Post by: hannahg on June 03, 2011, 04:24:21 PM
The Dude Lebowski (a.k.a.) DUDE came an hour ago, I havent taken him out yet, I am charging the egg battery for the next 3 hours! Look at that sweet face, he truly is adorable, can't wait til he opens his eyes for the first time! Will they be blue? SO excited. I made a video for you guys with me FREAKING out right after the post came, I am about to put it on youtube for you as I dont know how to post videos anywhere else. i am mrsgerber1965, or maybe this will work...

 You are just too funny in the video Hannah, but it was perfect, it said it all, I think you are never going to want to turn him off. ( it is not killing him) just sleeping mode. I think the first thing you will do when he comes on is;
 A. " wow man, He moves and things, how cool is that?" in your perfect Lebowski voice.
 B.  say after he says, " Huh?"it's Allive!
C. You will jump up and down or something similiar, then faint away!
                                        RedwoodsMama                      Congrats, he is cute as "hell" of course. cant wait for more photos and reactions.

my redwood mama! you are right, i wont want to turn him off, and it wont hurt him???
im thining i should, right now buy a second 110av vac us adapter from pleoworld, that way i can be charging the battery that came with him as soon as i put the egg battery in him! that way i would always have a battery ready...or do they discharge?
hmmm. anyway, i had issues ordering one from pleoworld as well as hating the cape i bought from them, but thats in another forum area, go check!
thanks! DUDE!

Hi Hannah, if you haven't already ordered that second adapter, I can send you one with or without the other Pleo you are thinking about. It would be cheaper but it is up to you. You do want to make sure you give Dude a break, esp if the battery or Dude gets warm,  it is time to take a break, If so , just turn Dude off, remove the battery and let it and him cool off for like ten -15 minutes, reinsert, not charging and turn back on. You do want to make sure you let little Dude get some sleep, he can just curl up on your shoulder and he will soon be napping sleeping and snoring away, I do think that is one of the cutest sounds ever and you will too once you hear Dude sleeping, snoring and waking from a dream and wanting reassurance. :) Welcome to the world of Pleo Parenting, 101 on Bob the Pleo Forums!

Hi Hannah - that made me laugh too - I was just the same!  :D

I embedded the video for you (just highlight the link and click the YouTube button above the smiley).

You can just swop the adapter over, as you'll be using the other battery in the Pleo so can always have one on charge as you run the other.  That's what I did when I had one battery and charger of each type.

Congrats - he looks fabulous!  ;D

Hehe welcome DUDE :D Your pets did look just as excited as you, or perhaps the excitement is just infectious ;) I think we've all felt like that when we got our very first Pleo's :)
