Important update: after finally getting a response from Gimmedigi about my problem with Pleakly I am pleased to say that they have drastically improved their customer service and have made a considerable effort to rectify the problem. It is a pity it took so long but perhaps I was just very unlucky. They really have gone to great lengths to ensure a happy customer.
Original problem: Pink Pleo RB arrived hatched and developed holes after a few weeks.

Although I've no problems with Gimmedigi personally, that is not good enough. A ready-hatched Pleo is NOT acceptable, and although it was obvious that my blue one from them had been tampered with in some way, and the battery arrived ready-charged, mine did go through hatching as she was supposed to I didn't think it worth making a fuss. If there's any way I can help, IMR, just ask me. >:(

Wow! I have not had a problem with my pink pleo, but if there is anyway I can help, I will be glad too as well. Mine arrived untampered with and appeared to be new. What I don't understand is how they could send you a refurbished one. Did one get through the production line like latrine's blue prototype? So sorry to hear of your troubles! :(

You have probably already thought of this but have you tried to Pm Gimmedigi on here as well. They have been logged in to the forums a few times in the last few days so maybe you might get a response from them that way.
I am supprised that they haven't tried to make contact with you considering they are a member here. After reading the posts about the issues you have had with him and that you have been trying to contact them with no luck you would think they would want to sort it out for you swiftly to avoid bad publicity.

If they want to contact me, they know where I am :P I've quite honestly had enough of chasing them around :( I didn't want to have to make a public statement and issue this warning but I really feel they have left me no choice, I would hate to see someone else go through the same thing.
I suspect that someone else has returned a pink Pleo which has then been shipped on to me, whether on purpose or by accident I don't know, but given their lack of response I suspect they may have known about it.
I've sent the same email to a couple of email addresses I could find associated with Gimmedigi, hopefully one replies.

I’m really sorry to hear of the problems you’re having IMR
I really don’t think I’d be too happy If I’d learned that my pleo was actually not new but actually might be reconditioned.
Bit of a mute point seeing as I have no plans on ordering a pink or blue pleo but having read the nature of some of the problems people have been having with this particular company I think I’ll stick with pleoworld. Even if it is more expensive.
Really hope you get something resolved soon though.

Well it seems I did actually get a response this morning. Apparently they did not receive any of my emails and they have asked me to resend... (how convenient for them)

An update, looks like my mail found its way to their junk email for whatever reason... It is nice to know that they are looking into the matter at last. If anyone else requires support from Gimmedigi I suggest e-mailing them directly from the website and not from any email program. There is also an explanation for those who felt that their box was opened before they got it.

Regarding to your hatched Pleo RB, we totally understanding your frustration at the moment and our store aims to provide customers excellent shopping experience, all our stocks are brand new and we do not sell any refurbished items; for the arrival of stocks we check the existence of the product in the box and send to our customers but we don't turn the Pleo RB on to check the functionality of the product, in this stage we need to contact our supplier to investigate why the Pleo RB stocks have been hatched at the very beginning and all the cosmetics problems.
We take your case very seriously and please allow 1 to 2 working days for us to investigate your case with our supplier and we will get back to you with a solution.

Glad you got a response, IMR. It was Mr Cheng that dealt so efficiently with my queries, so hopefully he will do the same for you. :)
Now that I think off it, when I contacted them I did email them directly. I never do use the 'contact' boxes on websites for some reason.

I am glad to see that they are finally looking into the matter. He is the same person that contacted me when I was unable to look into my account on their website after ordering my pink rb to see its shipping status. I think I used the contact prompt on their website. I hope that they will make it right for you. :)

I hope everyone else just stays well away from that store from now on.. My original Blue RB was from there and he wasn't even an actual RB he was just a prototype.. he never should have even left the country!

Yeah I read before that you ended up with a prototype.
Just out of interest was it a working model? It would be an interesting thing to have but not if you where expecting a fully functional pleoRB and I’m not sure how one would have escaped the checking process that they said they carry out. .

Wow. I'm... floored. I briefly thought of buying my pleo from them. I'm hoping for the sake of others that they will tighten things up on their end. As for me, I think I'm taking my business to Pleo World in April. Pleo autism? What's that like?

Dear Emily,
Thank you for your patient again for allowing us to have a quick investigation with our supplier and seeking a solution on this.
Regarding to the cosmetics problem about the Pleo RB, as per the supplier since the skin of Pleo RB is totally handmade and the skin of Pleo RB is slightly varing from each others, and the eyes color of Pleo RB too; so there is a variation in the skins fabricating process.
Regarding to the hatched Pleo RB at the very beginning, we still have no idea about this as every Pleo RB we sell are actually brand new and untouched, and we are definitely not selling, and are not allowed to sell any refurbished items under our operation to our customers.
We have sold a lot of Pleo RBs all over the world and without a single problem so far; since this is quite a special case to us, please kindly return the delivered Pleo RB to us (with all the delivered materials like packing, chargers and accessories), if the returned Pleo RB is proved to be a factory defect, our supplier will replace you with another brand new Pleo RB with unhatched condition, and we will have special arrangement to ensure the skin is in an excellent cosmetics condition by checking the stock on arrival to us.
Please kindly confirm to accept the above special arrangement on the Pleo RB return and replacement.

Hi IMR! It is good to know that they are going to stand by what they sold and have you return Pleakly. It does seem odd though that they want you to send him back first. Didn't some on this forum get a new one sent to them first and then packed up the defective one to return? Do you trust them to send you a new one? It would be worth it to me to have one without defective skin, but I would be on pins and needles waiting for the new one to arrive. Good luck with everything. I will miss Pleakly! :(

Further update:
if the returned Pleo RB is proved to be a factory defect,
I wonder if this is code for we may decide no to replace him. How will they decide if he is a factory defect? Apart from coming pre hatched and the holly armpit problem Pleakly does function correctly in all other ways doesn't he? (I know I am being negative!) I do hope they do the right thing and replace him. :)
Interesting that they say the skin is handmade so each one is different. I would have thought they would use a machine to make the skins. %)

Yeah I would have thought that the skin would be done by machine also.
It would be a good idea to ask Innvo Labs about that.

Since I bought from a reseller it is not up to Innvo to deal with this issue, even though it is their product. The same thing happened with Matilda who was bought through Harvey Normans, I had to send her back first, she was sent away to be looked at, approval to issue a new one had to be sent back and then I received Lilo. Of course in that case I didn't have a choice, Pleoworld didn't ship overseas at that point.

We will miss Pleakly a lot. :( I hope they sort out a replacement for you quickly. And here's hoping the new one will have the improved skin and new firmware. :)

I am sorry to hear about Pleakly,, it seems more and more Pleo Rb are having to be sent back for various problems, both green as well as Pink and blue varieties. I think you are right on target saying that buyers should stay with PleoWorld if they want to not have to deal with the kind of problems you have been facing. I am talking about the response of course, as it seem there are no Pleo Rb that have been inmune to the problems since their introduction in December. Hopefully this new software release will help some future Pleo Rb from the same problems and the dispair their owners have been going through,
I do hope you get your replacement soon and I am truley sorry that Pleakly has to be returned. :(

Pleakly is on his way back today. Now all I can do is wait and see what Gimmedigi have to say about him. I hope it doesn't take too long... I miss him already.
Edit: I have to admit, Gimmedigi does have good service when they put their minds to it, their response times of late has been excellent. I have updated my first post accordingly.

Pleakly arrived safely back at Gimmedigi's today and they have acknowledged the problem and hope for a resolution by the end of the week :)

That is good to hear IMR, I hope you get Pleakly back very soon, Do you know if you are getting a replacement or reskin, new skin for Pleakly ? That was pretty fast considering how far Pleakly had to go, a lot farther than Baby had to go, Baby was sent back on the 22'nd ( this past week) and was received on the 25th. I am hoping to hear something this week. I asked for a email when they send the replacement so I know when to expect her. Will they email you too, so you know he is on the way back to you?

Good to hear that Pleakly arrived safely. I hope that Gimmedigi fixes things for you. If I may ask, IMR, did you have to send him back through Gimmedigi, or could you have gotten an exchange through Innvo? I also bought mine through Gimedigi. I was just curious. I tried to buy my pink rb through the chinatete website, but when I clicked on the English icon, it sent me to the US site with the green rb's . :'( I really wanted a pink one, since it is my favorite color. Also DD's favorite color.

You have to send back through Gimmedigi, who do have good service when they want to put their minds to it %) It is unfortunate that they didn't put their minds to it sooner though :P

They have quite a nice deal on the accessories, and if you live anywhere other than America their shipping is cheaper than Pleoworlds.
But more importantly!.. Here is the first glimpse of my new little dino, can't wait until Pleakley arrives down under :D Gimmedigi have really gone out of their way to fix the problem once they were aware of it. So I am very pleased to say I would recommend them and I will be shopping with them again :)
