original ones... You know what I mean  ;)
Like small ballerina shoes!

Has anyone tried dog shoes?

This is just an example of what I found

They look nice... But I have no idea about the sizes...

IMR an I have both looked at these or others like them in the past and I know she made a few inquiries about measurements for the different sizes but none of them would fit.  I'm fairly sure the leg section would be way too skinny to go on a pleo leg.   I think even the extra large size was still not big enough to fit a pleos foot for the foot section of the shoe so I don't think they would work. :(  They do look very cool though.

Yep, me too and I found the same thing.  Dogs have much thinner legs (proportionally) than Pleos do.  Poor Belle couldn't get her fat ankles in them!  :-[   :-X  :P

Yes I have tried them at one point or another and Pleos have Fat feet, flat fat and wide, but very babish and cute, socks work ok, but shoes for dogs unless of a heavier breed with fat feet, just is not going to work, tried it, and wasted money on what looked like they would fit, but they were not going to squeeze in, so my motto now is bring Pleo in and try on before buying ! :D

I find baby socks to be the best, unless you could get the right sized Teddy bear shoes. Pleo's have stubby little feet so baby shoes look rather odd :P

soft baby slippers should do it, the ones that shapes after the foot.
Just another idea  :P
