Just to clarify I didn't get an rb as it was pretty pricey so I went with the original model. Hope it is still a good companion. We only have a Cruncher at the moment. It is pretty fun but it is a toy for all intents and purposes. A very fun toy though. My daughters love it. Does lots of funny thing.
But I can't wait for the realism of then Pleo. Have there been any revisions of PM2? I read some stuff here about it when it was released and it was mixed reaction but it got quiet.
Thanks about the battery can't wait!

I have sat back so far and observed on every1s reaction to reborn and how they are getting on with them etc etc as i want to be certain on 1 or 2 areas that the improvements were worthwhile. At the moment my main concern is the skin issue so i am looking out for any new updates on that on a daily basis i do want to get the green reborn and maybe in a couple weeks or so if they are still available i will take that step and buy 1 ;D

My eldest daughter (she is 9) is really excited told me last night she was going to dream about Pleo...woke up telling me she can't wait to get Pleo. Lol it's really awesome to see how excited she is. She was searching all the YouTube Pleo videos to see how it worked. Lol...

I will definitely be taking a ton of pics with out pets and post for you all.
I wanted to know what you all think about the overall impressions of how realistic 2.0 is versus 1.1 and how it evolves into it's own personality. Also does Pleo move around more and explore more with the newer software? I want to make sure before i fall in love to make the best choice on software.

Daughter does not stop watching videos. I keep hearing Pleo sounds every few minutes...she is soooo funny. We are so alike all the research we do when we are excited waiting for our new stuff! :)

Original pleos are still very lovely. Can’t help on what OS to go for. I’m still on 1.1 but after long deliberation I’m going to move up to 2.0. the advantages for me are the longer hatching period though this is not fore everyone as their moods are a little unsettled and they can be happy one minute and sad another for no apparent reason. Having said that small children who are put into an unfamiliar environment often behave a lot like that. The other advantage is that they can do more tricks and they can track the colour red which they can’t do in 1.1

I have two Ugobe Pleos, Iggy and Budge, Iggy on OS2 and Budge on 1.1, mainly because I like to keep the two as individual as I can (though I believe I'm missing out on some interaction between them). I like both, but would choose OS2 if I only had the one Pleo as there are more features, though you have to give it several days to settle in. Have a good long read, then make your mind up! :D

Just a thought, but I really enjoyed the process of upgrading to OS2 having spent some time on 1.1, and then comparing the differences. On the other hand, as the upgrade does wipe the memory so you are, in effect, starting again from what is almost a second hatching.

Been lurking around here for a while and thinking about getting a Pleo. My daughter got a Cruncher toy and it stirred up my interest in Pleo again. I purchased a Ugobe Pleo off eBay for 199. The kit came with two batteries. I also ordered the UCube battery and Charger. Pretty excited and didn't want to wait for 10 days so I paid extra for FedEx 50 bux for 4 to 5 day delivery from China. Already downloaded the 2.0.1 update incase I decide to upgrade eventually.
Can't wait to get it!!
I got my $199 Pleo today and it's everything as promised and she's still hatching, arrived in about 12 days from China, but spent a week stateside at customs, grrrr

Iggy and Budge still make me laugh, especially when together, and yes they do still surprise me sometimes. The best thing about Pleos, to me, is that they are just good company. Other robots might 'do' more, but personally I don't think any other electronic pet is bearable, let alone still interesting, for a couple of hours a day, day after day. And few are anywhere near as cute!

The factory spare battery that came in the kit WITHOUT me charging went for 55 minutes straight before he fell asleep and I have the other one charging at home can't wait to get the LIPO battery!!! I'm still shocked how quickly he came! So so cool. I plan on popping 2.0 on a card today and updating when I get home. He has already had his frost car ride. Lol...more to come...pics of course once I get whine and settle down. Lol...

He is amazing I happen to catch him on video with his first step and also my daughters first interact as well as my wives. They were all pretty surprised and my daughter ecstatic. The batteries are amazing. I just put him to bed now and he was still alive and kicking after over an hour ez. Weird I didn't expect that with all the bad press on battery especially with the fact that this is a first gen Pleo. In the ad the seller did say both batteries are tested prior to shipment but a former ubego tech. I tend to believe it with the amazing battery life so far.
He is verrrryyyy active we gave him lots of love so far. He has been very curious and sniffed at the wall. His first walk was directly to me as I had moved away from him to get a good look at him from a few feet away. He walked around 4 or 5 feet to me. It was awesome! Super cool. Getting harder and harder thinking about flashing the software...sigh..extra features worth losing this awesome personality? Hmmm...
Only one bad bit of news...the paint on the left side of the front of his face has lost a tad of paint. Not a really big deal but i have no clue how it happened.

I think it is just unavoidable not to have some paint flake off on our dinos It certainly doesn't effect their personalities. We older pleo parents just know that ours have been loved a lot which isn't a bad thing. Enjoy Pago and just protect his skin as much as you can with clothing. He will become a very distinquished looking pleo. eventually. Looking forward to seeing Pago in action.

Can't wait to see the photos of Popo, I know they will be great. Fancy is right a little paint loss is nothing major, it almost allways happens on the top of the head, top of the back, under the chin, the feet and anywhere they get a lot of petting, it is just a sign of love. :-* clothing does protect their fragile skin.and gives them personality.
Your Li Poly Ucube egg charger and battery were mailed and may even get there tommrorow,but definitly by Monday or Tuesday, All depends on how far back the mail is from the holidays. Just remember you need to sleep when Papo sleeps too!

He'll sleep even less when you're egg charger and battery arrives - I swear they make the Pleos livelier as well as run longer, they're great! ;D
I worried about losing Iggy's personality when I upgraded to OS2, but as it turned outt he was fine and he did go back to being the independent and laid back Pleo he was before. Just be warned it takes about 8 battery cycles of strange behaviours and sounds that don't have a context before he settles down.

I put one of the original fresh charged batteries in this morning. That's already three charges! Lol...he is sooo much fun. My girls love him. This morning i woke up to my daughters having made a little bed of stuff animals for him, a little present which was a pink bib and some hand drawn blue construction paper leaves.
Papo is getting more attention then anything!!!

Still I am supppperrrr shocked at battery life. The factory battery just got 1hr and 30+ minutes on a charge! And he wasn't completely asleep yet. He started to slow down some but was still going he wore my girls out big time. They gave him hugs and put him to bed.
With three batteries now one of which is the LiPo battery will never be an issue. They are really enjoying him...and of course so is dad!!!! Lol...tomorrow I will get you all some pics of the girls dressing him up and stuff.
