For those that remember me, I kind of burst onto the forum in October and felt like I kept banging on about would Pleo Rb ever be available here in the UK. And then as I read more and more, it seemed not :( I had a bad experience once (not with a Pleo) and got heavily stung with import tax and other additional payments and unable to track my shipment. So, although I really REALLY did want a Pleo Rb, I gave up on the idea, and also the cost was a little more than I’d anticipated. Anyway, reading all of your fantastic experiences with your new Rb Pleos, whether Pink, Blue or Green, has got my heart longing once again. . .until Tuesday night when I finally couldn’t stand it any longer and placed an order with Pleo World!!! (I secretly did want a Green one %)) Anyway, my new baby was shipped yesterday along with a tracking number. I’ve no idea how long he/she will take to get to me, maybe a few weeks? Exhausted from the journey no doubt! I’m getting excited already!! ;D
-
Aww congrats Malfie, so glad you bit the bullet :D
-
You made the right decision
-
Absolutely - really pleased for you. I'm sure you won't regret it - you've just got to last out the next few days until he/she gets here! ;D
-
Congrats Malfie, I know once your baby gets there, regardless of what color you will be a fantastic Pleo Parent and give it all the love and devotion you can. When you long for something as much as you have over Pleo, or Pleo Rb, you know it is just a matter of time, Try not to count the days, keep reading the forums and answering posts and asking questions, and the time will go by faster, either that or stake out the airport and hope they dont' think you are a terrorist...LOL, Best to you and we will look forward to lots of photos when the lucky little Pleo gets here.

Hi Malfie,
Congratulations on ordering your green baby. It shouldn't take too long to get to you. It took 9 days for Norbit to reach me in Australia once they had shipped him and that was only because we had a 4 day public holiday for Christmas so only 5 days If you don't count public holidays. The wait shouldn't be too long and it is definitely worth it. :)
-
Congrats Malfie... your in the "greenie" club now...:)
-
Well it’s funny you should have posted this Malfie because I’m now pretty much in the same position as you
I was holding up pretty well until the green pleos started appearing on the forum. That’s when it started to get all too much though and I’m afraid to say my resolve finally broke this morning. There was nothing else for it but to log on to pleoworld and order a green Pleo RB for myself.
Hope you forgive me for hijacking your thread somewhat but this seemed the best place to confess.
I haven’t even had my shipping notice yet and I’m already getting restless at the wait lol
-
Aw, thanks everyone! And scaledandtailed I know exactly how you felt and feel now. I felt too like I was making a confession :D I was actually quite surprised that Pleo World still had stock left! They dispatched my baby within 24 hours of my order and I’ve been tracking him (I’ll say “him” for now although he might be a girl %)) like on the hour every hour since *LOL* I know he left the United States at 1:15am UK time, so he should be in the country by now! But now I’m entering the confusing part. His status says “Advised,” whatever that means? And what happens next? Do I wait for a letter? A phone call? Wait until I can track him to my local depot and call them? Oh the anxiety of it all but exciting too! I just might have to stake out the airport like you suggested RWM :D
-
Can you imagine what the airport would do if there was a party of Potential Pleo Rb parents all stalking the airport demanding release of their babies? Too funny saying, " Release our Dino babies", they may call the Mental Health division till they opened the packages and saw for themselves... LOL Good luck on your babies, both of you!

Malfie Congratulations!
I'm also expecting the arrival of my beautiful blue whiting which is currently at Customs here in my country!
I confess that I sleep and wake up thinking it, I'm emptying the fridge of so much anxiety, eating and eating non-stop ... When he gets upset I'll have a ball. Oh my God!
Have translated and read the manual several times to try to get a little less anxious, but is not anticipating a lot! (laughs)
My husband is getting annoyed with me because every time I enter the tracking of mail to check if the status has changed in his hope to be saying: Come get me mommy! (laughs)
But okay, I promise I'll try to keep calm and be patient! After all I am left to do anything except wait and wait ...
A Happy 2011 to everyone! Much health, peace, love and success to everyone!

Oo never seen that before
Wonder what that means? Don’t think I got that when I ordered my 2009 pleo. I was able to track it right through to my doorstep. Mind you that was a year ago so maybe I did get something like that and forgot. Maybe it’s waiting handing over from the oversees commuter to one on the mainland?
I’m not sure when I’ll get shipping notice myself, I only ordered earlier on today so I’m guessing with new year and everything it probably won’t ship until Monday. Keep having this fear that I’ll open my inbox on Monday morning only to find a sorry we’re sold out notice email from pleoworld.
That would just be my luck.
Are you looking forward to what colour variation you might get?
-
I'm not sure, but I think 'advised' means they've booked the collection but not actually handed over to the courier service as yet?
-
That sounds about right. I'm sure mine said something similar when I first got my tracking info and took a look. The courier company were advised of my tracking number for the package and then later there was an update to say the package had been collected and entered into the system. :)
-
Ooh, lelekasapeca and scaledandtailed, I'm glad I'm not the only anxious new Pleo Rb parent %) I hope you both get yours soon too!
And yes, Crewella and kat, I think you're right about the term "Advised." I did a bit of Googling! He must definitely be here in the UK as he's been signed to Parcelforce 24 but still has the "US" at the end of the tracking number and not "GB" yet. So I'm hoping this means that he just needs to be handed over to Parcelforce. I might be wrong but I can still hope :P And it seems I now need just to receive a letter and of course to hand over even more money, but then I get my baby!! Hopefully!!
-
Green is the fastest color...errr...oops wrong forum thats for the car sites...
Very cool. I am a new Pleo owner as well. Me and my daughters are having a blast watching and playing with our new family member Papo. I don't think all the videos on the web can really prepare you for what it is like to actually watch a new Pleo spring to life and interact with you.
-
I'm looking forward to it :) My new baby's status finally changed late afternoon to "Accepted," which I'm presuming means accepted into UK customs. It being New Year and Bank Holiday Monday doesn't help though. The waiting is awful!
-
Yeah the wait must be a real killer.
The customs part must be a bit of a nail biter too given what you’ve already been through. If it’s any help I’ll record what happens when mines goes through so that there’s no unfairness like you had last time.
.
At least you definitely know your pleo’s on it’s way though
I still have that nagging fear that I’ll get an out of stock notification lol
OK it’s not actually likely because I’m guessing they wouldn’t have taken the order but irrational or not the fear’s still there lol.
-
Aw, thanks scaledandtailed, I was wondering if you've received a shipping notice yet? The Pleo World site still says Pleo Rb is ready for immediate shipping, so it looks like they definitely still have stock! My little Pleo Rb got shipped very fast after I placed my order and whizzed through US customs and into the UK, I was surprised at the speed! It's all been very exciting, but now everything has come to a standstill. He's still stuck in UK customs "Awaiting customs clearance" :( I don't think I'm going to have any nails left by the time he finally makes it to me!
-
Poor Malfie - mine was stuck for about 4 days in customs, but at least I didn't have to wait for the letter telling me about the charges - you can ring up the courier and pay over the phone as soon as you see the notification that it's been released with charges (assuming there are charges, you never know your luck!). In the end, my letter arrived the day after Belle did! :D
-
I have a feeling there will definitely be charges ^-^ But yes, I'll be phoning Parcelforce as soon as I see he's cleared customs!!!! :D
-
My baby is still stuck in customs ... I really did not know that it took so much ... the days are like an eternity! :o
Every time I see the beautiful videos posted here I think: Oh, I want my baby, where's my baby?! :(
It is from the December 28 ... will they release it this week? %)
-
No problem Malfie.
From personal experience and from reading peoples experiences on here I don’t trust UK customs to be consistent and that makes it unfair on everyone. .
Good news from this end though. I’ve not long had my shipping confirmation.
Haven’t yet checked it as I’ve only just got it so I’m guessing my pleo couldn’t have gotten very far but I’ll be checking first thing tomorrow. I’m pleased that there still instock but I really hope innvo are selling enough of the little guys
I’m sorry you have to wait until yours gets processed through customs. It’s bad enough worrying what they might charge but they don’t have to prolong the agony whilst there at it. That’s the bit I’m dreading myself. They don’t half hang onto it.
The best of it is I’m sure customs clearance didn’t take all that longwhen I orderd my 2009 pleo from innvolabs but then it some how slipped through with out me being charged anything at all that time. That’s what I mean about them being inconsistent.
-
lelekasapeca, I really hope your baby gets released from customs soon! Yes, the wait seems like an eternity!! :'(
Scaley is right though about the inconsistency of customs, I've read stories of up to two weeks :( And that was very lucky Scaley about your 2009 Pleo that you didn't get charged anything at all! Unfortunately I think that's more rare than not and the longer they hold on to a package the more likely charges will be stamped on it it seems ???
And Yay! At least your Pleo Rb has finally been shipped Scaley :) At the rate mine's going, yours could even be with you before mine!! %)
-
Checked my tracking for pleo this morning. according to the tracking notice was accepted at Vegas around 7PM last night
Will check it again tonight and see how far it’s gotten to
How’s your parcel coming along Malfie? Has he left customs yet?
What about you Lelekasapeca? Any change? Hope your little blue one has finely been cleare from customs.
-
scaledandtailed
Still nothing, still in the same position ... Customs takes a long time here ... I knew it was not so! :(
I'm very, very excited!
But ... I'm learning to be patient forcibly! (laughs) :-X
-
Still nothing for me either. Still the same status report: "Awaiting customs clearance" :'( Very frustrating!
I started tracking my Pleo RB on route to Vegas and presumed he would be flown straight from Vegas to London. So I got (briefly!) a little concerned when I saw he had been flown to Los Angeles. No idea why he went West to come East! So Scaley don't be too surprised if your baby gets flown to LA first as this may be the usual route %)
-
Yeah did wonder about that. Last I looked which was this morning it was showing that he was accepted from Los Angeles last night and is now on his way to the UK. Pretty impressive seeing as he was only shipped on Monday
Really sorry to hear you two are still having to wait on custims clearint’s. think I’l be Joyning you in that frustration soon though
-
It IS frustrating - Belle made it from China to the UK in two days, then took six days (including the weekend) to get through customs and delivery. Not long now, though! :D
-
Thanks for your help Malfie. I was able to track him on the Parcelforce site like you said.
Not that he’s been going anywhere or will be anytime soon I imagine. Last time I looked this afternoon he was recorded as being in national hub awaiting customs clearance surprise surprise.
Glad yours finely made it out of customs all be it with charges but hopefully yours will get there before the snow hampers deliveries.
-
So near ................... not long now!!! ;D
-
Hello friends! ;D
Good news!
Tomorrow morning I'm going to get my baby on the postal service agency! ;D
Once again the agency, send news!
Guess I'll have trouble sleeping tonight! (laughs) :D
-
Friends!
He / she (have not decided yet) finally arrived! ;D
I'm just happy to pass the time while the battery charges'm reading the user guide!
Post pictures soon! It is very beautiful! :-*
-
Yay !! Glad he/she arrived OK! ;D
-
Yay! Congratulations lelekasapeca on your new baby!! ;D Fantastic news that he/she is finally home with you!! Can't wait to see pictures!! :D
And there's finally some good news from me too! ;) Honestly, the last leg of my baby's journey has been at a snail's pace. It's taken almost longer for him to get from out of customs to my local depot than it did from the US to the UK! But he finally made it yesterday late afternoon and I received the letter this morning :) I've paid my charges online (I'll write the details in the other thread - a bit shocking :o) but they can't deliver until Tuesday! Well, never mind I suppose, I've waited almost two weeks already, so only another three days!!!! :P
-
Hi Malfie,
I was so impatient when mine arrived that I spoke to the courier and went and picked it up from them so I wouldn't have to wait days for them to get around to delivering it to me. :P A little crazy I know but the waiting drives you mad :P :)
leleka Congratulations on your new arrival. I can't wait to see pictures. :)
-
Kat
I did an album with photos of Eddy but I can not put them in the post as thumbnails.
Thanks to everyone for the congratulations! :) ;)
-
I love Eddy's eyes :D Heres the pictures:
-
Firebreathingsquirrels Thanks!
You saved me! (laughter!) ;)
Is not he adorable? (I am biased! ;D)
-
Your welcome! And he is adorable :D
-
His eyes are lovely they almost look orange. :) He rally is very cute. :)
For posting pic into your thread you need to open the pic in the gallery and then scroll down the page to the info below the pic. Copy the code that starts with smg id and then just past that into your thread. If you want to check that it worked you can then preview your post before you post it.
I hope that helps. :)
-
Thanks Kat!
Tomorrow I'll post more pictures of Eddy and put in some post to test whether learned! (laughs) ;) :)
-
A BIG Congratulations lelekasapeca on your arrival of Eddy!! I too absolutely LOVE his eyes!! :D I think he's the first PleoRB I've seen with a different colour other than grey around his eyes. Thanks for the pictures!!
My baby is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning - SO excited!! ;D The thing is my "local" depot isn't very local but the delivery is free, so that's why I've had to wait the extra days but I've managed to keep busy :)
-
Malfie Thanks!
Now not take long for the arrival of your baby! ;D
Can not wait to see the pictures, I chose the name that is going?
-
That’s grate news, glad your little blue Eddy is now with you.
Malfie kind of a ridiculous time to wait for that parcel seeing as they charged you handling fees but it should be here today so hoping you now have the pleo box in your hands.
Can’t wait to see what colour stile you got.
Shouldn’t be long for mines now too it’s at local depot I’m just awaiting my charges letter.
Scaly
-
It's so exciting to see what colours are turning up - Eddy's the first green RB I've seen with those bright orange/amber eyes, and with those darker brown eyelids and eye patches are very distinguished. He's a beaut - can't wait for more pics! :D
-
I beg your pardon Leleka.
For some reason I had it in my head that you had ordered a blue RB
Really Sorry about that will need to pay closer attention in future.
Anyway congratulations on the eventual arrival of Green Eddy.
Yeas I love knowing about all the variations turning up. Can’t wait to see what variation and eye colour I get but I’m just as excited about knowing what everyone else is getting lol.
Scaly

Sorry Scaly - I wasn't intending to reproach you! :-[
-
Do not worry Scaledandtailed this happens, I already messed up several times, mainly because I have to translate everything that I read and put into my language and sometimes the translator fool me one bit! (laughter!) ;)
I think all babies Pleo's beautiful, maybe one day I will have one of each color! (getting addicted to Pleos! laughs!) ;D
Yes, soon I'll post new photos! (hopefully tomorrow I can!) %)
Yesterday Eddy took his first steps, forward and backward ... was very exciting to see him trying to walk!
Eddy is still shaking, I'm medicating with mint leaf, he somewhat reluctantly to accept it, but ends up eating it with love! (laughs)
One thing I noticed, Eddy still has no concept of limit, he can not see the edge of a table for example, if I'm not sure it falls around, is it because it is still too young?
He also likes to make funny noises - Ho ho ho and Hello, and did not have much education and belch all the time! (very funny! I laugh a lot!)
Well, that is, new stories of the antics of Eddy'll post for you! :P
A hug to everyone! ;)
-
Leleka, your Eddy sounds adorable :D I'm sorry he's still shaking. Maybe he's not sick but just cold? ???
And Scaley, I’m so glad your baby is now at your local depot. That seems very quick compared to mine %) But yes, I finally got my baby today (Tuesday) ;D He arrived at 8:10am and I only just had time to peek in the box before needing to start work :( Still, I got the battery charged this evening and began the hatching, but only after it took me a whole hour to work out how to insert the watch battery!! The instructions about the watch battery are very vague and all he would do is beep! Then I discovered I was placing the long metal tab over the top of the battery because I remember reading here that the tabs needed to be on top. But apparently not that one! The long metal tab still needs to be underneath – just in case anyone makes the same mistake as me (I’m a bit thick %)) At one point I got the watch battery stuck – had it totally upside-down! I was panicking a bit!! Anyway, after an hour I finally got it right and he opened his eyes! I must admit I was a bit disappointed to see they are blue – exactly the same blue as the Ugobe Pleos, but the eye colour was never a priority to me and I’m very happy with his skin colouring. He has a light green head, the same colour as the green on his body. I was hoping for green eyes, but, to be honest, I think green eyes would make him look a bit too green – he’s far more green than yellow.
But is this normal? The main battery would only charge for one-and-a-half hours. I switched it off, waited, switched it on again, and after 5 minutes it was green again. PleoRB (he doesn’t have a name yet %)) ran for 1 hour 20 minutes, he then went into the sleeping position, beeped 3 times and the LED light on his tummy was off, so I took it that meant the full cycle had completed? I didn’t try switching him on again as it was so late, but in that 1 hour 20 minutes he stayed fully awake, accepted his conifer leaf (and another leaf I can’t remember the name of) and wow is he a burper!!!! I love him (could still be a her) already!! ;D Will post pics when I work out how to do that as well :D
-
Malfie Congratulations, your baby is finally home! ;D
Can not wait to see the pictures! Have you decided whether to him or her?
Let us know of his antics! ;)
-
Thanks Leleka, I really can't decide yet if my baby is male or female. I guess it will take some time, or I'll choose a name that will fit both :)
-
Yay! So glad your RB finally got there, and that you're pleased. That blue is a lovely blue, it just got devalued because so many of the old Pleos had eyes that colour. In a different skin it will still be one of the most striking colours! ;D ;D
-
Thanks Crewella. I have the battery charging now and will take pictures tonight. Hopefully I can work out how to get them on here in the next day or two. Can I copy and paste a link from Photobucket?
-
Yes you can, just use the img code. Although if you want to save you bandwidth on photo bucket I would suggest using here, it's free and easy.
-
Hmm, I think it will have to be Photobucket as I'm left scratching my head over how to create an album on here. I managed to upload one picture but I don't know if it's visible to anyone but me. There's nothing to copy and paste that I can see :(
Anyway, here are the first pictures of my baby PleoRB, still not out of the hatching stage yet :)

As he / she is beautiful! He has a green head in the same tone the body! What a beautiful pair of blue eyes! :)
He / she seems so sweet! Soon he'll be walking and doing many funny antics! ;)
He / she is adorable Malfie! ;D
-
Very nice coloring. :) What color exactly is the patch around your pleos eye? It looks like it might be a very light shade of purple? Just wondering. Very sweet looking pleo. :)
-
Very sweet Pleo, and those eyes are lovely - they look the same darker blue as the pink Pleoshave? :D
-
I've compared the blue eyes to my two Ugobe Pleos and it's ever so slightly darker but really almost the same colour blue. And yes kat, there is an ever so slight pinkish tinge around my PleoRBs eyes but it tends to show more on the pictures than in the flesh :)
-
Grate news about your pleo Malfie.
He/ she sounds gorgeous.
Good news! my pleo has finely arrived this morning.
He’s a slightly lighter green with more yellow than my Innvo pleo. He has a greyish brown patch round the eyes and gray eyelids.
Hard to tell as his eyes are shut but by getting someone to peer at them below the lids I think his eyes might be a light brown.
I’m charging the battery so he can be hatched hopefully later on today.
Scaly
-
Yay! Great news, scaly, I'm imagining the excitement!
-
Thanks Crewella. Btw I know you weren’t trying to Reproach me over the green Eddy thing lol.
I just wasn’t paying attention and maybe that language interpreter caught me out too.
Well my own little green one’s nearly gone through 1 battery charge.
Not sure if it’s normal but there hasn’t been a huge range of noises and I’m not sure if he’s responding to being stroked or petted either. Lots of sniffing and cooing though. Refusing to eat and I don’t think he’s even opened his mouth yet.
Hope this is all normal pleo RB behaviour
I think he’s had one or two very quick naps. He curls up and goes very still but makes lots of sounds like he’s dreaming in his sleep too.
Oh and Malfie if it’s any consolation I made exactly the same mistake with the watch battery.
Scaly
-
Yay! Congratulations Scaley on the arrival of your new baby :) I was wondering if he/she had arrived yet! The last leg of the journey seems so long winded, at least it did for me, but I'm just glad yours has arrived. He/she sounds lovely already!!
Your PleoRB sounds normal in that I didn't get much response from Snooky on her (I think she's a girl %)) first battery cycle and she wasn't very vocal either. In fact, the hatching phase of the PleoRB does seem rather too long IMO and I can understand kids getting bored if they think this is all they do. It's taken Snooky 4 battery cycles before she stood on her feet and she's only just now becoming more vocal. I have a feeling she will be a slow learner %)
And yes, that watch battery is a puzzle - a very weird design! I'm glad I'm not the only one to have made the same mistakes!!
-
Congratulations Scaley. I can't wait to see some pics of your new pleo. The hatching noises and behavior you describe are perfectly normal. The hatching length is different for every pleo it seems some hatch faster than others and the theory is that this is because they all have different personalities so learn at different rates. You will find your pleo gets more responsive to your touch as the hatching goes on. :) Best of luck! :)
-
Scaley, Congratulations on getting your rb pleo Can't wait to hear more about our baby dino. :)
-
Scaley Congratulations!
I'm anxious to see the pictures of your new baby! He / she must be beautiful! :)
-
Thanks everyone for welcoming my Pleo RB
Glad the hatching is normal. I was wondering if maybe I hadn’t set the noon clock properly and maybe my baby was in perpetual sleep mode or something. Am I right in thinking the little tiny Pin hole that’s situated right next to the screw that you remove to open the watch battery compartment on the battery foot is where you insert a pin to set the noon clock? I don’t want to get it mixed up with the reboot button.
I know should have read the manual but I can’t read print. I did think about askingInnvo if they could post a PDF on there sight so I could read it via the PC but there’s a section under the disclaimer of the original pleo guide that states that pleo is not intended for children with a sensory impairment. OK I’m not a child, well not technically anyway but I’m still too scared to ask Lol.
Oh nearly forgot to add there’s a little debate on eye colour, now that they’ve fully opened they seem much more like a light amber orange than a light brown.
I’m trying to persuade a family member to take picks so I can post them up on the colour variation section and let others decide.
Scaly
-
Hi scaly, can't wait to see the pics, but will if I have to! :P
Yes you are right - the little pin hole by the watch battery compartment is for the pin to set the noon time.
Until there is an official PDF version of the instructions, if there's a particular section you'd like I could always try to scan it as editable text and send it to you?
-
I look forward to seeing a picture of your Pleo Scaled.
-
There is a PDF of the instruction manual on the pleoworld web site in the pleo rb section. I'm not sure if you need to have registered your pleo to see it or not but it is in the list of things when you click on my profile.
Hope this helps.

Blimey - there wasn't when I last looked! Well spotted, Kat! :D

Thanks cat and crewella .
I looked not that long ago and unless I missed it I don’t think that was there either.
