Just wanting to clarify something. I recently discovered what I've been looking for a long time: A Pleo (not sure if it's a UGOBE original, or an INNVOlabs version, but it's not an RB), in good condition, shipping from the UK, on Ebay, current bid 99p plus £13 shipping and 8 days to go.
Only problem is, I'm not altogether certain that it comes with the training leaf. It doesn't say that the leaf isn't included, but it doesn't say it IS included either.
1. So, I want to know exactly how necessary the training leaf is? Does the original Pleo become hungry like the RB, or is it a sort of accessory? And how does it react to a lack of food?

Hi, good luck on the bidding if you decide to do so,. As for the training leaf, if I ever have any doubts or questions about an item I allways ask questions and expect and answer otherwise I have learned the hard way you dont' allways get what you think if you don't ask. As for the Ugobe Pleo and traning leaf, it is more of a novelty item than anything, as Pleo will chew on anything your finger etc, that you put in their mouth, as well as playing tug of war with your finger. also if a Pleo is "hungry" it just starts chomping away as if hungery if there is a leaf or something in it's mouth or not, They do not sense what is in their mouth, it is just a response they seem to do, There is no programmed hunger or getting sick if not fed like the new Pleo Rb.
If there is no training leaf with this one, you can subsitute anything in their mouth or make your own felt leaf which is a lot kinder on their teeth to lesson paint chipping, Good luck. :)

RWM's right. The only way a Ugobe Pleo can recognise its leaf is by colour, so you can substitute with something in the same colours. :)

That's true, I rarely use the leaf for my pleo. Also, a RB leaf works fine if you don't have a leaf for your pleos to share. Hope you have luck with getting a new pleo!
