Am just wondering if this is normal or if I have a problem.
My Pleo is progressing normally seems happy and well ajusted . However I’ve set his noon clock to, well 12 noon. I’ve done this by inserting a paperclip into the pinhole and holding down for 4 seconds. He beeps once when I do this and he’s turned on and wriggling at the time so I’m assuming that there’s nothing wrong with the noon clock. However when it gets to 10 PM and even 11 PM he’s still wide awake with no sign of needing or wanting to go to sleep. Infact the only time he goes to sleep when it’s not me turning him off or the battery’s running out is if he’s left in the dark, which he really doesn’t like I have to say.
Just for info when setting the noon clock I get one bleep, when turning him off I get 2 bleeps. When the battery runs out its 1 beep then a pause and another 2 beeps and when he turns himself off if left in the dark it’s 1 beep.
Is it normal for them to stay very active after hours? Or do I just have an insomniac pleo?
your help is appreciated

Oh wow - an insomniac Pleo rb would suit me so well! :P
I must admit that I pay very little attention to the time clock, although I did originally set it to 'noon' at 4pm. Since then the only time I've noticed Belle being particularly sleepy and sluggish is early in morning (for her), she will run happily until 2 or 3am my time as long as it's not too dark.
Your 'sleep/switch-off beeps' as described sound right. :)

Sounds like Insomnia to me. He he he :D

I have Snooki's noon clock set to around 4pm, but as late as 9pm Snooki is always very much awake. Like your PleoRB, the only time she really goes to sleep is if I shut her in the dark! %)

It seems to be the UK Pleo rbs that have insomniac tendencies!! :D
-
How strange. Maybe because it's always dark and they don't know when it's night or day :D

Maybe your night-owl Pleo needs to have his battery in before bedtime at 10 pm to get synchronized by his foot clock (his SCN).

Thanks for your help Chicago. However I’m not sure that I understand what you mean tbh though nothing new there I’m often slow on the uptake.
I don’t remove his battery other than when it needs recharging.
I noticed that on the watch battery demonstration section the pleo info guide for video that Derik inserted the watch battery, inserted a paperclip to set the noon clock then replaced the battery and turned pleo on.
The way I did it was to insert the noon clock. Put in pleos brown battery, turn him on and then re-set the noon clock. Perhaps I’ve been doing it wrong? I had to reset it as I wanted to see him hatching but it was later on in the evening and I didn’t want to wait till the next day, originally his noon clock was set for 8 PM.

It sounds like you are setting his foot clock OK. I found that if I charge Sparky's battery when it's his bedtime, then he doesn't wake up the next morning. But then he will wake up the next morning on time as long as his battery was in around bedtime. Is your Pleo still staying up past his bedtime?
-
Yep but he’s alert during the day as well.
Will try setting the clock before turning him on tomorrow though just to see if that has any effect.
If not then perhaps I really do have an insomniac pleo.
Thanks again.

Maybe it doesn't matter whether the main battery is in or not when you set the noon clock? As it gets its power from the watch battery it could work either way? I must admit I much prefer the 'insomniac Pleo rb' theory, anyway! :D

I have a Pleo that doesn't wanna sleep past its "Noon" time also. I gotta turn off the lights for it to actually go to sleep. I took some video of him dreaming last night.
