Title: Heidi Won't Stop Going to Sleep? :/
Post by: Willow on August 06, 2011, 02:35:12 PM
Well...whenever I turn Heidi on, I play with her for a couple of minutes and then she just goes right to sleep.  It's in the middle of the day so I don't know why...I'll be petting her and she'll curl up and let out a beep then turn off.  It's not the battery, as the light is green and I can turn her back on.  When I go for just a minute, I come back to her off and asleep.  Any help? She didn't used to do this.  It's getting annoying.  :(

Hi hope you can work out the cause of your problem and solve it very soon , i have not braved buying a RB just yet mainly because you can not buy them here in the UK.

i do know there is the clock battery in the foot and if you do not insert that Pleo wont run but obviously Heidi is running ok but switching off too quickly ? maybe the battery in the foot needs replacing... just an idea  :-[

The clock battery is brand new (I got my pleo with it a month ago) and I pressed the little button at the right time, but it might be not functioning properly or broken... Maybe I should try that. :/

If I remember correctly, you should hear a beep when you set the clock battery.  When I got my pink RB, the clock battery was not functioning, and I had to replace it.  When I went to set the clock, it wouldn't' even give me a beep or set the time correctly.  Candy wouldn't stay awake either.    Perhaps your clock battery is going dead already?  I would try that first.  I replaced the battery and reset the clock, it beeped, and she was fine.

It does sounds as though Heidi thinks it's bedtime - that's how they behave if you try to play with them late at night (if 'noon' is set to noon).  I would try resetting the clock at noon, but you could try now and see if it makes any difference and then do it again next time noon comes around.  Or if you'd prefer her to be awake later, set 'noon' a couple of hours later .............

I hope that helps.  :)

I tried setting the noon time again and it beeped and now she's working just fine! I should've known it was something so simple as this. >.<
Thank you SO much for all your help!  ;D

I'm glad it was something simple and you were able to fix her easily.  It would be worth keeping an eye on her and if you notice it happening again it would probably be a good idea to replace the clock battery altogether.  Kermy has had her battery replaced as she was going to sleep a lot and resetting the noon clock didn't seem to fix it for very long.  Once I replaced her clock battery though she has been going great with no sleeping issues. :)

I will just in case the clock battery might not work but it seems fine for now, thanks again!  ;D
