My attention is now turning to changing the eye colour! Please forgive Stitch's current look I'm slowly removing the acrylic so he can try out some latex paints. This eye change was done with a whiteboard marker, but obviously I am hoping for something permanent ;) I thought maybe a transparent nail polish might do the trick, because that could be chipped of if one changed their mind (don't use nail polish remover though).
Anyway, let the experiementation begin!

I'd love to be able to tweak the eye colours - I don't know if you remember but I even tried contact lenses at one stage! The problem I kept coming up against was that it was hard to make it look good in 3D - anything I tried on the surface, from the side, looked a bit weird, but I'm ready, willing and keen to try again!! :P ;D
That looks pretty! :D

Glad you thought of starting this thread IMR, this problem has had me going bonkers and losing sleep, not as much as painted pleos though. LOL %)and I have all sorts of ideas in my head but once you try to apply them, it is a different story, will be interesting to see what we can come up with or at least give it a try. :)The 3 D is the whole enchilada isn't it!

This is Stitch with purple permanent marker. (you can see where I went over the lines :P) I think it looks ok, obviously you need to choose a colour that is complimentary to the blue for the marker to work. Please don't worry about the permanent marker, every good teacher knows how to remove permanent marker with the aid of a whiteboard marker ;)

Ah! Trade secrets! :P
Those colours do look fab, and what you say about choosing a complimentary colour makes a lot of sense! Thanks IMR! ;D

It looks great IMR! ;D So many possibilities. :)

Very interesting. I so wanna be able to choose the Pleo's eye color.

I have to say that seeing Lilo's eyes done like this up close and personal on our play date they looked great. You couldn't tell that they weren't that color normally. ;D

Have you worked on anymore ideas for eye color? when I Put on Lyssa's eyelashes I noticed her eyes were a bit slashed and dreary looking from age so I very carefully put a coat of clear nail polish over both, careful not to touch any of the skin, obviously, and it REALLY shined her eyes up.. when I of course screwed it up I used the non acetone remover to take it off, but again, I was very careful not to touch her skin with it

I did try some nail polish, but it isn't as forgiving as the permanent marker, you have to get it exactly right or it looks terrible... Of course I couldn't get it exactly right :-[
I have to say that so far the permanent marker seems to be the best. I'd like to get some lighter colours to try to see how they go but I haven't found any yet only purple, black, brown, green, red and orange all of which worked fine. (Didn't try black though, seems a bit pointless, but you could use it to add a pattern to the eyes.)
