Title: U.Bo
Post by: Junkroxy on February 28, 2011, 01:30:47 AM
Hi, i'll receive one of these cute critters next days. He's a new robotic pet called U.bo, you can interact with him and play with him, clean his mess. It's a cross between furby, i-dog and tamagotchi ;)

Here's a video

Very cute.  Are they very expensive?  It looks like the sort of thing my kids might like. :)

They do look like fun, the LED screen faces are great!  I love the six legs, too, as they make them move and turn so quickly!  :D

I love how you clean the poop %) I'd like a few of them to take to school :) The kids would love them :)

Ok I like the idea... but the website is faintly disturbing :P

When two U.Bos meet, after absorbing the energy of love from the owner, U.Bos will call each other. The two U.Bos with the energy of happiness will sing, dance and kiss happily.

I remember seeing a video of these things awhile back and thought they looked kind of neat. It reminds me of those nano pets that were just the faces and a "large" boxish body.

You can use your hand to touch U.Bo’s bum and upper back, it will show a happy expression and make a happy sound...

Um... LOL!!!

When it poops, it will show the picture of taking off its pants, making the farting sound, and shows the picture of squatting.

Erm... that is just creepy.

These may be "cute" for little kids and for a short party theme or if you have had a bit much too much party or if you are just plain bored...........but I think as IMR said, they are just a bit too creepy, I agree, the taking down pants, I dont think I would want a kid of myne doing that ... :o too anal if you ask me. LOL :D

as for "pets", I will stick to the cuteness factor which is Pleo for Me. Even Aibo has this thing beat, but that is just one person's opinion, so I am not saying it is bad, just not my cup of "tea" or in my case, coffee, but I can see where some people may want one, I have no clue what the cost would be for one of these"toys" or gadgets.

Now I think I have seen everything.                            RWM

Wwwwell, I don't know what to think of this thing. Like Redwoods said, it seems more of a really advanced kid-toy like the Neo-pets. I'm not too sure about the taking-off-the-pants thing either but if someone can enjoy them more power to them. I like the variety in their fear response. It's not one standard "aaah!". If I'm paying for a robot, I want it to challenge and intertain me and also to adapt- at least to some degree- to its environment.
