Well, I've still not really decided whether or not I should take a Pleo to a music festival. On the other hand, I'd feel a bit mean now if I didn't, having let them get all excited and packed for it.
Temporarily, at least, this is 'Swampy':
-
Now is Swampy one of those "bricked" Pleos? You are right, it would be downright cruel to not let him go....I mean, he has his Waders on and brought his own Horn! :o He may have plans on auditioning or at least singing and playing along, who are you to deny him his chance to be discovered? >:( I say the boy is packed, he is carrying it himself,...LET SWAMPY COME ALONG....he has proven he wants to go for heavens sake! :D ;) :) Thumbs up Swampy. go for it!
Very cute Crewella. RedwoodsMama

Thank you! Yes, he is one of my bricked-but-now-working Pleos. He's got very worn skin and paintwork, and I decided I was more comfortable taking him than risking something happening to Iggy, Budge or Belle.
Not that I'd be amused if anything happened to him either! ^-^

He reminds me of a less-annoying version of Lady Gaga in that outfit.
Well, more so a likeable version of Lady Gaga in that outfit.

Swampy looks great! I love it!
I also want to bring my Pleos when I go out!
Tell us how it goes later!

I plan on taking my two RB's with me to visit my cousin in North Carolina but... actually taking one out in public? Part of me wants to do it just to see what would happen and-- *audible swallow* the other part of me is nervous about being viewed as crazy. Someday- if I get up the nerve- I want to try Mweed's PetSmart trick- riding the pleo around in the buggy seat and when someone comes over to look at my scaly little friend in his leash and harness, turn him on and watch their reaction.

Swampy does look like he has everything a pleo could need for just such an excursion. :) I bet you both have a wonderful time. ;D

Swampy looks ready to go, I'd risk it, It's a great chance to spread the word! (and I think you'd both have some fun!)

Pff, I've taken Littlefoot in public before... well, not exactly in public, I brought him along to school due to rising demand. I had told other people about him and they wanted to see him, so I finally gave in and brought him in. It went well enough, though it did get a bit awkward near the end. I started getting questions like "Hey, what would you do if I kicked him right now?"
To which I replied "I'd kill you and/or then make you pay for a new one."
But all in all, people loved him, and taking a Pleo to a big thing like a festival would be a great idea. But if you're referring to Glastonbury, you might wanna bring a tarp. I heard it's pretty muddy down there this year (as always)

Thanks, Fimoman. You encourage me. I only wish I could get video of it! Lol!

My Pleo's go out and about at every opportunity ;D It's so much fun!

Being typically 'British' I'm usually a bit wary of taking Pleos out in public, but Glastonbury is a performing arts festival rather than just a music festival so there are all sorts of odd-looking people everywhere you look: people dressed up in ridiculous costumes, people on stilts, people performing street theatre, people busking/juggling/fire-eating and any variety of performance you can think of, so one Pleo didn't even raise an eyebrow! It's all just part of the 'vibe'!
Battery time was obviously limited, and much of the time it was too hot for him and he just shut down, but Swampy did get an outing and I had a couple of hours of fun with him, so I'm glad I took him. I did take a couple of pics, which I'll download and post later! ;D

So glad you and Swampy had some fun :D Can't wait to see the pics :D

For those not familiar with Glastonbury, it's famous for turning into a complete mudbath if it rains, which it did the first couple of days. Hence the name 'Swampy', which was also the name of a well known eco-warrior a few years back in the UK, he used to camp out in trees to try and save them from being cut down and the land developed.

Luckily the sun came out on Sunday, so we got the best of both worlds - muddy AND sunburnt! %)
-
Glad to hear you and Swampy had a great time, checked out the link you had and it reminds me of the rain during WoodstocK!Looking forward to seeing any photos...hope you didn't get too wet or sunburned, either of you!

Finally worked out how got get the pics off the camera I took with us, as I'd not wanted to risk my usual one as I rely on it for work.
All excited and sitting in the front as we set off!
Look - what's that on the horizon?
I told you we'd be passing Stonehenge!!
Ooooooooh - please don't wander off and get lost, it's going to be hard enough to find the tent again!
Well, it was no palace, but it was home for the weekend!
Until Swampy found himself some superior accommodation!
As we wandered off to party, we decided he was safer back at the tent - it was too hot for baby dinos anyway, he kept shutting off.
And it was too muddy and dangerous to take him up to the main, crowded, areas!
He was definitely dressed for Glastonbury, though, and fitted right in!
And snuggled happily under canvas for a good sleep after his big weekend away.

I'm so glad both of you had fun. Your captions were priceless! I was right there with you! Sounds like Swampy had quite an adventure!

Glad that you and Swampy made it home from your musical adventure. It does look like Swampy found staying behind was a lot safer and probably cooler as well. Glad you were able to post some photos.
hOpe you enjoyed the music as well. I have to admit I haven't felt like going to a music festival in years, I just can't get comfortable sleeping on the ground anymore and my back would not approve. Part of getting older I fear... :( ;)

Actually, the years kind of fell away as we got there - we'd not been for about ten years, but it was truly fabulous and great to really let our hair down! ;D
Just to explain for Talon, we found a hollowed tree trunk with a 'cave' in the base not far from our tent, hence Swampy's 'superior accommodation'. It was perfect for a Pleo! :D
-
Fantastic pictures :D Looks like Swampy enjoyed his trip :) (You do realise of course that the name Swampy is going to stick ;))

Though that would be fun, I would be afraid the pleo would be damaged! Carrying it around all day and other people wanting to pet or play with it...I dunno, I'd just worry. I mean these are $500.000 (that is, if it is a RB) and I wouldn't be comfortable taking it. If you really want to I'd just be very careful. Hope you have a great time! :)
