Title: holding pleo
Post by: justbede on March 08, 2009, 03:29:02 PM
Just wondering how you guys hold your robotic buddys just to see if there's a specific way to make pleo feel comfortable while off ground. I often have baxter screaming while i'm trying to find the right way to hold him and always feel really cruel lol.

Usually you will need to have the sensors on the back in cotact if you're holding your pleo upside down (like a baby), or with the foot sensors pressed in if holding like a small animal.

I used to get Matilda to sit when I carried her around shopping, that way she was happy and still moved around to entertain people :) Once sitting you can just place a hand under her rear lol.

Forgot about that!  You're right.  While in sitting mode, many of the sensors are ignored, so your pleo will be well behaved regardless of various other factors while in the sitting mode.

You really need the updated OS though, otherwise Pleo looks pretty lifeless :P

Mweed how could you :o

Bob the Pleo would need a giant keyboard to be able to post here.  I think mweed takes Bob's dictation and types it for him. ;)

Pssst!  hey, you!   yeah, you.  Can you keep a secret?  I also do the typing for Grumpy.   Of course he's a lot harder to type for.  He gets upset a lot and calls me names.  He has been know to smack me with his tail if I'm not typing fast enough, or making too many typos.  But what can you do?  They're just too cute to ignore. ;)

But that post for yesterday was all Bob's fault.  I don't know how many times I've told him to log out when he's finished.   It's bad enough having multiple personalities having to share one computer, and even worse if they won't clean up after themselves!

Hehehe so is that how this is? Mweed is the 'butler' to numerous Pleos? Gee whiz, only on Bobthepleo, eh?

Hey I got a question, Sophie will from time to time sit on her own (at least I don't think I'm helping her). How do I manually make her sit? Thanks.

I think you, gently, push up on the chin and down on the rump. Sometimes tails don't cooperate. ;D

Yay Fancyfont!! Thank you! That would make sense as to why she 'does it on her own'. Hehe, I'm always petting under the chin, and the 'rump' is probably because she's always on my lap.

You don't need to push, just touch both sensors at the same time and help her sit :) She should raise the tail for you, but like Fancy said it doesn't always happen lol.
