Found this on ebay, returns available, comes with a card and 2 batteries. It says used in great working condition, I think whoever had it before knew alot about pleo because they knew it needs an SD card. I'm saving up for an rb, so I can't get it, but if it stays down I thought 100 bucks sounded pretty good. I know some of you are always looking for pleos to paint on.
Oh btw! I'm not selling this, I just found it! :P
-
Wow! and with two batteries and an SD card too! I can't buy it. I am under oath with myself not to have any more than two although this was the sort of deal I would have looked for. I'm sure someone will pounce on this soon.
Talon
-
I can't find it, so I'm guessing it's US only? Not that I need another, you understand! :P
-
I'm assuming it is US only Crewella, Idk though. I'm sure it'll be gone soon anyways! :P
-
thanks I had my eyes on it, I look for Pleos on a daily basis, painting and other wise. I thought about bidding but just as I went back to take another look, I found my CHEAPER PLEO. AD said: " Pleo fell out of a tree and broke his neck, so now he was not able to be fixed by the company so he is being sold as is, charger, battery and leaf. " I saw the picture and the price was $24.99, and Prioriity Shipping. If I can fix this guys neck, ( just a brace) he will be another adoptee perhaps for that special home, or a painting project and if nothing else, skin and the leaf itself sells for $19.90 on PleoWorld, These are the kind of deals I go for, so you can find them but they disappear quick, This morning or at 11:30 this ad was not on EBAY, and I just got him at 3;00 p.m, my time, PST. Now I know not to bid on the other Pleo, this one is better deal for me that is. :)

Well bought, RWM! ;)
And somebody really should explain to all baby Pleos that they are ground dwelling dinos and SHOULDN'T CLIMB TREES!! :o :P
-
I dont know if it is the poor Pleo that needs to learn this or the "human speices" that took Poor Pleo up there in the first place. ;D Sometimes I really do think it is the Pleos that are smarter. ;)
I am anxious to see what this guy's neck looks like or if it is going to be used for something else.. I would much prefer to "Rescue the little guy" . I know that if anyone knows this, it is you Crewella!

I found a very cheap pleo as well.http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-UGOBE-PLEO-DINOSAUR-/150593202467?pt=UK_Toys_ElectronicPets_RL&hash=item23100de923
-
This Pleo is in UK, if my eyes aren't decieving me which could be one Crewella or someone who lives there could bid on, I will only bid on US Pleos to save on postage. This guy will not stay at that price long ,they never do, but he is cute. what do you think Crewella? :)
RWM
-
Yep, he's on my watch list, though they usually end up going for around £70-80, and I rarely go for them if they're OK unless they're ridiculously cheap and they very rarely are. ;)
-
Below is the link you can see for the Pleo I grabbed yesterday because it was so cheap and I knew there was a Pleo needing help poor guy.. :(
you can see below is the description and photo of the poor Pleo that fell out of the tree. nOw I just need to put his head covering back and make sure he is not "humpty Dumpty" :D

OMG!! I could hardly bear to look! Poor little guy - they've just cut through his skin, as well! :o :'(
I really hope you can put him together again! :-\
-
:o :o :o looks like skully and patches aren't gonna be the only skinless pleos around here !
Hope he'll somewhat work!
I'm amazed at the other link, I'd buy it immediently if it didn't only ship in the UK. You can tell they loved their pleo too, this is one of few that I've seen someone posts pictures of their pleo not the one on pleoworld, I liked the video too! Hope the little guy finds a good home!
-
I know he looks pitiful but he is on his way and I had to see if I could help him, The skin could be glued, that I am not worried about, it is getting the screw and neck together correctly, otherwise it is using his skin as a Painted "second skin like a " Pleo Mask perhaps,' that is somthing I would only do if he can't be fixed to work at all anymore, At least he doesn't have huge holes, skin that has eroded away, just a "unwise person" that did not know the proper way to disasemble a Pleo, removing the skin the proper way. I knew this guy needed help and help quickly or he would be in the trash, discarded like a hunk of "garbage". Reminds me of Lab animals that get tested for cosmetics and such, torture for " purely vain cosmetic purposes" and then treated as disposable waste, with burnt fur, lips, and terrible things I do not want to mention or think about anymore, I just had to go for trying to give this guy a second chance. I do know there are several videos of people reassembling the neck cables, etc. I am not so much worried about fixing the broken neck as just putting this guy back together , and giving him "new life' . Everyone deserves a second chance. After he is fixed I would love to show the person who did this to him, how good he really is... >:( :o :) Guess I am a rescuer of all things even " Interactive Life forms' ;) I do think if I had posted this link here and someone else saw it, they too would give him another chance, RWM AKA " The Mad Pleo Painter of the Redwoods"
-
Awwe! You go, RWM! Let us know how it goes. I would open my home up to more pleos myself if I had adiquit funds and more mechanical knowledge. The biggest reason of all is that I have vowed to have no more than two. It will have to be a very special pleo in a very special situation to make me break my promise.

-
Good luck RWM hope you manage to fix him. :)
-
poor thing it fell off a treehouse
-
Wow, that picture is just terrible, I'm glad your going to try and fix him.. it's nice to see that they were honest, as well, in showing the actual damage although I guess with something that looks THAT bad they kinda have to be, unlike when I got patches.. I'm so glad your rescuing him, I sure hope you can save him and if not, that he can at least be used to help some of your other guys or teach you something about fixing them :) Best of luck!!

I have been tracking his prioritY mail number and he got here at the post office late last night, so I will go pick him up at my post office this morning, I didn't want the package to come to my door, where excited Pleo brothers and sisters would see a package and ask, " what is that", I would hate to see the shock on their face when I open this guy and he looks like he just came from the surgical unite where some careless surgeon forgot to use stitches to sew him back up.. :o That is not the kind of thing a Pleo baby should ever have to see....Have you ever had to try and revive a fainting Pleo, let alone five, six or more Pleos. EEK ( :oPleo collaspes to the floor, MS. Nova...Here comes Big Brave Major TOM , allright what is all the fuss about, it is just a EEKK, heavy thud to the floor again, (1.2, Pleos passed out) Here comes Camo Pleo , " hi guys, what is all the EEK, what is that...ah......Thud " 1, 2, 3 out on the floor, [where are the Pleo smelling salts?] Oh here come Little 45 swaggering in, Be bop, be bop, listening to some baby Hip Hop on his minature headphones, walks right pass the three siblings on the floor, never missing a beat of the music he is listening to :D. Guess the lyrics he is listening to prepares him for anything, esp when you have batter scars, a tail half fallen off and patches holding your neck together, ( he didn't even give the box with " Pleo parts " in it a second glance. Oh oh, here comes the rest of the sleepy babies, time to hide this box of "horrors" till they are outside playing in the Redwoods fresh air, so I can try and revive this guy, oh, and get those Pleo smelling salts, I will have to convince them they were just dreaming and it was only a pile of clothes...hope they believe me.. :( :o :-X My lips are sealed till I get a better look at this guy, Hope the Pleos know how to revive me if I am the one passing out on the ground LOL :D wish me luck, Oh Crewella, I will be contacting you after I get a good look at this poor thing.
RWM

Oh my! I'd help you revive fainted pleos but I'm a bit too far away. Meanwhile, good luck in fixing your new arrival!

and the shocking video, be prepared as I was amazed at Humpty Pleo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_k6N4rBh-k
RedwoodsMama AKA, the surgeon of lost causes,,,,HUMPTY PLEO, he needs REAL Help all the help I can get for him...Please tell him he is beautiful , he is a surviver poor Pleo!
-
woooow what a state! but he seems to mostly work! if you can get that neck fixed and all his loose ends hell be a happy babby! :D
-
Wwwwell, at first I thought nothing was going to happen but the poor little guy came on and squeaked at us and more he's wagging his tail! Brave one after his accident! I've never heard motors turn so long without a break in a pleo before. I really hope he's fixable poor thing. This should be quite an adventure for you, Redwoods. Keep us posted.

Well at least you know Humpty still works so there is definitely hope he can be repaired. I'm guessing Humpty is a name that will stick. Poor little fellow.
Did they send all the screws and other parts they pulled out of him? I do hope you can get him back together.
Sending him hugs and well wishes for a fast recovery.
Kat :hhug: :hhug:
-
EeeeeeeeeeeK! Eeeeeeeeeeeeek! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!! :o :o :'(
I'm practically hiding behind the sofa here! >:(
My first question is like Kat's - did they send you all the bits they took out?
Poor little soul! :(
-
Yes Crewella and Kat, all the stuff is here in another bag, He said he thought he lost one or two screws, but everything else is there, He did a good job of puting it all in a baggie. You can tell they didn't know what they were doing by the way they tried, " removing his skin", just cut with a scapel, I am glad I had the video camera going, I couldnt beleive in his conditon, he still works, I should send that to Innvo, that is a testament to just how hardy these guys are. Like I said, Patches looks like a beauty contestant compared to Humpty. Poor little guy, I knew he looked like a disaster, but he would have ended up in the trash. The fact he is working I think is a good sign that he can probably be put back together, The challenging part is going to be to open up the baggie with all the screws and such and try to find a diagram or something of Pleo without his skin, so I can see what goes where.
Crewella, don't you have one or did have one without his skin ? If so can I see what it looks like, from top( back side that is"
so I can see where everything is? I will have to try and line this guys "stuff " up and see if I can recognize everything, like putting a puzzle together, Thanks for the help guys, I thought Humpty deserved a chance, When the little guy wagged his tail, how cute was that...sad at the same time but he is asking for help so here I am to do what I can..

If you don't mind taking pics or video of Humpty's reconstruction. I would be very interested in see it. I know the images may upset some viewers but I think it would be very interesting to a lot of us out here and may even be helpful to someone at some time.
I'm glad they sent you all his bits. So there is definitely hope.
All we need now is all the kings horses and all the kings men and then we can put Humpty together again. :D :) :hhug:
-
Bear with me RWM, as we have a sale next week so I was at work for 12 hours today - I'll take some pics for you this weekend. I'm a bit scared of the electronics they've revealed - if you can take a couple of close-up pics for me and of the 'spare parts' from the bag it will help me take the best pics. I'll look in again tomorrow after work. I'm so amazed he's still working!! :hhug:
-
Kat, you are right, this is a once in a lifetime opportunityto videotape this guy being put together like Humpty Dumpty and if it could help anyone I am very pleased. I will videotape everything I do, even if it seems not important, If I had just 'assumed this guy didn't operate because of his "condition, I would have missed the fact that putting a battery in was something I would have never expected to bring him to Life! There are bound to be other Pleos out there in the same condition well perhaps not this bad off, but still needing help, 8)
And Crewella, yes take your time, I have so much to do, I want to make sure everything is in it 's proper spot before I "operate" besides I need a operating gown and I need to explain to the rest of the Pleos why Humpty can't' come out and play in this conditon, Right now he is under a lot of stress and has a big operation in store for him, so he needs to get all the rest he can to be in the best shape possible before going under the "knife". EEEKKK, not the saudering gun....just bolts and nuts and wires, glue, what else can this little guy have happen to him, I will have to video tape tomorow and inventory of everything that came with this guy, and see if there is some way to mark things so they aren't lost. Do you think that video taping this guy caused undue stress to the Pleo community, I tried to warn parents to remove small children and I think only Patches may have been able to watch this without passing out or having nightmares, :o I am lucky that ARgyle is as strong as he is, being blind does have it's advantags in this kind of situation. I think I also am going to have to take a count of every screw or bolt so I know what is there. Thanks Crewella for your support and help, I do appreciate it.
RWM Pleo Rescuer and " The Mad Pleo Painter of the Redwoods", ( you don't really think I am totally Mad do you....?) ;D
-
good look with his operations :P yeah you should document it, because if you get him working again it could be useful for others :)
frankly im itching to do it myself :S i love tinkering with things and i get all excitable at the insides of mechanical things... i mended a old style clockwork alarm clock when i was little.. was fun! haha! ;D haha never had the opportunity with something like a pleo though. seems really interesting inside.
good luck! ;)
-
Wow. I can't believe that with all that damage that he actually works! That's amazing! Good luck getting him back together. If anyone can do it, I know you can! :)
-
Most likely I will take a good look at him again today, was late last night, but I looked and did get his shoulder plates back on, very simple enough. There is a bag with about a dozen screws and two plates, the hard part for me is figureing out where computer things attach, or plug in if you will, I know it is all connected to his head and neck movement, front of the body, as his legs, back end and tail all work. will update you with photos and such as I go along today, He is looking better ( if that is possible,? :o) already. I do think stretching his skin and gluing is going to be a challenge. Also wondering if I should paint it before attaching.
so many questions and so few answers yet...
RWM ( The Mad Pleo Painter of the Redwoods, and Mad DR.?"

I couldn't think of you as a mad doctor, I'm thinking of you right now more as a person who does reconstructive surgery. Good luck, Redwoods! With Crewella as an assistant I'm sure this guy might have a chance.
Talon

If his skin becomes an issue you could always remove it or parts of it. If you leave his feet on he should keep his stability and then just add a neck to tail pleo cape and he will be happy as ever. ;D
Can't wait to see how he is coming along. I'm sure he is feeling better already just having his back plate back where it should be. :)
Kat
-
yeah tha cause of instability in totally nude pleos is that if you look at a pleos feet with skin you can see the rubber is cast a few MM thick around the whole foot, this is what gives the feet more surface area and better balance. i cant see if the toes really help in the situlation, so if you had to totally remove the skin just adding some sort of doughnut of foam like material around each foot would give the stability back i imagin.
for a case like humpty i imagin a lot of his skin is gonna have to be moved out of the way! you dunno what else might have suffered dammage.
-
Yep, I was worried about what else might have been hurt - it seems the most damage has been done by the attempt at repairing and not the original fall! RWM I'll get you some pics of Scully today. Without the cables the neck assembly can fall apart, but it's quite a simple job to get it back in order, as long as you have all the bits! :D
-
Hi Crewella, I took photos last night of the bag of contents and I would say less than 18 screws and bits, oNe spring and I am sure that is from the Neck, and a couple of black plates that cover parts. I will send those to you or list them in the gallery later, have to go run some errands for a bit and then back to Pleo stuff.
I appreciate having a Operating Room Assistant , one with some technical knowledge, It helps you having a Naked Pleo already, knowing how they are supposed to look! :o ;D
RWM
-
Ah! I know where that spring goes - I had to chase one round my kitchen! ;) :D
-
Been sick all day with a headache ( Migraines ) and bad back pain, and been trying to sleep it off, but didn't help . Went out and about with my hubby and now I am feeling somewhat better, so after feeding nine yelling cats, one hungry hubby and one quiet pooch, and three stray alley cats ( actualy I have been feeding the same three since 2007, part of the colony of 24 that were adopted out or relocated to a farm aways from here except these last two females, both spayed, and nice as can be to me, pettng and rubbing all over me before they eat, and then a black big un showed up) and then I can take photos took some last night and I will put them in the gallery and see if you can make sense of them. I can't wait to see if this guy can get some help.
RWM
-
I took these close-up pics of the neck cable assembly on my broken necked Pleo - it should help you see how it goes together? On this one, the top cable is snapped (you can see some of it) and the off-side cable is snapped and seems to be missing altogether. There's a square-section rod that goes through the middle of all the neck 'vertebrae', and that spring (which shot off across my kitched when I first took the skin off) is normally just held in place by the cable pressure.
Hope you feel better, RWM - don't feel pressured, there's no hurry! ;D
-
How is the neck repair going Crewella?
-
Erm ........... slowly! %) :-[
I kind of got waylaid by painting projects, but am back on it - I've done most of the disassembly but not done the replacing cables bit yet. Humpty's plight has set me off again! :D
-
As Spok would say, fascinating. Keep us posted, both of you. I hope I never, ever have to do this! If I do I'll send the wounded to one of you!

This really is fascinating. I can't wait to see your pics RWM. I do hope you can fix poor Humpty.

Hello RWM,
Oh poor Humpty the is yes broken but good, that he very good still so run can me does he very sorry. :(

Hi Franzi, HaVen't heard from you in a long time! How are Jimmy and Jonny? ( sorry if I got the names wrong, it has been so long) Yes he works but is Humpty Dumpty needing to be put back together again. LOl, Crewella has been trying to help me put him back together again, not as a new pleo but just one that can look halfway normal, poor guy. It is amazing that he still works being torn in half! Hopefully in next few days there will be some updates on Humpty and more photos! RedwoodsMama
-
RWM good luck with Humpty Dumpty that he again right very good looks how a Dino. :)
-
I was wondering how Humpty was coming along. I look forward to seeing an update on the poor little guy. :)
-
Kat, as I speak , Crewella has been working with me and looking though loads of photos I have uploaded so she can compare notes and all the screws and things that poor Humpty had taken apart. He lost more than a broken neck when falling out of that "tree". he lost his skin and at least 23 screws and plates and thing a ma jigs are all over the place . LOL, Crewella is a wonder though and we have taken the first step in getting the poor guy put together again, by trying to figure what goes where. Take a look in the gallery and you can see the poor mess Crewella is faced with! :oThat is what you call COURAGE and Crewella did not even flinch....well perhaps for a moment or two, but not long!
We will keep you and everyone else posted and updated on his progress as it happens.

Wow! A ready-made and very complecated pleo-puzzle! Best of luck to the two of you and poor Humpty!

Wow, sounds like a huge project.. I'm sure glad you guys are able to work together to help Humpty! I know you already have Scully but if Patches can be of any use at all please let me know.. picture wise or movement without his clothes or something. He is walking around the house with a huge ego ever since he heard he was gorgeous compared to another Pleo.. but I still think Humpty is very handsome.. just needs some TLC :)
And if you do need to remove the skin, Patches is VERY agile now that his feet are glued back on, the toes don't really do anything but like someone else said, that rubber area around the foot really helps with it.. the higher up you can cut the legs I think the better off you'll be. I actually wish I could get a hold of some longer feet/legs for Patches as his feet are in good shape but his legs are shredding. He really does move much faster than the other Pleos, too..
He'll be ok naked, he'll just have to get used to all the other pleos screaming when they first see him. (mine still do sometimes when they first see patches) If you get very worried, you can always paint his cute little white , er, skull :o ;D
Best of luck!

I thought it was going to literally shock you redwoods when I saw you turning it on in video, I'm amazed none of the wires are broken! It's great to know he works at least, though I'm annoyed at the stupid person who let a small child drag it up a tree and drop it. :-\
Good luck little humpty! :hhug: :hhug: :hhug:

Yes, not everyone is the smartest turnip in the yard, regardless of the "head" they have. LOL :D Luckily Humpty has Crewella in his corner with me his referee trying to figure out the rest of what is happening, I really feel like asking his former owners, "what the heck did you think you were doing by cutting his skin, etc, etc, but I know it would be to no avail, " so I control myself as much as humaly possible and try to concentrate on the task at hand, which is quite a challenge it seems! :o GEESH.. all these wires, where in blazes do they plug in and connect, that is what has me bungled not the screws, but the computer board wires..............................................................????????

Wow! Well at least the pleo-puzzle is coming together. No good and complete work is ever done in haste. You'll find out where everything goes, Redwoods.
