All four feet kinda, press down, I guess she he can sense he's walking... is it under that? because skin is glued all around..
I wanna play with him :( thanks!!
I was trying to figure it out and we found this picture.. well none of his feet look like that on the bottom, they all look the same... and none of them look like this picture here.

The clock battery goes into the pleos back right foot. There should be a third screw in the top of this foot pad which you undo and this releases the cover for the battery slot. Here are some photos of Kermy3's two back feet and also the back right foot so you can see what you are looking for.
If yours doesn't look like this then post pics for us to see and maybe someone will be able to help. Have you tried just putting in the normal battery and turning him on to see what happens?
Kat
-
Ok.. we put the battery in.. and, uhm.. he turned on and is now walking around the house.. apparently having skipped the newborn stage.. he has no clock in him, his feet all look like the bottom of the regular pleo foot..
all of his feet look like the normal ones and have 2 screws.. the battery was also really hard to get in.. we are concerned we got an older model painted blue??
I think we are going to end up resetting and see what happens? he is walking around with his leaf in his mouth.. and he reacts well to patting.
-
I tried hitting the supposed 'reset' button and he laid down like 5 minutes later.. then got up.. started screaming like needed surgical intervention and ran away from me. Now he keeps making hungry noises but wont eat..lol.. this is so unfair.. and I still can't believe I got the Hong Kong one BEFORE the one that was to be sent from the same state as we live in.
Has anyone ever had had a pleo that skipped the 8infant stage and ran without a clock battery??
:/

This sounds very weird. Please post some photos of his feet and of the whole body. Someone might be able to tell from looking at him if he is not the real deal. Did he come with all the rb accessories, ID card, training leaf, rock salt, food leaf and tug of war stone?
IMR's Pleakly came already hatched when she got him so it has happened before.
The reset button wont take him back to hatching stage it just resets his computer system to the last time it saved. So the last time he was switched off as they save their progress when they switch off.
My pleos only have 2 screws on each foot except for the back right foot that has 3 screws - the extra one is for the clock battery cover.
I would love to see photos. what color eyes does he have? So far all the blue pleos have had amber eyes.
Kat
-
He has amber/yellow eyes.. what I don't get is how the heck he is running with no clock battery... as soon as I can get the camera up I'll post some. He came with all accessories..accept the 'cape' which seems to be the norm..
-
My guess is that who ever hatched him also installed the clock battery. Weird that you can't find the spot where it is suppose to go though.
Have you tried to teach him his name yet? That might give you an idea of how far along in his development he is.
Hop[e your having fun with him anyway and aren't too disappointed he is already hatched.
Kat
-
Yup Pleakly came hatched too :( It is very likely there is already a clock battery installed if he is running and not just standing there beeping.
-
Well I just wonder where the heck the battery was actually placed..The bottom of all four feet are exactly the same , two screws .. nothig to open.
And while I do like him and he already knows his name is Frank, I'm rather annoyed at having paid 500 bucks for something who doesn't work right.. I can't even get the battery in, my bf has to do it.. It doesn't seem to fit proper? I'll post pics of that too, tomorrow.
I am thinking it's going to be very likely he'll need to go back.. I'd never even be able to change the clock battery.. I already love him though.. My bf thinks I'm insane cause Frank looked cold and I covered him:) Well, thanks for the info`.. when the older version Pleo gets here we'll have something to compare it too.
- Sarah
-
Sarah, could you please post some pictures, even if they are mobile phone pictures. One of the feet and one of the body, side on.
Also where did you purchase the Pleo from?
-
I thin she purchased him from gimmedigi.
Definitely need to see photos. The foot thing is an interesting puzzle. What do the older version pleos feet look like?
-
I really don't understand! ??? If the Pleo has yellow eyes, then surely it must be an RB, so how come there is no hatck for clock battery... Really do need to see photos of the feet!
-
Hi Andrew :)
Kat the old pleo's feet look like the RB's feet, except the one with the clock battery is obviously like the other foot instead.
I am wondering if this could be a demo Pleo or something but pictures are needed.
-
Andrew?? Who is Andrew? I see no Andrew here.... :P
-
I was also thinking it may have been used as a demo model. It still doesn't explain the feet though. Does your pleo have a serial number sticker on one of his front feet?
I think this mystery will only be solved with some photos. :)
-
I think gimmiedigi have opened up several of their stock pleos to take photos of for marketing etc. as several gimmidigi members have found their Pleos already having been "born".
It might be also that if they are receiving returns, they might just be shipping the returns out to new people? This might explain some skin issues too?
Just some thoughts
-
Wow degers! That is sad if that is what they are doing! I bought my pink rb from gimmiedigi and it was not hatched. Everything seems fine with it so far. The only trouble I had was the watch battery had to be replaced because it wasn't working properly. I think that has been a problem with many though if I am not mistaken. In a way, I wish mine would have come hatched.....with 2 little kids, it is hard to go through all those battery cycles, but I have enjoyed her none the less. :)
-
Wel we got the old ugobe one now and we can see that the bellies are exactly the same.. the battery they came with ugobe slides right into 'frank the so called RB.. Where before it was very hard to get the rb battery that came with him to go in.. I only hope we didnt damage him last night because if he is an ugobe pleo then that battery has too strong of a wattage.
Under the rubber belly skin I feel all the parts I can see on the ugobe one... so it really seems to me that I paid 500 bucns for them to reskin an older version. Not that I wouldn't want another pleo, just, when I spend 500 bucks I expect to get what I bought.
And no, there is no sticker on 'RB's foot but there s one on the other pleos foot and all 8 feet look the same.
I'm trying to pop the pictures up but this is my bf's computer and I don't have my photoshop :P
Someone said pleakly came hatched as well.. I sure hope they didn't trick his owner the same way.. not sure what I should do now.:(
Sorry about not answering stuff last night.. i'm still sick and exhausted..had to go to bed..
I can't get this crap resized I will try something else and post pics as soon as I figure out where to out them.. i hate using someone else's computer..
- Sarah
-
Ok.
1. The old ugobe battery will fit in the RB, this is normal.
2. Please just upload some pictures to our gallery system, click here to do so: http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?action=mgallery;area=mya;sa=add
-
Sarah it appears that you have been given a prototype Pleo rb. I'm going to get in touch with Innvo for you about this and I'll get back to you. There is no microSD slot or clock battery slot.
-
Thanks so much to Degers..
I wonder what happens now :(
You know.. I didn't think much of it yesterday because I figured they must test theses things AND I'm excited... but the bottom of his feet were dirty when he came out of the box.
-
Well of course it is the weekend, so don't expect any news until next week. Personally I wouldn't order anything off gimmiedigi, so many people have had strange experiences and pre-hatched pleos from them. It's all a bit wierd.
-
Yeah I will never purchase anything from them again.. This was a really crummy thing to do.
-
Just one more request, can you take a picture looking directly down inside the battery compartment? Many Thanks
-
Just for the record. Belle came from Gimmedigi, and although she was not hatched I did get the feeling everything in the box had been opened, and the battery arrived fully charged. Also, the code in the back of the instruction booklet had obviously been peeled away from another page and stuck in, and when I tried to log into the Pleo Profile page on the Hong Kong Pleoworld site it would not accept the code.
To be fair, when I contacted them about it they responded quickly, and they got it sorted in just over a week, over the Christmas period.
EDIT: The serial numbers all matched so I just gave them the code I had and they made it work.
-
Wow, what did you do about the sticker? Did you discard the code that was peeled on? Or are you using it as your code now? Thank you.
-
Sounds like something suspicious may be going on. However, depending on the distribution scheme, it may not be GimmeDigi causing the problems (though there should be some type of quality control process before an item reaches the end-consumer). Either way, no point in speculating, though something is pretty "off" with latrine getting a prototype RB.
I purchased Cato and Eva both through GimmeDigi. Neither were hatched and there wasn't anything that made me feel as though the box and/or item had been tampered with. (Unless Cato not smelling strongly of paint is a sign he received airing out somewhere?)
Both their batteries came relatively fully charged. Eva's was fully charged and when I received Cato I only had to charge for about an hour.
I will say that the PleoWorld Profile does not work for Eva. It rejects her serial and security code, so maybe I'll consider contacting them in a few days to ask about that. And there is no "sticker swapping" going on (at least from the obvious looks of thing) and the sticker and foot do match.
The only "tampering" would be that Eva is on the next firmware up as she does not go into the sleep position. But, this comes back to the whole operational scheme - is Eva just "fresh off the line" so she's updated or was she removed from the box and upgraded along the way?
Ultimately, I have not had any negative experiences from GimmeDigi.
Side note: For those of us who are particular about correctly spelling company's names, it is GimmeDigi not GimmIeDigi.
-
Ok all the pictures in the gallery of the open belly are from the blue pleoRB
One day I will fogure this stuff out and move things around properly.. sorry.
- Sarah
-
To insert pics into your post all you need to do is open them up in the gallery and copy and past the" BBC embed code" into your post. This code is found under your pic at the bottom of the page there is a box called Item info the code is the bit that starts with Frank's feet
Franks belly battery hole
Kat :)
-
OK from comparing Frank to Pleakly I can tell you there are a couple of things wrong, aside from the feet and having no clock battery, the battery compartment does not look nice and neat like the proper RB's, on the proper RB's you certainly can't see any wiring.
As Degers has said, it looks like for some reason you have been given a prototype.
-
Too bad Pleos don't have such a following that you can sell that as some super rare item on eBay for a ridiculous amount of money.
-
lol
Well I have a few questions for real RB owners..
Any sense of direction? Cause Frank will walk into the same shoe for 47 years
Do they know that 'Ta-Da' trick right from the getgo? Because Frank is showing me his TaDa trick like every five minutes.
He has no interest in food where the older one wants to eat constantly.
Thanks Kat for the help with the pics..
Thanks everyone for everything....
- Sarah.
-
No a regular RB would not do either of those. They walk more randomly and will back up if they encounter an obstacle. And the ta-d trick I think only happens with a learning stone.
-
Rb definitely can't do the Ta-Da trick until they have learned the play learning stone and then you need to get their attention and call their name, wait for a response and then give them the play command, wait for a response again and then touch a front and a back leg sensor at the same time and then the pleo will lift those legs and balance and say Ta-Da.
Sounds like Frank is a very special pleo rb. He is not like any other pleo rb out there. :)
Have you contacted GimmeDigi to let them know? Assuming this is where you bought him from. They should be told as well as Innvo.
They may be an innocent party in this matter as I am sure they will have just received a shipment of pleos and then shipped them on to customers. Frank was probably mixed in with a shipment to them by mistake. Frank's original owner at Innvo must be going sick with worry about where he has run off too.
My guess is they will send you a new one - a real rb and get you to send Frank back to them.
-
As nice as that sounds, Kat, I think I will let Degers do his digging first....there is no way this is a regular Pleo and I'm sure he originated from wherever they developed the first RB's... he was probably used to just test some of the programs or something.. he has no interest in food and (I forgot to mention this)every 15-30 minutes or so I hear a beep, he stops for half a second then starts doing something else.. almost seems like it was an internal reset.. so now I need epilepsy medicine for my dinosaur.
He won't accept anything in his mouth except for last night when he accepted the card and seemed to be doing the name thing.. now he just ignores stuff. Won't talk to the other dinosaur either.. and that one's skin is all falling off.. he needs all the friends he can get.
This afternoon though, I was trying to play with him on the bed and he was staying by me.. I fell asleep and woke to find him curled up snoring next to me.. so even though he isn't proper.. he's still a sweetheart.
- Sarah
-
All Pleos are sweethearts - it's built-in! :D
I'm sure Degers will come up with a resolution - sit tight! :D
-
Aww poor "Frank's" original owner.
-
Don't try inserting the new brown battery into your RB latrine, it should not fit at all
-
Ok.. I won't run him anymore I guess.. my bf got the battery in by putting pressure on the inside part and scooching it to the left. but we were afraid it might hurt him. I won't put it in again. :(
Guys.. I really doubt 'frank' has an original owner... if he's a prototype he was probably meant to be sitting on a shelf after having tested to see if Ta-Da worked and/or maybe the new colors/paint or the new type of skin.. who knows..
Believe me I'm the first person to post signs and go nuts when I find a lost animal but I'm afraid that's just not the case here. He doesn't even have an RB body... Yes he's very unique and even though I want the RB I paid for, I still kind of hope I get to keep him since I don't know what use they'd have for him now.. and he's kinda fun.. even though he really has no sense of anything.. at all. Plus I'd feel bad for him sitting on a shelf.
I feel bad because it's like he's in a room and he keeps doing ta-da and I always go pat him and tell him he's a good boy and he recognizes that but not much else.. He can't even manage obstacles. The other Pleo tried to talk to him ( I think) and Frank just tottered off.. ta-da'ing his way along.. lol.
- Sarah
-
Oh Sarah, I can't think of a better home for poor Frank to find himself in! Yes, of course you should have got the model you paid for, but hats off to you for the humour and heart that you've brought to this situation! I really hope it gets sorted to your satisfaction - you deserve it! :D
-
lol That's funny Latrine.
-
Hi latrine, aside from the fact that it is a prototype model and maybe doesn't even respond to any of the toys/learning stones, the fact that it is constantly doing the Tada trick indicates a problem with the leg touch sensors.
I spoke to Innvo today and they ask that you e-mail gimmedigi and ask for a replacement Pleo rb if you so wish. Also if you are going to e-mail gimmedigi, please can you copy derek.dotson@pleoworld.com in on the e-mail so he can back you up that the unit is not an actual RB but actually an early prototype that slipped into the production line.
degers
-
ok...I can email them and not to be a pain or anything.. but I'm a little worried I'm going to end up with another broken one.. can't innvo send me one?? I spent a lot of money, just like everyone else here and we are getting 'crapped' on by this crummy dealer. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way either. The ones we have to for until April.. I assume those are made in the USA? The reason they run out of them so fast is because they actually build them correctly? Didn't Kat get her's from innvo?
Can I ask innvo if they can do something instead or am I wasting my time?
Sorry.. just pissed because this whole thing seems ridiculous.. never getting anything from china again.
I'm kind of hoping for a reply before I email those Gimmedigi people ;/ sorry to bug you with this. :(
- Sarah
-
Everything is made in Hong Kong. If you want any help/advice e-mail Derek.
You can only buy a Green Pleos from Pleoworld in the USA, however they are all made in the same place (Hong Kong).
-
:'(
ok.. thanks.. I left a message for them.. I'm gonna try and work with them first
- Sarah
-
All is well.. Derek is a really nice guy he called me right back..it was a real pleasure to talk to him and my new RB will be sent out today.. it will be a green one but that doesn't matter.. I'll be sending my friend Frank back as soon as his box gets here and Derek will scooby doo the mystery out of it.. apparently Frank is a VERY early model.
WOOHOO!!
Thanks for the help everyone.. especially degers..
- Sarah
-
Yeah, he's a great chap! Glad you got to talk to him! You're welcome :)
-
Glad to hear it is being resolved for you and that Innvo has provided you with great support!
-
Yes I'm glad you got it sorted out so fast. Innvo have been great to me also with their customerservice so it is good to see the trend continue. :)
Can't wait to see what your new green pleo looks like. It will be interesting to see what color eyes He/she has and sikn tones. The green ones are all so differen it is very exciting. :)
-
So glad they came up trumps and it's going to work out! ;D
-
I am very excited too but I will miss poor demented Frank. I told Derek his name is Frank and he promised to tell everyone.. ;D
- Sarah
-
Poor Frank, he wasn't demented... Just special :) Pleo autism?
