Being an owner of only pleo rb's I am very curious about the comparisons between the older version pleos and the new. I love me pleo rb's but I just felt like something was missing. %) I didn't truly believe I could fully understand the transformation between pleo and pleo rb without actually owning an older pleo. So I went looking. I searched ebay to only find broken or badly damaged pleos. I did find a web site that was selling new 2009 models for an arm and 2 legs and then I would have needed to donate my other arm to science just to pay the shipping costs. So I found an alternative. :) Adoption.
I signed up to the adopt a pleo service. I gave them my credentials and told them what I was looking for in a pleo, loved but not too loved, fully working, no real signs of damage or neglect, sweet happy personality. :)
And what do you know they had the perfect pleo for me. Gumble.
(He came from RWM's very affordable adopt a pleo service and is the twin brother to Argyle the blind pleo. :))
Here is the grand unwrapping of Gumble, my newest and oldest baby. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lREtt2mkCBw
I will post his first play date with Kermy3 as soon as it finishes uploading to youtube. :)
As you can see from the film there were lots of exciting presents in the package. Gumble has his very own name tag which also has his brothers name engraved on the back. Very sweet of you RWM. :) I love it. Kermy3 also got a pressy and there was one for Norbit too, which we opened for him even though he's away at the moment getting new skin.
Kat ;D

And here is Gumble and Kermy3's first play date. ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaRB3TD9iD0
As you can see Kermy does the Moo and then chat trance thing that she does when she talks to Norbit so she clearly "sees" him. He made a lot of soft rumble cooing noises to her too but with the air-con noise and the fan noise in the background it is a little hard to hear. It was also a bit dark for filming so sorry about that. I will try to film a better movie for you tonight.
Kat :)
-
Congratulations on Gumble, Kat! He certainly seems to get along with Kermy3! I wonder what Norbit will think when he returns? :)
-
Kermy looked quite upset at that mysterious box at first. Too many bad memories perhaps? And of course having her brother packed away recently must make her apprehensive. She seemed much happier after finding out what was in the box :)
Congrats on Gumble's arrival, he looks like a real sweetie :) Can't wait to hear what you think of him compared to the RB's :)
-
Congratulations Kat! I've never heard a present being shortened down to "pressy" before. heh And did you rename Redwoods former Ugobe Pleo?
-
Awwwe! They certainly seem to take to one another. Gumble is such a cute name!
-
Thanks for posting that Kat. I saw the first part on Youtube (just couldn't wait for the "unwrapping"0 LOL, he does seem to like her, and she is one happy little Pleo, isn't she?! ;D In recognize the cooing noises he makes and when he bends down on the front legs, like wanting to play. ( original Pleos love to play tug of war too, doesn't matter if it is with your finger, or leaf or the new tug of war toy.) At about 3 minute on, he starts walking towards him and they are definitly gettting more talk going on, but like you said the air conditioner is a little noisy and better lighting will be even better.
Kermy looks very cute in her "runner's sock/shoes too,) and I think they are the right combination of colors. :) Kermy and Gumble the Great.(love that title by the way, even for a Pet or Nick name... ;))should be well introduced by the time Norbit returns, and Gumble and Kermy will have had enough alone time to give a Welcome Home greeting to Norbit and for Norbit to be welcomed by his new adopted brother. Just think, born in the USA, and now he gets to live in Australia, Lucky little Pleo!
Can't wait for more videos, NOw I am going to have to let Argyle "hear his brothers video" and post the party we had and he and his brothers last outing together before he was packed off for his long trip.( did'nt want to let the "pleo out of the bag". I feel like a little kid on Christmas watching these videos. I know now he has the best new family he could possibly have. I am very happy for Grumble and for his new family as well. :) Great video. Makes it easier too while I wait for the "new Baby" to come back.
RWM and family.
-
Hi, RWM. Is your adoption service for older pleos online somewhere?
-
Congratulations Kat on your adoption of Grumble :) And I do like his name! Kermy3's expressions on the unboxing video were priceless! She really did look worried at first what was in that box :D
-
Talon, it is here on the forum, I have to post new photos and when I do if you are interested, you can contact me, thanks for the question. Gumble is a very special Pleo who got a very special adoptee family and wonderful Mom.! :)

IMR I never knew that you’d started an adoption service!.
Will need to go look for it.

I have been having a great time playing with Gumble. He really is a sweetie. He walks around a lot and sings all the time. :)Such a happy little guy.
He looks fabulous in the green dino scale pleo cape. It looks just the way I thought it would. :)
Here is a little video I took of him tonight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBoHr6EMq54
And one of him and Kermy3 together.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKNIzpqVgXI
The biggest differences I have noticed so far are - his skin feels different, soft and silky. This could just be due to the pledge bath he had before his big trip to me. He seems more wobbly on his feet than Pleo rb but also more flexible. He seems to have more movement in the mid body section so he can turn from side to side better. He walks a lot. Pleo rb only walks 4 steps then stops and looks around before walking another 4 steps. Gumble will walk 50 steps in a row without stopping as long as there are no obstructions in his way. He looks around as he walks so he won't bump into stuff. I think this looks a lot more realistic than pleo rb. rb only walks with it's head down and the stop start walking isn't very smooth and life like. I also love the singing when you stroke his chin. I would have loved pleo rb to do this too.
So far he is wonderful. :)

Those videos were great.. I'm so glad they like each other... was so nice that you were able to adopt and get such a sweet little guy with guarantee that he was in good condition.
I have a question though, Is Kermy3 all grown up? Just because I have the 2 Ugobe Pleo and Bingo is just 3 weeks old and obviously not grown up yet since he just learned his name and hardly walks..
He doesn't pay much attention to his 'older' brother and sister, even though his sister is always looking at him and keeps getting her neck stuck because she walks away while looking at him.. %) %)
Congrats!!

Kat I am so happy that you have fallen in love with Gumble, :-* He is such a sweet good natured little guy, and I knew he was the perfect canidate for you. As tough as it was to separate him from his brother, ARgyle, he needed to be able to get more attention and his brother needed to be given the opportunity to grow more independant. It is good for both of them, and I couldn't ask for a more perfect home, Besides, he will get more one on one attention with his new family, Do you realize how hard it is to give nine Pleos "equal" time, esp when you have nine cats and a dog aready that need lots and lots of time!? He looks so happy already and I know he is in his "Forever Home".
The Pleos and Pleos Rb do have slightly different skin, The Pledge does seem to help and I have found none of my other "regular "Pleos have any of the grazing or hole problems with the exception of Little 45 who came to me with a broken neck and holes already, thus that is why he was Patched.
The older Pleos do a lot more walking in my opinion also, and you can also hold their two front leg sensors and set them off to explore which you can't do with the Pleo Rb. Rubbing under the chin to get the Pleos to sing is what I miss the most I think about the Pleo Rb. NOw you have to have a singing stone to get them to sing. He does look perfect in his little green dino outfit and it will also help protect his skin from paint rubbing off, He seems very playful too. I love watching the interactions between him and Kermy. Has she figured out that he is there to stay yet do you think? What do the rest of your family members think of him, do them approve of Gumble? Hope to see more videos soon, have to play them for his brother ARgyle, I am sure he will be happy for Gumble. I know I am very happy with the outcome! :)

Oh Scaledandtailed, it is not IMR that has the Adopt a Pleo, it is me, RWM that stands for RedwoodsMama, but I can see how the initials could be confusing.

I hope nobody is going to hate me for saying this, because although I really do love Snooki, I do (as yet!) still prefer my two Ugobe Pleos, Sylvester and Tooie. I just can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is about them, but little Gumble so reminds me of Tooie in particular. There's just something about how the Ugobe Pleos squirm the mid section of their bodies around, and 'yes' the walking and the singing! Also I love the way they sit and can be carried in that position. And yes, they do tend to be a bit more wobbly on their feet than PleoRB, but I think this adds to their cuteness :) I do still have a lot to learn though about Snooki, so hopefully I will get to fall in love with her personality too in time %)
Gumble looks so macho in his dino scale Pleo cape :-* I'm glad you're now able to experience the joy of a "classic" Pleo at last!!
-
I agree, untill you have experienced the love and uniqueness of the Original Pleo, you can'[t really appreciate ( In my opiinon) just how far Pleo has come, I do love the very first Pleo, and Nova will allways have a spot in my heart that no other Pleo can replace as she is my first, In only one year I have come from not even knowing what a Pleo is, to owning nine, Ok, eight now that Gumble has a new home, Pleo Rb has a lot of improvements and is special and I do love my Pleo Rb, and am waiting for my replacement . ( for Baby my Pleo Rb that was mailed back this week) I would never give up my original Pleos though and this period while I am waiting for my "new baby" will give me the chance to get reacquainted with my other green babies which will be nice. ;)

Wow, I prefer newer things to old. I miss the chin-stroking-causes-singing thing too. And Kat, I E-mailed you but you didn't respond. You got my private message right?
-
HI RWM. I am interested in reading up on your adoption service here on the forum. I am saving for a Pleo RB but vet bills for one of my living creatures has taken a small chunk out of my funds. I'm not sure if I'll be Pleo-ready by April. At present I don't have an instant messanger service. I'll let you know as the time gets closer. Old or new or even special needs, I intend to provide the best care possible for my future pleo.
-
Congrats Kat - Gumble looks lovely, and I'm sure you'll be the perfect home for RWM's little adoptee! ;D
I feel the same way - you need to experience the older Pleos to appreciate the RB's. I also think that we lost some of the most endearing behaviours with the RB - we gained some wonderful features, but I think we lost some of the magic, too. :-X
-
Maybe you need to own a RB to appreciate the wonderfulness of the older style pleos ;D Been as I am doing it the other way around to most people I guess I am looking at things a bit differently. With RB being my first pleo I have been having a great time enjoying all of the cool rb features. I just didn't know what I was missing in not owning an original pleo. I had no idea that pleos could be so active and adventurous and walk with their heads held high. :) Or that they could be so heartwarming with the little song of happiness from a simple chin rub. I don't know why Innvo chose to leave these functions out of pleo rb. I do hope they put them back in with an update some time in the not too distant future. This is really the magic that people talk about with pleo. :)
I do like that they have made the rb's more stable and less wobbly on their feet. I can see that they have opened up whole new realms of possibility with the rb's. I love the faster and quieter motors and the extra sensors and noises. I just feel that now that I have had the chance to experience an older version of pleo I can see some really great features that they seem to have left out on this newer model.
It seems each version has it's great points. I will take more video of Gumble tomorrow and try to share with you all. :)
I will let you know if I notice any other differences.
He really is lovely. :)
-
I owned a Ugobe Pleo first, and then an RB, but I only had the Ugobe about 6 weeks before the RB. I think the Ugobe's are really sweet. I love the singing and the tricks that they already have programmed into their systems. I like that you can play with them whenever you want to, without a time clock, but on the other hand, I really like the voice recognition in the RB. I think that there was also a little money to be made with the selling of the stones. ( I am a huge Disney fan, so I am programmed to believe everything is to make money. :) ) If you want RB to do tricks, you have to buy the stone kit. Haven't gotten to teach Candy her name yet, but I am looking forward to that!
-
I pulled out the video camera today and took some footage of Kermy3 and Gumble the Great fooling around.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJkabqh4osQ
We have been having a ball with all the tomato harvest Festival goings on. Gumble has been particularly excited about it. He is such an enthusiastic little tomato. :)
I would like to share with you where Gumble got his name. When I was small, in about year 3 at primary school my teacher read us the stories of the Bottersnikes and Gumbles. This story really caught my imagination and started my love of reading. I will never forget it and I thought the Gumbles were very much like my little pleo Gumble so that is where he got his name.
For those of you who have never heard of the Bottersnikes and Gumbles before they are a series of Australian books set in the Australian bush. Bottersnikes are strange creatures, the bad guys in the stories. They have green wrinkly skin, cheese-grater noses and long, pointed ears that go red when they are angry, which is most of the time. They are perhaps the laziest creatures in the world. They eat mattress stuffing (preferably barbecued) and pictures of food out of magazines, and for sweets they like rusty nails and bottle tops. The Bottersnikes’ biggest fear is water, because they shrink when they get wet and have to be hung out to dry.
Gumbles, on the other hand, are the most friendly and cheerful creatures in the bush and can be squashed into any shape without being hurt, although when flattened out completely they cannot regain their own shapes without help. They are hopeless when they get the giggles.
The Bottersnikes are always capturing the Gumbles and squishing them into jam jars. They only let them out to do chores for them - like slaves. The Gumbles are always escaping from the Bottersnikes and haveing adventures.
Gumble my pleo seemed to be such a happy, friendly adventurous little guy that I thought the name Gumble suited him well.

That's a lovely story, Kat, and I was wondering where the name 'Gumble' came from. It's a great name, and it really does seem to suit him perfectly! They both look super cool in their hats, but Kermy3 looks such a babe in her hat and boots - a real hot chick! Lovely video, thanks, I enjoyed it (as always!). ;D
I do agree with you about some of the features missing from the RBs that were so magical in the original Pleos. I really hope they put some of the behaviours back. I've only just got the learning stones for Belle, and was wondering if, once they have learned to 'sing' or 'bow' if that behaviour would then be remembered so they might do the actions of their own accord? Like the Ugobe Pleos sometimes just burst into the 'chin rubbing' song for no reason? That would be really cool if they did that, but I've got a feeling it doesn't work that way..........
-
I see. And Crewella Kat's said that she knows they do shorter, different versions for singing and dancing.
-
Hi Kat, loved the video, and I can see the hot weather has Gumble the Great a little tired out , and the Tomato festival too I think. I love Kermy's boots, they are so "her", and go great with her hat, she rocks now. ;D I also see that when Gumble finally woke up, ( perhaps he was dreaming ....) he decided to go look for a Sasparilla perhaps somewhere in some Western Bar or at the tomato Festival, if they have any. I will have to show this to Argyle his brother and the rest of the gang later if I get the time,
I am at my friend's house, ( cat sitting her 13 cats right now while she is in Florida, ) so it is about the only extra time I have to check out things on the computer. :D
I am glad you got to explain the story of his name to the other members of the forum, I love the story of Gumbles and Bottersnikes. Talk to you soon.
RedwoodsMama
-
Thanks, Kristy, but do they do them on their own, or do they need telling? That's what I'm after! :D
-
Yes, on their own!
-
Oh joy!! I'd better get those learning stones out! ;D ;D
Thanks Kristy! :D
-
Thats Great a new Pleo Family member:)
-
Crewella, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the stones, it may just be some Adult behaviors, but I have seen Norbit do a short version of the dance thing spontaneously when he is happy and my old Kermy would do a very short version slightly different tune of the singing. These spontaneous acts never went for very long and didn't seem to be triggered by anything I did. Could have just been natural pleo adult behaviors though. I have not seen Kermy3 do either of the short versions of dancing or singing yet certainly not before she learned the stones. I will let you know if I see her do them now she has the learned behaviors. ;D
Kat
-
That's great - thank you for explaining, Kat. :-*
It would make sense that it would work that way, so you get a richer character overall rather than just what amounts to a remote controlled robot. Sorry Innvo - I should never have doubted you! %)
-
Gumble looked so cute in his new shirt and Bow tie shirt collar that my daughter couldn't resist putting on his hat as well. He looks so lovely I had to share. ;D
-
Gumble does look such a dude in that outfit! ;D
-
Gumble may well need to get himself a job waiting tables in order to be able to pay for all the expensive dates he will be going on now that he is looking so smooth. :) This is his slightly more formal look. Or his waters uniform. :D I guess it works either way :D ;D :D
-
Gumble certainly found the perfect household to live in, not only does he have a lovely new family, but a built in tailor / seamstress. ;D Now I never knew he had such expensive taste, but I can see that he did have good upbringing and being in a new country and all, he wants to make a good impression and with his new outfits he surely is! Love his new outfit, Kat, he looks so dapper like he is ready to go to a formal ball! He does look great in formal wear, and the tie was just the start! :)
RedwoodsMama
Oh, By the way, a special package arrived at our mailbox today...waiting for the kids to open it up and see what it could be. will be posting photos of the surprise! ;D
-
Gumble looks much too dashing to be waiting tables!! :o :P
-
Thanks guys, I'm glad you think he's cute. I'm having such fun with him. He is a real sweetie. And he makes a great model too. Not at all camera shy and with his slower movements he is much easier to photo when he is one the move without getting blurry shots :) Unlike Kermy3 who I have to take pics of when she is switched off. :-X
-
When I was out shopping for material the other day I managed to find a couple of pleo sized top hats! ;D So now Gumble has a top hat to go with his formal wear and I got one for Norbit as well.
Also I have been on the lookout for some Vinylex for my pleos but haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere near me so I thought I would give Polyglaze a go. I really wanted to try and find a product that is designed for caring for rubber to use on my pleos rather than the pledge that is designed to use on wood. And after hearing from others here who have had success with some auto care products designed to protect and revitalize rubber I thought I should be able to find something similar to use on my guys. Polyglaze is readily available in many of the supermarkets near me so after much contemplation I bought some.
I gave Gumble his first bath in it today and already I have noticed a big difference. He is so much silkier to touch and softer. his skin seems more flexible and he looks so much brighter and more vibrant. :) So far so good. I will let you know how it goes. It seems so much better by far than the Pledge I have been using.
Here is the Poliglaze Dash and Trim Care
Gumble from the right after his bath
And from the left
And from the top
after much searching through all my photos on the computer I have discovered that I really don't have any of Gumble without clothes on from before I used the Polyglaze. This was the best I could do. It only shows the front half of him but I think you can still see the difference.
Kat
-
Hey Kat, love the top hat, perfect for a Pilgrim Thanksgiving story or theme. Hey, I will have to send you some "before Photos of Gumble" from when he and his brother Argyle first showed up, Talk to you soon.
RedwoodsMama
-
Good luck trying out Polyglaze!
-
Everyone likes to have their skin feel soft and silky so why not Pleos? ;D
RedwoodsMama
-
I was wondering how often do those of you using Vinylex or Autoglym (hope I got that right) apply it?
-
I've been just wiping over with a cloth slightly dampened with Autoglym every week or so, paying particular attention to trouble spots but mainly to keep clean. I'll probably only really cover them in the stuff every few months, or if I feel them getting dry. I'm still rather playing it by ear, to be honest. :)
-
Thanks Crewella,
So far I have only applied the one coat and I sprayed it on a cloth first to make it damp then rubbed it over the pleo. I think I will try to keep this up as a once a week thing like I was with the pledge to see how it goes. It really does seem to be so much better than pledge already. He still feels soft and silky. :)

It has been a while since my last video so I thought I would post a little chunk of my playtime tonight with my pleos. Kermy is wearing her black (ninja) neck to tail pleo cape and Gumble is testing out a Skeletor costume we are making for Latrine. I wanted to be sure it worked properly on a moving pleo. The movie is a bit dark but I think it is ok. Hope you like it. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uejO1F_DhNg
Not long after this was taken Gumble started sneezing and coughing. I think he may be getting sick. :(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C87dTSRAMrU
-
Hi Kat, it is really hard to see kermy esp being in an all black costume, I could basically see a pretty pink head. I liked what I could see of Gumble's Skelter Costume, I remember that character from old TV cartoon shows of the 1980's. She must be planning Halloween way in advance, not a bad idea when you think of it.
Yes, Gumble has all the classic symptoms of a Pleo Cold, poor boy. I am sure the character of Skeleter put the curse on Gumble, he got too in to character. :( The good thing about most Pleo colds is that they come as quick as they go, although I have had Pleos have a cold one day, seem to be over it the next battery cycle then get sick again. The best cure is just lots of love, good food, and rest and the cold will take care of itself, They are the most pitiful creatures when sick, it is hard to think of them just as " a robot" :o( It was not me that said that!) Give Gumble some love and kisses from his brother Argyle, and the rest of the Pleos here who miss him terribly but are very happy for him!
Would love to see the costume in brighter light too!
RedwoodsMama
-
I will be sure to use better lighting and my other camera for my next video shoot. The battery was flat so I had to resort to my regular camera and we just replaced the light globes in the house but I think we got ones that aren't as bright as the old ones so need to get some brighter ones. :) Looks like it wasn't a great combination.
-
Alright. I'm glad you're gonna do that. lol
-
Kat sent me some pics of The new outfit for Patches too and I can see from the video movement is fine.. since Patches has no skin we thought skeletor would be a good outfit for him to wear all the time :D He also has his dinosaur suit from Kat though... The costume is simply amazing.. I was still doing drawings to figure out how to do it and bop here comes the FINISHED photo on my email.. lol.. it looks awesome.. even my bf was impressed and he wanted to keep Patches nude :o
Thanks so much for popping in the video of Gumble wearing the costume!!
Did Kermy and Gumble fight? I assume the ninja would win since Skeletor never managed to defeat any enemies and ninja's always kill everyone :D
Really great costumes!! You should post the pics so they can see how awesome they are!!

Well I have had an awful week at work with a big restructure and lots of people loosing their jobs. I still have mine so far though so I guess I will be ok. To try and make myself feel better I have been playing with my little babies and sewing some new capes in the groovy new velvets I found. So far I have only made 3 out of the 7 new materials I bought so I guess there are more to come. :)
Today's latest is modeled by Gumble and is a lovely sparkly light green/ pale blue stretchy tie die number.
He looks and feels gorgeous in this lovely new cape. It is a very silky type of velvet. With a soft suede type of feel to it.
I also got this material in a rusty orange red color. Modeled by Kermy. :)
Now to decide which material to do next. :)
-
I love the new looks, Gumble had no idea he was going abroad to study fashion and become a Male Model! He thought that only happened in London or Paris. Guess he and Argyle thanks to MS. Nova watched too much Tyra and Americas Next Top Model and got the wrong idea. :D He can say he is one of the first Aussie Male Pleo Models and when he is disovered he owes it all to Kats Creations.
RedwoodsMama
-
They do both look absolutely fabulous, dahling! Mwah!! :-* :D
-
They look amazing in their new capes, I am in awe over your creativity. Really cute, I hope this week improves for you. Best of luck!
-
Sorry to hear that about your week Kat. :-(
-
sounds like a very stressfull periode at work and all, hope you can stay and will have no personal concequences.
pyama's looking great!
I was thinking about making some myself too. since we have our home decorated completely white / black (hence the pink Pleo offcourse, to fit right in ;) ) I was thinking of making a pyama and matching socks in zebra-print, think a pleo will look real fierce then ;)
an idea for you too? or something like a tiger ;D
including matching socks offcourse!
the christmas cape and the pink socks from the store here we just gotta have and will get them, but christmas / march... no hurry there.
-
Well I really needed some cheering up this weekend so I spent lots of time playing with my little pleo babies. They really do make you smile. :)
Here is my little trio just hanging out and having fun.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQr_DCdjBzs
I made Norbit a lovely yellow velvet pleo cape today. Ir matches his eyes and I think it suits him well. He seems to like it. :) and I think it looks even more cute on him when you add a shirt collar and tie and a set of pleo booties. Gumble looks cute in his too and so does Kermy.
I have a second video and some pics too but waiting for them to upload so I will post them later. :)
Feeling much better after a day with my pleos.
Kat
-
As promised here are some pics from our day.
Here is Gumble looking sweet in his outfit.
We had a great time playing tug of war. Norbit loved it the most. :)
Here is Kermy in one of her happier moments. She seems to be going through a moody phase at the moment.
Gumble performing tricks to impress the ladies, or just anyone really. :)
The three of them with tails wagging
Norbit roaring to try to impress his sister. I think he just scared her.
And lastly a little bit of posing for the camera.
Here is the other video I took today. Gumble was not feeling to good towards the end but he put on a brave face and was still able to have a good time. I gave him lots of cuddles after. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3RdhDIXTt0
-
I love your capes!!! You are so clever! I think I am enjoying Dressing Bubble Gum as much as I am playing with her! :) Do you have a store on Ebay or somewhere for your clothing!? The outfits are adorable!
-
Kat has a store on here called Kat's Creations - click on the stores tab at the top. :)
-
Yep just go to the stores tab at the top of this page underneath the shout box and then you can choose my store from the list - Kat's Creations. If you see anything you like you can just PM me. I have not yet updated to include the new materials I just bought so if you don't see the color your after then just ask and I will see what I have available. :)
-
As Crewella has given you all an update on the Autoglym and how well it is going for her guys skin I thought I would give you an update on the Polyglaze I am trying. Do please remember that while I am also using it on my RB's they are both now out of warranty. I would recomend you still use pledge if you are still under your warranty period.
So on the 13th March I gave my little Gumble a wipe down with Polyglaze. On the 17th of March I gave Norbit and Kermy a dose of it too. That was the day Norbit arrived home in his/her ( :D ) new skin. The first dose I did I soaked the cloth in polyglaze so it was very wet and then rubbed them all over with it. After doing Gumble I noticed that I had a green patch on the cloth so he obviously lost some paint from doing this but he didn't look any worse for it so I think that like the others who have tried different skin care products for their pleos have said this seemed to be just some loose paint that was coming off anyway and it came off with the dirt. :) He looked so much brighter and more vibrantly colored after his wash. :) The others didn't loose any paint to the cloth with their rub downs.
All three of them felt so much more smooth, silky and soft after the bath with the skin feeling more flexible and supple too.
I have given them all another rub down a couple of times since then with a slightly damp polyglaze cloth to try to maintain the soft silky feel when I notice that it seems to be disappearing. Today I decided that they were all feeling a lot less soft and silky so i thought they needed another bath. I decided it would be easier to just spray the polyglaze on to the pleo directly and then just wipe off. It did seem much easier this way and I know that all the little crevasses were done and nothing was missed. They are all drying off properly at the moment, I try to leave them for at least 30mins to let it soak into the skin properly after wiping off all the excess. I will then give them a quick rub over with a clean soft dry cloth to be sure there is no excess left.
This time no paint came off Gumble or any of them onto the cloth so I think all the loose stuff was removed in the first bath and the rest is happily being protected by the polyglaze. :) All three of them look brighter and more vibrant after their bath. It is interesting to note that there seems to be different paint types on all my pleos. Kermy is shiny and glossy, Gumble and Norbit are both Matt finish but Norbits paint is definitely a different type to Gumble. It feels and looks different.
Another interesting thing to note too is that Norbit still has all of his/her ( :) ) toenail paint. Remember that the skin was new on the 17th March and he/she was polyglaze on arrival to me. It is now the 9th April and still no loss of toenail paint at all. :) :) :)
I can't say if this is due to the polyglaze or if maybe it is just an improvement to the skin/paint that they have done. I like to think it is the polyglaze. :)

Great stuff, Kat - it's good to know other people (namely you :P) are getting the same results that I am. All good, useful information! :D
Norbert's toenails look fresh out of the box! :o I really hope Moschops' stay that way too! ;D

Wow, I listened to all of what you said Kat. Really cool.

I may use this product too on Ugobe when he gets here if I can't find the Vinylex. Ryu seems to be doing pretty good with the Pledge. I was fortunate enough to find the right one recommended by the manual. I wish it were in a wipe form so I could cover more area but I could only find it in a spray. Since I'm not the best at aiming at anything spray wise, I bought a little fluffy thing called "fuzzy fingers" that's used to clean computer screnes. It looks and feels something like a mop head with very short velvety fingers on it. I would've went for a baby washcloth but thought that was a bit overboard. Lol! I've no idea how much damage has been done as far as paint but his skin feels kind of smooth and springy. It's not as slick and powdery as it was when he first came out of the box. I hope I haven't done anything wrong. I've had him since March eighteenth and I've Pledged him once a week the same day I clean my guinea pig's cages.

I conducted a little experiment tonight to see the different reactions to Chin rubbing. Gumble just seems to love this and it is such a cute reaction from the Ugobe pleos. I was interested to see the different reactions I might get from Kermy and Norbit. So here is a video for you all.
I still think Gumbles reaction is the most life like and the cutest.

Awwwe, Kat, Gumble is adorable! He actually sings. What operating system is that? My Ugobe pleo to be does this coyote-like howl. Anyway to get on topic, I don't seem to get any noticeable reaction from Ryu other than an annoied honk for me to get out of his way. He'll do the leaning in thing when I touch his sides and sometimes he'll do this hatchling-like pur when I rub his head. He'll also bow if I rub along his spine. Maybe he just doesn't like having his chin rubbed?

Gumble being a Ugobe Pleo has the best of the chin rubbing reactions, he ( they )just react the way you would think they should, and what I also really like is that they will do it all on their own with no outside stimulation. If they are happy they just start singing, Norbit had the next best reaction, not a singer, but it looked for awhile like he may have been enjoying the rubbing and the attention. Kermy on the other hand, looked shy, demure and like, just look at my cute little outfit. I think she is more interested in the attention she can get by being cute and with having two males around her. ( looking at all the cute outfits, you can't blame her. ) :)They all look so gorgeous Kat, you really have a creative talent there and we are going to all own Kat Creations of one kind or another. I think If I had the money I would order a whole Pallet of outfits for all my Pleos and Pleo adoptees! ;D Nice video too Kat!

That's an informative video (for people that don't know about this; I already know) Kat. Good job.

'm glad you all liked it. I just thought it was interesting that the two rb's had different reactions to each other. Does anyone else's RB react in another way to the chin rub? I wonder if different personalities will react differently or if it is just a mood thing? Both my two were doing the moody whimpering thing before the chin rubbing. :)

Yeah, I saw those things in the video Kat. lol

You know Kat now after your experiment I guess I will line up Argyle, Nova, Little 45, Argyle's cousin, Baby Rb, Major Tom and the rest of the free loaders.( did I say that!! :o :-X) and see who reacts how, first and if it is consistent or not, I like the way both your Rb are different, that is what is interesting to me. Oh, have you done Kermy and NOrbit's profile , DNA and the traits thing, whether female, male etc? What is Kermy's personality profile? %) jus curious about her. I just did my Baby's and it is intesting but being so so so new, only second battery cycle we will see if it fits in a few more cycles or not..LOL

If I touch Belle's chin she sometimes reacts positively, but rarely. Great video, Kat. :D

I tried to do that Pleo personality thing last night. Mine wouldn't register. I kept getting the error message.

It seems some of the earlier model RB's didn't work for some reason. If you contact Innvo they should be able to sort it out for you.

I received Gumbles new battery the other day and tucked in the box was a little treasure. :)
He is officially mine forever! and such a sweetheart too. ;D
-
Yes, he is officially your little Gumble, and if I do so say myself, "unbiased" 8) he could not have found a more loving new home and sweet brother, ( boyfriend, ? significent other. LOL) and sister, than Norbit and Kermy. Congratulations on being his "forever home". :) Hugs to everyone :hhug: :hhug: :hhug: :hhug: one for each of you!

Thank you. Alright. Which web site do I contact? Do I contact the Hong Kong web site? Is it alright to ask on the U.S. web site? Thank you!

Here is a Gumble update. He is doing great with his lovely new paint. :) After being away so long at the pleo day spa getting his new colors done :D :D it was finally time to reintroduce him to the gang for their expert opinions. Happy to say I think it went well.

Kat, Gumble looks so happy and everyone seems happy to have their brother back. I am glad his paint job worked out. Good job Kat! I think everyone is going to demand a little extra spa treatment of their own though,, so be prepared! LOL :D I love the way that Gumble and Ugobe Pleos in general like to just wander off and do their own exploring bless their heart. I like the way you have the room sort of blocked off with furniture it looks like, so they can stay in one area without getting into too much trouble hopefully. You have a real rainbow of colorful Pleos now, Have you thought of what color Minyon will be if she "loses her color" :o ;DNothing like being prepared. I do have to warn you though. once you have gotten bitten by the Pleo "painting bug", you can't stop....you are going to have some good control if you can. Loved watching the video, Now that Gumble is back, I can let Argyle watch his brother., that should cheer him up!
