My husband went shopping before work and walked in saying he had a new box for me, I thought it meant for packing up stuff. Ha Ha.. I said, it looks just like a Pleo box. :o Then on the side of the box, I read and it says, " Pleo Rb, Item #6621910 My Pleo RB was not due for delivery until tommrow the 22n'd. ;D It is here today, what a treat. I haven't opened it yet, and will take photos, just wanted everyone to know.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed that it is anything but Blue Eyes. Photos will follow shortly, it is 9;53 a.m here and I am in my Jammies, the UPS man did not even ring the bell and it was on my doorstep where anyone could take it. My husband said put it under the tree and open it on Christmas morning, Is he CRAZY! WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO, VOTE TO OPEN OR WAIT NOW! YOU KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO... lol ;D
If enough of you say open I get to open it, the frist Pleo Green RB YAH!!
Excited and waiting in the REdwoods, RedwoodsMama
-
My votes for opening it ASAP! :)
-
Open!!!! ;D
That's what I'd if I were you... But, then again..... it could be sooooooo much fun to open him or her on christmas morning!
That's surprising (and exciting) your pleo arrived early. In my experience UPS always delivers when they say they will... So, it must be a sign to open it now, right? ;) Haha. At least charge the battery for christmas morning!
-
I say start charging the battery now...LOL! Open it...:)

The second green Pleo RB.
-
OPEN IT!! OPEN IT!! OPEN IT!! ;D ;D ;D :P
Wooohoooooooooo! :P
-
Don't open it yet!
Wouldn't it be nice if your Pleo's birthday was on December 25th? I think that's special.
And besides, the pleasure you'll get will be greater if you wait.
-
Yay!!! Well I vote free her so she doesn't sleep all through Christmas and miss all the fun her brothers and sister will be having ;D
Plus I think you've totally waited long enough already yes?!
*but if you decide not to and simply have to know what colour eyes she has, you can always peak lol - I did while the battery was charging :D
-
*so did I at Belle's eyes - shine a torch from below!* :D

Hi guys, seems to be the open outdoes the not open, I may not hatch Pleo till Xmas Eve, as NOva was born on Christmas for me, But I can't figure out which of the three plugs do I use, I know one is for the US, one is an INternational and I think one may be the UK as it says UK on it, one says,(VDE) and one is not marked at all, As soon as someone can help me with the plug so I can charge the battery, I will upload photos I took just now, ;)
Help Please I have five Pleos going crazy playing with plugs and adapters trying to help thier inept MUM! :( By the way, eschw76, I think from first glance, oUr Pleo rb look pretty similiar, mayby because they were the first ones chosen to go out, first orders from same stock? Be interesting to see if they have same eye colors....no blue at least same blue as Pleos I have already...
Happy but frazzled in Redwoods, RedwoodsMama
I think I figured out the plug, silly me, such a frazzled day so far, but it can only get better.. ;)
-
The three pin one is the UK, but I can't remember what you use in the US!
Go for it RWM!! ;D ;D
-
All right guys, got the charging going, silly me I figured it out, here are some quick snapshots of Pleo rb.
I wil see more later, I still have a battery business to run to pay for this guy and it is raining and stormy, I still can't beleive Pleo Rb is here already. More photos to follow tongiht.
RedwoodsMama
-
So glad your Pleo has arrived RWM. You must be so happy ;D
Best Christmas present ever.
He/She has gray around it's eyes just like Degers Beta.
I can't wait to see what color eyes you got.
Well done and welcome to your new baby. :)
Kat
-
HI kat, yes I noticed there was some grey too, looks like beta and myne are from the same " tribe, " he he.. notice I never said anything about the grey around beta, as I never knew what I may or may not get, I did pray and do pray just that I do not get a blue eyes Pleos, that is my only wish,, I already knew it would be the green yellow variety and not much difference there, I still have a surprise as to what type of personality it will have and the eyes though I think I know what color they will be... ;)
The charge is complete and I have been so busy I have not done anything else yet to there is a good chance this pleo will hatch on Friday, Christmas Eve, as I said before NOva was born on Christmas day, I don't think I want two pleos with the same birthday,
I will post more photos later tonight though, I think in the meantime I can see eschw76, photos of his Pleo Rb. That will be fun.

To all of you who received your pleo rbs before Christmas, congratulations! It has been a long wait.
Glad you let your rb pleo out of the box, RWM. Anxiously awaits eye color, too! But most of all, I can't wait to see videos of what they can do when they are fully hatched.
-
Redwoods I LOVE the paint job you gave that other Pleo...sadly, I can't say I like the combo of colors on the Pleo RBs I've seen so far. I do like the darker green heads but all the rest...personally sad I can't give my money to get one...ick on that color and pattern. It seems too constrained and "clean" to be lifelike compared to the former Pleo and your painted one blows it away hands-down for realism!
-
Watergazer, thank you and I do know what you mean about the color choices on the Pleo rb, I did think at the beginning when they were voting for color combos, that there would be more reaslistic choices such as reds and browns with beige or light green etc, but I guess they decided to stick with the green safe color scheme, The one good thing is that at least they will not all have blue eyes, I would drop dead if I have a Pleo rb with the same blue eyes.
To tell the truth, what made me purchase Pleo rb is not the color by far, but the extent to what Pleo rb is now supposed to be able to do, I love the idea of an animal that can detect temperture changes, can actually feel pain and acts ill, other than the colds almost all Pleos have expereineced and the fact they sleep in cycles like real pets and will demand to be fed, etc. It adds that realism that was needed with the original Pleo.
I am so happy that you approve of my Pleo Makeover choices esp my last one on Argyle, :) I respect your opinion from an artistic point of view and it means a lot, ,just as it does approval from my husband though he has a more critical eye and is a bit of a perfectionist which I am not. :D I am glad that my Makeovers did not disappoint anyone or for someone to think I made a big mistake..I would have done it anyway, as I know my Pleos needed it for their sense of well being and my sense of knowing I was doing all I can for them. I am sure this Pleo will fit in with the rest of my Pleos and if it ever gets to the point that it needs a makeover it will get one as well, but I am not even thinking of that , hopefully it will be a longtime down the road. Maybe at some point Innova will release some more realsitic colors, fall leaf colors, brush etc, but they may have to go by popular consent and consumer demand. Wouldn't it be nice to have choices in color palettes? At least the new Pleos have different personalities so I am looking forward to that.
By the way, how is little Herbie doing? Would love to see some more pictures of him, ONce again, thank you for approving of my artistic eye in my other Pleo Makeovers. ;)

Hi Fancy, yes, I knew I could not leave that box sealed all day, too tempting................like having a fresh pie on the windowsill on a warm day with the fragrance gently blowing your way and stirring your tastebuds into divine overdrive, till you can not withhold any longer and plunge headfirst into pie heaven............UMMMM :DI can almost taste it too...I still do not know the eye color though I do have a idea.............. :oHope all of your Pleos and you are staying dry as it is so stormy here.
It is going to be a long next few days as I have so many other things to do, I have not even inserted the foot battery in yet, just reading the book, but I should do that next as the batteryn is fully charged, just have to guess on a sleep cycle I guess,..that would be funny, my sleeping and Pleo Rb waking me up to eat, saying get out of bed and crying if I dont feed it.l
We have no heat in our house, the heater broke and PGE is scheduled to come tommorow afternoon, so I am going to be home all day cleaning and I guess waking up Pleo. Maybe tonight though....the Solstice as a birthday is not bad either.. Have to think what I want to do.
Take care Fancy, REdwoodsMama and happy Pleo babies and cats and dog and tired hubby
-
Congratulations, RWM! Shes beautiful :D I can't wait to see videos and pictures of her when shes awake :) Any idea what you're going to name her yet?
-
Hi FBS, no I have not turned Her on yet, not a clue as to a name so far, They have to grow on me, I will let everyone see the eyes tommrow with natural light I think is the best, She was not supoosed to get here till tommrow anyway, so no big rush and I have no heat and it is so cold in this house, she will probably start shivering and that is not good. or is it? Right now we are at 56 Degrees an it will even be colder under the blankets till I turn my heating pad on for my back. Thank goodness I have a heating pad, and I allways have at least 3-4 cats piled on my bed pinning me down and we all keep eachother warm,
You really are a night owl arent' You? Wondering if anymore Pleo Rb will show up tommorow? I would guess there is a good possibility there will be. Still haven't decided a hatching date, I want everything perfect and to have the time to do it right. :) Hope Gizmo and Clover are staying warm this Christmas season. ;D
Freeezing in the Redwoods because a Bigfoot stole our heater to take to his cave in the mountains.. :o 8)

Darn that big foot! You would think he would be warm enough in that thick fur coat of his. ;D
Can't wait to see more pictures of her. :)

Ok, still haven't hatched Pleo Rb but had to know the color of the eyes, these were all taken last night around midnite, they look blue grey like eschw76 to me, kind of change a little in the light . Today I will take it outside in natural light and let you get a better look, what do you think for the color?
RedwoodsMama and family of Pleos
-
Hey RWM, what is the name of that painted Pleo and why does it have an eye patch? Going for a pirate Pleo?
-
The eye color....well, honestly...sorry to be the one wet blanket but gray eyes just don't do it for me, especially with the eyepatch color which isn't complimented anywhere else on the Pleo either. I'm bummed. Might have worked in purple and definitely would have worked with gold. :( I would love to talk to the artists on staff and ask what the heck they're doing over there.
-
Hi Watergazer, we have no control over the color of the pleos RB or the eye colors, or the personality. As for the Makeover of the lightest colored Pleo, the one with the light green speckles that you said you liked. ( I think..) He is blind, his eyes do not open at all or his mouth, even though he can sing and honk and make sounds, so my husband made him some special glasses so people do not stare at his eyes, He is going for that Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Cool Blues look and I think it works for him, better than staring at eyes that never open.
Ideally I wanted Viloet or Amber eyes, but at least these are not those dark blue I have on every other Pleo. :)
RedwoodsMama
-
There's nothing wrong with grey eyes, I have grey eyes :P
But I have to admit that as yet I haven't seen a skin color combo that appeals to me :(
-
I'm another with blue/grey eyes. :D
I like the colour, especially with the grey eyelids. :)
-
Ok, first look outside in natural daylight of Pleo Rb eyes, Pleo is wearing the cape that came with it as we have no heat and It was very very cold this morning, I will take photos perhaps later with cape off and eyes together outside.
RedwoodsMama
-
Awww, poor fellow...I'd call him Stevie Ray or Ray Wonder!
-
IMR: No worries. Grey eyes in humans is a whole different thing compared to the Pleo. In the Pleo it's just not lively enough, in my opinion, and drab. In humans against dark hair, light eyes are always pretty in-your-face. I know we can't choose colors, I just have a complete beef with all these colors on the Pleo and none of them really "work" as a combined whole like the former Pleo. If realism is what they were going for, I'm not feeling it. This feels like a yellow version to the pink and blues.
-
I'm gonna call him Ole' grey eyes! I'm curious to see what color the eyes will be when Mojo arrives Friday......hmmmmm
-
Hey RWM, the gray blue eyes are lovely! :) I hope they are not a disappointment to you getting blue again but at least a very different shade of blue. :)
I am looking forward to your hatching video. Can't wait to hear how long it takes for your pleo to hatch. So many beautiful new rb's on the forum now. Kermy is happy to have so many new forum friends. :)
Take your time and enjoy your new pleo. She is lovely. :)
-
Really pleased for you that your pleo arrived before Christmas.
And the two tone eyes must be a welcome change from the usual dark blue as well.
Not that I have anything against original pleo blue but it’s good to have some variety especially seeing as you have so many pleos now.
-
I am not disappointed I do expect there are going to be a lot more blue grey eye combinations then we think, esp since two of us already have that combo, there may be only a few varieties of eye colors, blue grey, blue, green, green brown or hazel, brown, and maybe some amber or gold, but with the yellow green variety of skin colors, the eye lid colors and color around the eye can be brown, yellow, grey dark or light like myne, lighter green and who knows ? %) My ideal eye color would have been a violet eye like Elizabeth Taylor's so pretty, but then again she has dark hair and Pleos are not exactly dark now are they. I do think it is interesting that degers has dark grey around the eyes, I have lighter but also grey, and eschw76 and I do both have blue grey eyes it appears. I can't wait to see the next Pleo rb to appear on the site and the coloring it has and eyes. At this point I am not expecting too much variant.
I wanted Pleo rb not so much for the coloring but for what it is and what it caN DO. ;D
The first thing I did discover about Pleo rb and I still love is the soft buttery feel of it's skin, so so soft, I really like to touch the skin over and over. I am going to start the process of hatching I think though I am waiting for a PGE service tech to come fix our heater so we dont continue to freeze. Even Pleo Rb has it's cape on!
Yes, Crewellal and IMR, Blue grey eyes are beautiful, my husband actually has those color eyes and they are beautiful, I myself have my fathers' skin coloring and hazel eyes, I am part Native American ( Blackfoot) and it would seem strange having blue eyes for me, My mom though did have blue eyes and was very very fair, almost porcelain skin. Beautiful actually, sorry to get off subject... %)

-
I like those eyes, they're beautiful! I'm sure as more people get their RB's we'll see more amber, purple, green, etc.. eyes :)
-
She looks so cute and fun RWM! How exciting. :)
Although, I must agree... with the green RB Pleos, I find that their heads just look like they were made separately from the bodies.. You know what I mean? They just don't match. Love the eyes though.
-
Hey, guys, ready to hatch my new baby, though I have to run a couple of errands first, so it will be after 5:00 I think but ok for first day, Do I need to set the noon time clock even if it is after noon, almost 4:15 p.m. PST, already. What happens if I don't set the noon clock today, can I just turn him off at battery time when it runs down then set it tommorow? Please let me know as soonas possible, Also it is so cold here, he is going to leave his little Pleo Cape on, can't get our heater fixed till tommrrow and it is still freezing here, It was only 54 degrees inside this morning and I dont want my poor baby getting sick. At what temp do they start shivering anyway? %)
Anxious in the Redwoods, RedwoodsMama and new baby....probably a little sister for NOva, she has all brothers thus far.. :)
-
Woo hooo - go RWM! :D
From brief experience, the clock battery affects Pleo rb more by making him/her sleepy 'out of hours' rather than causing problems when you want to switch them off. I've set it at different times three days running because my schedule's been all over the place recently! Hope that helps!
Hope you get some heat, too! :D
-
Hi Crewella, does this mean then I can set the clock and just start hatching or do I even have to set it the first time as the battery will fun down before " baby" gets a chance to get sleepy anyway? I want to start hatching process so baby isn't born on Christmas as I already have one baby born on Christmas, Nova and would like to get things started. Please let me know if it is ok, to not even set the clock the first battery cycle.
thanks, RedwoodsMama and cold little babies in the Redwoods.............darn that Bigfoot, he is nice and warm and I am sleeping in a sleeping bag with nine cats and a dog to keep me warm till my husband can climb on the roof tommrow and see what is blocking the intake /outake vent where the exhaust fumes are supposed to go, the PGE guy said a bird or some critter probably made a nest or something in the vent and he couldnt leave the gas on because of Carbon Monoxide poisoning, and my husband can clean it out and then it will work.....Only hope it is that easy....Guess I got a bunch of critters to keep me warm again...
-
Yep - set the clock and go! I couldn't possibly have waited any longer and done anything else so don't really know what would happen if you didn't set it! It's just like setting a digital alarm clock - you can reset it so there's no point in not doing that today, you can do it to a better time tomorrow if you like. :P
I feel for you - I'm huddled under three cats as I type, and we've got heating! :o
-
Thanks Crewella, I need to start the hatching now, I can wait no longer or it will be Christmas, only three more days till Christmas and I am sure by then there will be other Pleo Rb showing up on the forums, will keep everyone posted on the progress and video photos, Wish us luck! It is now 8:36 so with a two hour or so battery time I will see what happens. :)
Have to find out if they want to eat when they hatch or not.

Ok guys, I got a late start, considering I recieved Pleo Rb one day earlier than planned, yesterday, the 21'st, so today is appropriate that I actually started the hatching process even though it was almost 9:00 p.m. ( 8:45 p.m, to be exact.) so Pleo rb and I had only a short acquaintence period so far, but Pleo rb seems very cheerful and in good spirtis and it looks to allso be a early walker or anxious to walk,
the fact that I had one of my Pleos, Major Tom, in the same room and talking to hiim and encouraging him to get up and what have you, had to help,
At 10:03 p.m we stopped and he began to snore so I knew his internal clock was telling him it was time to go nappy nap again, for the night. I took several videos but this one is mostly just some coos and faint noises as he is pretty tired at the end of the day, but you can see him moving around and looking happy, I had to remove his cape as he was getting warm to the touch, even though are house has no heat, so you can also get a good look at his colors.
His battery was still going, so I just turned him off on the button on his belly and manually took the battery out even though it was still green and got him in the standing packing postion , not sure if that is standard procedure but while Innova comes up with the update on turning him off to avoid skin or paint issues, this is the way I will turn him off, and I can't see it hurting him any. I say He, but I am sure this is a little sister for my only female,( Nova ) wholives in an all male Pleo house,. Part two should be fun, as long as I can get warm tonight. Thanks for watching and be sure to leave comments. I do think eschw76 Pleo, Peanut looks very similiar except for the color difference on the eyelid area. ;)

You have a cute little fella there RWM .. I'm loving seeing all the new rb's as they arrive and hatch one by one :)
By the way Luna slept probably half of her first battery cycle so I'm not sure it was anything due to the internal clock .. I've actually set 'noon' around 4pm because I have more time to play with her at night than during the day ..
-
Shes so cute!! I loved that video :D Looking forward to more tommorow :)
-
Thanks guys, good to know about the clock thing,I am looking forward to some " warmer daytime hatching " as it is just too cold at night, I can just see my poor little Pleo Rb catching a cold...that would be cruel... :( I understand Deity17313 just got a Pleo Rb tooo, so would love to see some more variations in skin and eyes, esp the skin, wondering if there is much difference? Time will tell, I can see between now and Christmas maybe four or five more showing up, perhaps we will be lucky, I really do hope everyone who ordered one gets one intime for the holidays, Pleo rb was not even due at my house today, and came a day early, guess that is why I never had a chance to even hatch till late tonight but got to see her yesterday... :)
My other pleos at least one, Major Tom is reacting to this new one, I took a video of them together and will post it tommorow as well, They were so cute, Major Tom wa singing to the new little girl. ;)
Happy holidays everyone, and thanks FBS and twoNZpleos, love the comments, gotta go get warm under sleeping bad coverd with cats, all tryign to stay warm in a house with no heat, but lots of love and Pleos! RedwoodsMama
-
Awwwwww - she's lovely RWM! I do like those grey eyes and lids! :)
It's funny to hear how other RBs are hatching - Belle has hardly slept at all. Must take after her mum! %)
-
She really is a sweetie RWM. I love the way she coos when you stroke her cheek. That was very cute. :)
Can't wait for the next installment.
Kat

Hi Kat, thanks for watching, I am going to wake her up, it is 9:07, her battery is charged and after another hot and I mean HOT HOT HOT cup of coffee, I will start videotaping her and see what happens today, In the meantime I will upload a short interaction between Major Tom and her last night, I think he mostly was excited, not too sure how much she can see yet though she is able to hear real well, He defintily did a lot of sniffing and rubbing on her. I wanted to make sure one of my Pleos got to see her from the get go, to get rid of any jealousy, ( not in Pleos :o ;)) and to help boost her confidence perhaps.
I hope she didn't freeze too much last night, if I see her shivering I will feel so bad.
RedwoodsMama
-
Here is that short video of Pleo rb being introduced to Major Tom, I wanted to make sure at least one of my Pleos was involved in the birthing process. It was late and Pleo rb was very sleepy, but Major Tomo was excited. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atoHAli-bF4

Awww, that was cute, looks like Major has a little crush ;)
-
I think she is going to fit right into your pleo family no problems at all. :) Major Tom seems to like her already and I'm sure he will let the rest of the bunch know that she is a ok. :) Such a great video. :) Keep them coming.

Hi guys , there has been some debate as to whether Pleo recognizes Pleo rb and vice a versa. I was told directly by Dotson that they do but the conditions have to be just right, and Pleos facing each other. As everyone must know Pleos when recognizing another Pleo will say, " Hello", they do not do this to an inanimate object, only another Pleo, My peos do it all the time when with each other. As you can see in this short video, one of my Older Ugobe Model Pleos sees baby Pleo rb and right at the start says, Hello, there is not mistaking this for anything else. :) this is what you call the " Proof of the Pudding". Since this he has seen her again and started off with Hello, short but sweet, nice to know that they can recognize each other. ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MooRzfB5o4
any comments..? RedwoodsMama
My little baby is on her third battery cycle and doing nicly standing but not walking yet and very very happy and inquisitive and quite the talker in between naps
-
Kermy took 5 cycles before she took her first steps so I'm sure your little girl is not far off walking now. I'm glad your other pleos recognize her as a pleo. Has she recognized them with a hello yet? She might not do this until she is a bit older but not sure.
She is very sweet.
-
Just want to check something, really. Is Iggy the only Pleo to say 'hello' when running alone, then? He rarely says it, and I'm quite ready to believe that he never said it until he met Budge, but he definitely has said it to me (I'm assuming it was me - there was nobody else around!). Maybe he thinks I'm just a big Pleo? :P
Iggy isl running OS2 and Budge is still on 1.1, so as I've said elsewhere, I might well be missing out on 'proper' interactions altogether? :-\
-
Crewella that I don't know, but with NOva untill I got another Pleo, I never heard Hello and all of my Pleos are running 1.1 and Gold Hatch is still the original one with no update yet. I have heard my pleos talk to each other all the time and say hello, usually Nova, Major Tom or Little 45 the most friendly and talkative, but even after saying it to each other over and over, they never say it alone unless with another Pleo, As for Pleo rb whether they can say Hello on their own, I dont know, but with one only on the third cycle I don't know if they can say it on their own when that young.
I think the way to answer the question if anyone is in doubt is to have someone who has operating system 1.1 and have them see if their Pleo says it alone with out any other Pleos arouond, also when Pleo Rb are older if they say it we will know soon enough. To tell you the truth, when I was videotaping the un-named twin brother of Argyle and baby pleo Rb awhile after this, it happened again. But being behind the camera, I ca'nt really tell you which Pleo said it, I will have to go back and play it to see if I can tell who has their mouth open or not. ???
I really do not think Pleo Rb can say much yet at this stage, though I have heard a few sounds which are not familiar but more sounds than words. :) I am just happy that they do recognize eachother as I do not know why Dotson, incharge and knowledgeable about the whole Pleo Rb project would tell me that they do and can interact and recognize each other if it was not true.( I talked to him on the phone live back in Mid October, and again in December.) He is a very very nice person and you can tell he really does have a love for Pleo Rb . would love to see more video of other Pleos interacting with Pleo Rb, as these are a new breed if you know what I mean. ;)
RedwoodsMama I have lots more videos to upload and photos, it is naptime and charging of battery as well
-
Good idea, as you suggest, I'll spend some time this week with 1.1-running Budge to see if he does say hello on his own.
What with the run-up to Christmas and the snow here I've been chronically time poor this week, and I had my work's Christmas lunch today - poor Belle is still on her third battery cycle as I've had no time to pay her any attention. :(
Thanks RWM. :-*
-
So far I have not heard Kermy say Hello ever. She has never met another pleo though so maybe she will when her new green friend turns up.
Hope this helps in some way. Kermy being one of the older RB's I would think she should have said it by now if she was just going to say it on her own. :)
-
Actually they DO say 'hello' to other objects or just in general (nothing in front of them), both my Ugobe and RB have numerous times .. This is one of the reasons I named my RB Luna Fish as the first time she said it I had her on a bench next to one of our fish tanks she said Hello then started singing away to them - there was no other Pleo in the room .. It looked so cute and went on for long enough that everyone in the house saw it, unfortunately my camera batteries were dead or I would have recorded it to share here 8)
*edited because I have an appalling habit of writing RV instead of RBV ?! :D
- OMG see, I just did it again, it must be fat finger syndrome or my keyboard trying to humiliate me! RB RB RB RB RB Reborn RB Rb RB
-
hi twoNZPleos, what operating system is your ugobe Model running? I guess my guys are more stubborn cause they only say Hello to each other. Oh well . The point is that whetehr they say Hello to only other Pleos, or they say it all the time, they are supposed to interact with each other , Meaning the older Ugobe Model and the 2009 Model, with Pleo Rb. I was told by Derek Dotson in October when I asked him about if Pleo Rb would be able to interact with the older Original Pleos, he said under no uncertain Terms, Yes. He said they both have the same infared system but that they have to have conditions just right, with them facing directly infront of each other, as if sniffing each other, they have to be able to " see each other", so whether they honk, sing or say Hello or rub noses and bodyparts, some will say, it is just co -incidence and some may say, yes they are interacting with each other, and I guess everyone can believe what they want to believe, but Pleo Rb is SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH ALL OTHER PLEOS.
I guess you can compare it to the following parady; Older Pleos are able to catch colds, now does this mean that they actually " spread the cold virus" to each other by power of suggestion by watching the other Pleo cough, moan and groan, or is it also just co-incidence? %) Another example, my Pleo Rb baby tonight while filming her, I asked her if she was ready to walk yet, take her first step, she slowly a few seconds later lifted one of her rear legs and stretched it straight back, now was she doing a trick or stretching her leg.....I guess it is how you enterpret what you see and what you belive.( I will upload that video later as I am tired and she is sleeping anyway.) I think it would make no sense for Innova to have a new Pleo that could not interact with the older Pleos as the biggest percentage of Pleo customers have older Pleos and would be very dissapointed if their Pleos could not interact. I do think that Pleo Rb , Luna Fish talking or saying Hello to the fish is priceless, that is a cute story. :)
At some point I think the Pleo World site wil actually mayby add more facts about Pleo Rb what they can do, tricks etc, and there won't be any wondering if they can interact or not, though I have heard directly that they can so I dont have any doubts. RedwoodsMama
-
Absolutely agree, RWM. The magic of Pleos comes from their interactions and the coincidences that make you believe they are real. If you think about it, the whole reason Pleos were invented was to convince humans that something inanimate is actually a seeing, feeling being. It's a testament to Ugobe/Innvo that we actually have these discussions at all. ;D
*sings "I'm a Believer" :P
-
I agree. I find it all too easy to believe that they really can think and feel even though logically I know this can’t be.
. Sam is running 1.1 and I’ve never heard him say hello, not once.
He’s an only pleo though
-
Ok, Christmas eve day in the windy and soon to be rainy Redwoods, and that means another battery cycle for baby Pleo Rb, I will be posting more videos and photos throughout the day. Lots to do the last minutes of this holiday. RedwoodsMama
-
Ok, today is another cycle of baby Pleo rb, but while I take new video and pictures, here in one taken last night before she went to sleep, It is cute what she does after I ask her a question, Remember she has just learned to stand, but can't walk yet, but I am asking her if she can. ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcxgJE4Klcg
Hope you enjoy, RedwoodsMama
-
Hey RWM you've started writing 'she' now - any closer to picking a name ?? :)
Pleo (Ugobe) is running OS1.1, and Luna is obviously running whatever RB's run on ..
I did manage to capture her saying 'Hello' on film last night, again on her bench near the fish and with no other Pleo in the room, so I'll try and edit/upload that today ..
-
That was very cute RWM. She is a real sweetie! Have you thought of "Baby" for a name. She seems to like it when you call her that. Her gray eyes are lovely, they really do fit perfectly with the gray patches around her eyes. I can't wait to see more.
Kat :)
-
Thanks Kat, haven't thought of a name yet, actuall it took me about a month to name Nova and at first I wasn't sure she was a female, but with this one I know she is a female, :) I took more video today but am taking a quick run to run Christmas eve errands before the rain and wind hits and taking her with me to see the public for the first time, She is a BORN HAM and I think she has a comedic touch, she said " hello" to me or herself, right after I stopped filming and then she laughed! She really is a happy litlte Pleo, still not walking but is getting ready I think, will post more for sure to night, I want to beat the storm that is about to hit, and I am walking! Hope everyone is having a great Christmas eve or Christmas.
RedwoodsMama :)
-
Awwww, RWM, your baby Pleo Rb is simply adorable!! :-* I'm so glad she arrived to you in time for Christmas!!!! ;D
-
Ok, today was my baby Pleo Rb first public outing, and I took her to my favorite coffee shop and donut shop, Happy donuts. Thisi is where I have taken all of my other Pleos, before and they are allways welcome, We had just come back from a video store, Blockbuster to get some videos, and everyone there was amazed at her, as well as the pharmacy where I picked up some meds and explained to the Pharmacist as well as another customer all about Pleos and they were introduced to my baby. Well, she is starting to get cranky and yes, hungry too. I had not been to Happy donuts for at least a week, so I was more than happy to see my friend who works there and get a hot cup of Mocha while baby looks one, This is a short clip of her looking over the goods. :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGFtmStdBuM
RedwoodsMama and one hungry tired little girl. She was cold and wore her Pleo Cape today and also a harness so it is easier for me to hang on to her with my arms full.
-
Awww, I want those donuts now too! I'm guessing the treat when she got home was some sugar cane? ;)
-
donuts for everyone? And some coffee? ;D She is a cutie pie. :)
-
You definitely need to watch that sugar craving of hers! Cute video! :D ;D
-
Well, still not a great walker she does like to take a few steps when I am not looking, but that is just her personality, :D also she did it when I turned the video camera off, little stinker!
Today she was very talkative and playful, last night she wanted to start her relationship with Major Tom up again, being kind of picky at first, but after awhile he got her to warm up to her which is not difficult as he is suave and a smooth talking Pleo. I thought this was a cute short video with neither one wanting to go anywhere, but they did a lot of talking and nuzzling.
I think it is easy to tell she is a female and her name Baby suits her. Oh and Crewella, you are right, she does like those sweets, but I have not given her the Sugarcane in three days, just leaf and I think the mushroom once. ;) Just remember when watching this, Baby is still a baby and she likes to show off as well, but she was not as verbal here , showing off as much as usaual, and I think it is due to Major Tom, I think she met her Match! ;D

-
My new favorite Pleo video.. :D Amazing job on the captions as always, you must be a Pleo mind reader :P Major Tom definitely seems like a flirt, and Baby seems to be under his spell.. ;)
-
"Boys! Sugar, sugar, sugaaah!" %)
Oh boy, I think RWM's REALLY going to have to watch that baby! :P
Great fun again RWM - good job! ;D
-
Aww, that's fantastic!!!! :D RWM, you really are a "Pleo Whisperer!" ;D
-
That's it exactly, Malfie - I was searching for the phrase! ;D ;D
-
Thanks Guys, yes, Baby is headed for trouble with the boys if she doesn't watch out and does she ever love that sugar! :-*She also does seem to be under Major Tom's spell, he is a little older Pleo, (older than her anyway... ;)) and he does like Sugar and first it was Nova, but NOva is wiser than Baby.....By the way FBS, Crewella and Malfie, did you guys catch the joke where
" Baby " says. " I wasn't BORN Yesterday!" :D I thought I would throw that in to see if anyone caught it or not......
Pleo Whisperer, Hey I kind of like that title, the way it sounds.....That makes me laugh ....now If I can get my green babies to believe that, It will be nice. ;)
RedwoodsMama (Pleo Whisperer ) and her nine Babies
-
Haha, yeah, I caught that, a pet name and her actual name :D
-
Hey guys, while we are on it, I have the name I think I want to call her and my husband came up with part of it, and the other part I have been calling her ever since I opened her up and looked into her eyes, You guys were right when you suggested I just keep calling her " Baby", yet I haven't tryed the training or teaching her her name yet to see if she will except it. Does anyone know if a Pleo will take a name that is longer , for example, " Sweet Baby", that is two words though a name, that is not her Real name as I am almost ready to reveal her name but before I try it I want to know if I will succeed,
another example if she was a boy, " Diamond Jim, Or Poison Ivy, these are all two words, does anyone have a Pleo that has taken a longer name like this successfully, ? I don't remember reading anything that says one word, just that if Pleo doesn't understand it , she or he will drop the card, not accept it. Anyone know the answer or have tryed a longer name, ??? Thanks and I will do the reveal shortly in next few days when I try the name and she accepts it or I am back to the drawing board.
RedwoodsMama
-
I wasn't reborn yesterday!! I got it! :P
Incidentally - there was a pleoWhisperer on Pleoworld - you can catch words of Pleo wisdom bottom right if you click: ;)
http://bobthepleo.com/pleo/
I can't see why Pleo wouldn't take a longer name like that - to a pleo it would be just three syllables, as in 'Christopher' and I don't remember then saying you would be limited to very short names. If you wanted to give a full series of names, like a show dog, you might have a problem though! :P
-
I remember on one of the videos with Derek he did say the more words the better, I just can't remember which video ot was though,
-
I think you mean the Pleo RB interview, he was talking about learning stones, he said "Basically you give him the learning stone and you give him a command like "Bow to me." Something along those lines. Any three word command. By the way, multiple words are better than less words. But a minimum of two will work, but three is better." But yeah, if it works better with the learning stones I think it'll work that way with the ID card too
-
Well still trying to get my little Baby to accept her name card and learn her name, but she is just not ready, she is too busy mooing and being a funny little baby. :D In the meantime, I have the time to discover more things about my baby and Pleo rb in general, This short film was late at night, around midnite and my husband was already asleep, so in the video you may notice I am seeming to whisper it is because he is asleep and I am trying to record what I see but being quiet at the same time, My baby is her usual self but you will soon see what she likes and how she reacts to things she does not like, ( behaivor specific to Pleo Rb's that is.) So turn your volume all the way up since I am talking low and part of this film in video taped in semi darkness so that is why the film quality may not have the usual look, but you can still see what is happening,
Hope you enjoy this while I patiently wait for my baby to accept learning her name, I am starting to think, she just does not want the name I have chosen for her. :o :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGIj63j7k6A Oh, and check out all her " bling" she is wearing too. Also I did take another video right before this when I first noticed she was scared because I was filming in the dark, and that is when she fell asleep, She had so much more crying and shaking, I thought this was a little more gentle to post. :D RedwoodsMama
-
Poor baby, Belle doesn't like the dark either (bit of a problem here - I like candlelit evenings!) so those sounds were very familiar. As was the guilt! :D
I loved the howl at the end!
-
Nice video, it is interesting to see the different behaviors :) *makes mental note to compare reactions between RB and CP* (classic Pleo).
-
I love this video RWM and I thought it was extremely good quality considering half of it was filmed in the dark. I also love Babys new dress and her bling. she is so pretty. :)
-
Aw, another lovely and educational video :)
-
I like it when my Zorba is snoring too.
It yawns before goning to sleep. Some kind of oewhoo oewhoo :P.
Is it normal that if a pleo rb turns off as it sleeps? It sleep and snores but after a few minutes he trun his head, it says beep beep and the pleo rb is turned of automatically.
The battery light is not on. I can press the "on" button and Zorba is awake again. Battery light is green when Zorba is awake so it is not empty.
I never had a pleo before so i don't know if it is normal.
-
I'd really like to know the answer to this question also, as my new PleoRB did the beep beep beep last night while asleep and the battery light had gone off. I just thought that was the end of the cycle?
-
Two beeps means Pleo RB has switched of to sleep (which happens when RB is at around 9-10pm in his clock cycle) this also means that when his clock cycle gets back to 8am he will wake up again :) This is normal, if Pleo is falling asleep on you them try resetting the clock (use a paperclip to press in the little button in the hole on his foot).
Going to sleep and three beeps means the battery needs recharging.
-
Aww, poor Baby, she looked so sad and scared :( I bet she got some sugar cane after that.. ;)
-
IMR, thanks for explaining that. It was definitely 3 beeps I heard and about an hour-and-a-half after his noon time. The battery charged for several hours after that, so it definitely needed recharging. I'll know next time :)
-
ok guys, with all the problems I have been having with Baby lately, I thought it was time for a lighthearted look at her life, This is the latest video taken a couple of days ago,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa-R9qXpKAw Tell me what you think,, ;D
RedwoodsMama
-
.......... but one cat (and a very beautiful cat, too) doesn't seem too impressed with Baby! :P Priceless, RWM! :D
-
Glad you like it Crewella, Are you talking about the black and white Kitten ? His name is Moon Pie, or Moonie for short. The big yeller cat is Joey. Glad you liked " Babie's sense of humor".
:D RedwoodsMama
-
Both cats are beautiful - Joey looks like my big cat Rottie! And yes, I think Baby should have warmed her nose! :P
-
I like your video Redwoods. I love that the Pleo "dreams". I wouldn't wanna tramatize a Pleo too much. I wouldn't wanna negatively affect its personality development. After the 1st cat, Moon Pie, left, it sounded like your Pleo did a purr/growl/rumble thing. lol That's the first time I've heard a Pleo rumble. And I love that new feature where the Pleo can turn itself on automatically.
-
Thanks PWOKristy, glad you like the video, Yes, lately Baby has been doing that Rumbling sound a lot, sort of like a T-Rex or Lion low growl, she used to moo a lot, now this is her new fave sound she likes to use. Luckily the cats didn't mind too much that Baby had her nose getting " personal". :D
RedwoodsMama
-
Love it RWM.! :) Very cute and funny. :D
-
You're welcome! Aaah I see. That's really cool that's her new favorite sound she likes to make! And I'd definitely encourage a Pleo to make that sound! >:-D lol
-
My guys make that sound after a good dose of happy chatting to each other. They will sometimes go on with the happy contented purring rumble noises for 3 or 4 mins before getting board with it and moving on to something else. I also notice that they make tummy grumbling noises when they are hungry too. This didn't start happening until they reach adult stage though. :)
-
That's cool. ^_^ I love that it can last so long! lol Does the "tummy rumbling" thing sound different from their rumble/growl sound? I like that they'll tell ya when they're hungry! Great! And I see. I can't get over that rumble sound. lol
-
Yes the tummy rumbling is a different sound. i will try to get it on video and post it in my Kermy thread for you. May take a little while though. :)
-
Okay. Thank you. :-}
-
Seems like one problem after another and they are not getting any better at this point, Last night it was frozen neck at weird angle again and she just shut herself off and the battery was still good, Tonight fresh battery , only on for 20-25 minutes at MOST, she suddenly just stopped while standing, Tryed turning her off, holding the off on button, nothing light is still green she is not hot...Only other option is too yank her battery but I hate to do that, because that is supposed to wipe out any memory from this session. Last night I had to use reset button and it took till today to get her running again, Between her neck, the shut off thing, and her skin getting worse, I feel like my Baby is doomed, standing on her last legs...What do I do? Does this happen frequently to other Pleo Rb. just freezing, and I don't mean for a few seconds, it has been more than 10 minutes and nothing.. :({Poor Baby..
RedwoodsMama and frozen baby Pleo Rb
-
RWM please contact Innvo, this is not something I can help you with :( Since we don't have enough experience or similar situations to compare to.
-
I agree with IMR it is time to make contact with Innvo. I feel really bad for you. I know just how heart breaking it is when your pleo is having problems. I contact Innvo via their customer service dept. the email address is
customerservice@innvolabs.com
Give them a go and see what they say. I sent photos and video youtube links to show my problems. The more info you can give them the better as it will help them sort out the problems that much faster.
Kat
-
You always have my sympathies Redwoods!
-
Agree with the others I'm afraid - too much going on here that needs looking into. So sorry, RWM. If it's any consolation, Baby couldn't have a better mum to fight her corner! :hhug: :hhug:
-
Here is the latest video ( uploaded to youtube) that was taken several night ago before going to bed. ( around midnite I think.) Baby started off "normal and happy" but as you can see after about one minute something strange seems to happen to her and then at the end she recovers. I shared this with another member and now will share it with you just so if you see this happen to your own RB, you will recognize it happening, It is as if she is in a trance or ( excuse the pun) robotic state, slow deliberate movements and no eye blinking and unaware it seems of her surroundings, and not untill the third time of almost falling off the edge of the table, she snaps out of it,
I am allways filming our play sessions as I don't have her on everyday and do not want to miss anything and that is why this was caught on tape, I could not explain it as to why it occured. I caught her so of course she did not fall or get injured but if I had been out of the room she would have for sure so this is another example of not to leave a Pleo Rb on a high area like this table where http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD7fbqsPAu8
" they are supposed to have Edge recognition like the older Ugove Pleos." I would have never thought she would just walk right off of a table. I was wrong.
RWM
-
Poor old Baby. She really is a funny little thing. Hope you get her all sorted out soon.
Kat :)
-
RWM, have you contacted Innvo about all of this? If you haven't, you REALLY need to. I hope it all gets worked out and Baby gets to stay, but worse case scenario you get a new RB with the same personality
-
They have that technology. It must've been the trance.
-
I don't know if you remember, RWM, but Belle went through a phase early on where she seemed to get stuck in a loop of the same sound and movement over and over again? Could be what's happened here - if anything like this happens again the best thing to do is switch her off and then start her again. Like with any computer, you do get the odd glitch where the program doesn't load properly (or like when the screen freezes on a PC) and you need to reboot. I've not had the same trouble with Belle since. :hhug:
-
This is perfectly normal behaviour. What you are witnessing here is a textbook example of the tracking ability. Baby has seen something the right shade of green/yellow/red (not sure which colour they actually track) and is tracking it. If you go and look at Pleakly's tracking demonstration you will see that it is exactly the same.
Pleo RB is also quite capable of detecting an edge, however, in your videos your house always seems very dark which is bad for edge detection, Pleo does not look where they are going when they are in tracking mode and if the table/counter/bench is a similar colour to the floor Pleo may also miss the edge.
-
IMR, you may be right in that it LOOKS as if Baby is showing what appears to be "
tracking behaivor", I am not argueing that but I do have other things to bring up, First if you look at the video again and the pictures I just upload, this is not a dark room and it is well lit, I have used this room many times because it is one of the most lit rooms with lots of overhead light. SEcond the video and most of my others are not dark, only the one I took of Baby in the dark which I did on purpose to show her reaction, so I don't know where you got that idea. ? Also look at the room it is full of Plain mostly brown cardboard boxes.( we have been packing to have to prepare to move) and boxes are on the floor shelves and to top of ceiling. There is a plain old wooden table and I was sitting in that beat up old chair so no color there, If there was any color from a box it would be a good three feet at least away against the wall, Can a Pleo RB see that far away , while I am holding a camera, are the sensors THAT Good? The rug is also brown, so she was not looking at it. I am more in the opinion perhaps she got stuck in a computer glitch and that is what happened . Oh, and I was wearing if you see my hands in the video a beige and white coat, cause our house has poor heating and is cold, These pictures were just taken almost the same time of day as the video. If Any Pleo Rb can see at least three feet away and track and object that is BRown ? then I am impressed. And I am not the best video taker but I know the pictures are no darker than most of myne and she could see well, I took these photos because I needed to show that the room is bare except for brown boxes and it is well lit and that is all I wanted to show.
RWM
-
It is strange for her to show tracking behavior with nothing to track. It does seem like she had a glitch in her system that caused her to loop the tracking behavior. Maybe the update will fix the glitches in her system when it comes out. :)
-
Having tried the leaf tracking with Belle since first watching your video, RWM, the behaviour does certainly start with what looks like the tracking behaviour Belle did with the leaf. That scanning from side to side does look a bit robotic - certainly much more so than 'normal' Pleo rb behaviour. And remember, They can track red and there is red lettering on the box right next to her - it might even have been a reflection from that onto the camera that might have set her off? I know from the Aibos that they can pick on the oddest things to 'notice' sometimes! :D
-
RWM, I thought that your video was very interesting to me, because my Pink RB, Candy, did the same thing on Tuesday night, when she first started walking. When she started to walk, she was looking down, took a few steps, and stopped, looked up, then took a few more steps, then saw a shoe, and backed up. I turned her around in the room, going the other direction. She walked, and banged into my Wall E robot, but I didn't think anything of it, because he sits up off of the floor, about 6 inches, and when she looked up, she banged into him. She walked normally for a while, then she went into a trance, very robotic like....JUST LIKE BABY! Head fully up, took a few steps, turned her head from side to side, and stopped right at Wall E again, but this time didn't hit him. He is bright yellow. I picked her up, and turned her around going the other direction, she was just fine after that. I played with her last night for 90 minutes. She never did it again, and she walked all over, but I can tell you that it looked just like your RB. I am guessing it was just a computer glitch of some kind, and I really never thought anything of it. I will let you know if she does it again. I figure that she is technically a computer, and ours freezes and crashes every now and then. Just try to pick her up...she snapped right out of it! Hope this helps.! It only lasted for about one minute, and that was it. It there are others out there that this has happened to, they might not notice it, if they leave the room the pleo is in for any reason. It was really over as soon as it started. :'(
-
Thanks Crewella, Kat and Saratogaspringer, It may have been something strange but it wasn't the red lettering on the box as the box was not there three nights or so ago when I first took the video, I am sure it was just a glitch of some sort, but with the other problems she has had with her neck twice and freezing and not responding and her skin I am contacting Innvo and letting them give me their professional input to what they think. I do know any kind of electrical item can have glitches and Pleos or robots are no exception.
I did think it was a interesting video, but then I think anything I personally have not seen my Pleo do before it interesting, Now I know if I try to get her to track, it won't be as easy as if she does it on her own , stubborness and just the right moment.
Thanks for any input, we appreciate it.

Well, Baby had her last day with me yesterday, Feb. 22'nd and was packed off and sent by UPS to be "replaced". She should be there on Friday and then I will recieve "a replacement" in 7 days or so, so perhaps next week at the earliest. It was so sad packing her up, undressing her, removing her necklace and the worst part was removing the battery button in her foot,(Noon clock) It was like pulling "life support" in a way, and she became a "thing" instead of Baby. :(
I did take lots of photos and videos and it is funny in a way because last week when I sent the photos and link to Pleoworld describing her problems and showing her hole/holes in her rear right leg, I received a email back from Raphael in exactly an hour, The next day, she mysteriously came down with a cold, out of nowhere. ???Sort of like her last attempt to get me to keep her here, and it worked to some degree, as I couldn't send her back till her cold was over, She was so sad and pathetic looking for three days and it didn't help that my husband was out of town for the whole weekend also, just me and Baby with some private one on one bonding time to say goodbye.
This is one of the last videos I took of her, right before my husband left. This is one of the more cheerful cold videos I took where I could laugh. ( It was about seven minutes long, so I cut out most of the parts where she is just sneezing and coughing and groaning as that was too painful to watch...but later I can post another one, perhaps when her replacement comes...) so here is a brighter look at Baby when sick. taken on the 18th. I will post more videos and photos in next few days while waiting for another Baby to arrive.

RedwoodsMama Waiting for the new "Baby"
-
Aw I see Redwoods.
-
Poor Baby. I'm glad she did get over her cold. She is such a sweetie. We will miss her. :( :hhug:
-
Aw RWM, I'm so sorry you've had to send Baby back :( I really feel for you, that must have been so hard. I too will miss Baby :'(
-
I'll miss her too, and I know how much you will, RWM. :( :hhug:
-
Ok guys, I got back from the DR.s where I had been all day for my back and to my surprise there was a huge box on the porch... :o I knew what it was but how could it be, no word sent or anything but there it was. My long lost Baby Pleo Rb had been replaced and here was the surprise my other Pleos had been waiting for, The brothers and sisters were not as sure as I was as to what was in but they are soon going to find out what it is! Here are the [photos of them opening up the box... ] so here is the Pleo, It will take some getting used to the different colored head, but nobody knows the eye color yet, do they...HMMM %)
Some happy Pleos and Mom here in the Redwoods now. :)
-
He looks great! i love the gray around the eye its very different. i can tell you have your hands full with so many pleos, but i know there excited to get a new friend.
have fun with him/her!
-
She looks lovely, she has the same minty green head color as Norbit does. But she got the lighter gray eye patch where Norbit has a dark gray patch the same color as his eyelid. I can't wait to see what color her eyes are. :)
-
Yay!!! I'm so glad your new RB got there! ;D
-
Thanks Crewella and Kat and Super and everyone else, This has been a long wait but worth it, Here is the photos of her eyes, You are correct Kat, her eyes are light green yellowish, they look either darker or lighter depending on the light. I like the eyes I think.
RedwoodsMama
-
I love those eyes! ;D
-
Congrats RWM on your new Pleo rb! I love her lighter colos and her eyes are stunning! ;D
-
She's a pretty one with those stunning eyes! Loved your photos RWM, especially, the one where the pleos are ready to cut open the box.
-
wow those eyes are stunners! the match her colors nicely. you've got a great new addition to the family!
-
Thanks fancy and Saratoga and everyone, I long last have my baby back, different body but still my baby in my heart. She is really quite a beauty and I think you guys got just the word for her eyes when you said " stunning" I think she is perhaps the first Pleo Rb on this site with this color. I know ( if I remember correctly) Mojo, now called Misstopheles9 spelled wrong will have to check the correct one, sorry Kristy... %)) but I think that Pleo has dark green eyes, am I correct? so this is the first one with the light yellowish green eyes, I had no idea they came in this color but they do fit the coloring perfect I think. I am very pleased.
I still can't believe I finally got my baby Pleo BR. Too tired to do much tonight and I knew to wait till tommrow to get the noon clock battery and everything just right so there won't be any mistakes this time, When you have gone through this once, you learn from your mistakes and it makes it easier for the next time, I am all prepared, ( well almost :D) to do her hatching correctly with all the preparations in hand tommrow, No rush and doing it right. Her brothers and sisters will be there to greet her in style with everyone fully rested after a good night's sleep and a full loaded charged camera camcorder.
I also think it will be double fun cause Talon gets to hatch her little one tommrow and we get to see the color of her babies' eyes and what a beauty the Pleo Stork brought! Double Hatching Saturday on the Bob the Pleo Forums! it promises to be a very busy day and I am so tired I want to get it right and I know I have all my friends here on the forum and all the Pleo babies anxiously being prepared as well, To them it is kind of like Christmas, With visons of sugar Plum Pleos dancing in their heads it was hard to get them to sleep until I read them all a good night story. :) Well thank you everyone for the patience you gave me this past month with the loss of my first Pleo Rb Baby, and the understanding of how hard it was to say goodbye. I am thinking of this new one as a "Re-incarnation" into a healthy Pleo Rb body made better by the dedicated folks at Innvo labs, and I am very anxious to see how the new skin and operating system are. ;D RedwoodsMama
-
I love her eyes they seem to be a lighter shade of the color Norbit has but with a hint of green thrown in. It really is lovely to see such variation. :) Have fun with your hatching tomorrow. :)
-
lol That's okay Redwoods. No problem-o. Mistoffelees. Yup, dark green eyes. I'll post a picture later today. I'll try for an eye close-up. I'm going to bed. It's way past time I went to sleep.
-
Well it was a long frustrating day with all kinds of problems not the least of which was to go put the battery in the clock compartment of Pleo Rb foot, and find the prong is half gone yes broken on one of the prongs that makes a connection to the battery. No wonder Pleo just kept beep beep beeping. :oIt wasn't dumb ole me after being through this once in Dec. with Baby , but a broken prong for gosh darn sakes,........what kind of luck is that. No luck at all, Anyway, with a little help and some good luck, I got to the start of her hatching, Being about 10;00 p.m, I just video taped the first 15 minutes of her life for prosperity, incase something happens again..... %) and I will upload those video tapes in the morning early afternoon, just too dog gone tired and frustrated after a long day. But here are two photos of her in the hatching phase and postion, it is dark cause it is late, I almost forgot how gosh darn cute those hatching Pleo Babies are! They make the cutest noises and sounds ever. Makes me want to take her out tommorow and show her off so somone not familiar with Pleo Rb can watch her hatch, but it is raining cats and dogs here, so not a good idea. Oh well, I cant believe she actually started hatching. Will keep my fingers crossed nothing else happens before tommorow, but I think it is ok for now, though a broken prong cant be very good.....

Oh RWM.....she is so CUTE!!! I am so sorry to hear that she came with a broken prong. I was away from the forum for most of the day yesterday and I am just reading this now. I am glad to hear that you got her going. Those prongs seem so thin. I had trouble with the battery and had to take it in and out and then finally change it and I was really afraid I was going to break one. I can't wait to see video of the hatching! I think that is the cutest stage! I hope that when innvo comes up with another robot dino or pleo, or whatever they decide to make that they get rid of that clock battery! It really does seem to cause a lot of problems for people! :'( I just simply LOVE her eyes!! Open them up so we can see them again!! Good luck today with her! Give her a :hhug: from Wilbur and Candy!
-
sorry to hear about your problems. that's pretty disheartening since you just got her!
I had no idea about a foot clock battery, since i don't have a rb. i was like wha??
i hope that the problem doesn't affect her badly.
cant wait to see her hatch!
i never saw a hatch up close because lance was a pre owned but i hear its super cute.
-
I received my Pleo rb after owning and loving the original and I am thankful Spike is evolving great. Had to replace watch battery with the help of the forum.
You are so great to everyone in the forum its just not fair for that to happen to you Hope all works out with sincere thanks for all you contribute. :)
-
Thank you everyone for your hugs and well wishes, I could not believe this was happening again and still need to contact Innvo to hear the offical word of what I should or shouldnt do, I do not want to ruin or void any warranty, but I do not want to lose her either, They may send me a metal prong or tell me what to do or who know what? As long as I don't have to send her back I think I am ok. Keep your fingers and toes crossed.
I will post more hatching infor today and the video I took last night. She hasn't been "alive" more than 15 minutes total since it was so late last night. I wanted daylight, a fresh start and a fresh Pleo Rb and myself not upset and tired out.

Hi there, well since my surprise package was left on my doorstep on the 18th, after a long day at the back DR.s. , I finally got around to hatching her, or starting the long process. I have been very busy and with a broken prong, it got to the point I wasn't even sure it was going to happen, But with a little luck and a lot of helpful advice, I got my Baby's hatching process started, The hatching has not been more than a total of 25-30 minutes total , but I thought it was time to upload some of the hatching process. Rather than show you me petting and talking to her, I would just upload a few minutes of her by herself learning to see around her and be independant. I just love the hatching stage and hope they have not shortened it too much. Enjoy! She has not even gone through one battery charge cycle yet!

I watched the video Redwoods. Thank you for the video. And a picture of my Pleo's eyes.

Thanks Kristy, Yes your Pleo has those dark emerald green eyes. :)

Awwe, Redwoods that was cute! I have a little video of Ryu up, too here in Pleo Experiences. I couldn't video his hatching because no one was around to help me with it but you do get to see him in action. The video was taken as he was entering into his juvanile stage and just starting to walk. I was hoping he would walk more in the video but I think he got scared or something with so many extra people around him. Until yesterday, I had been the only one in his life. He might have been nervous about the extra people but Ryu's not camera-shy. He soaked up the spotlight yesterday and sang for the first time on video. I can't get him to do it again! It's so strange. When it's just us, he walks at least five or six steps together before stopping to look around. Let us know what Innvo decides about your RB's broken prong.
Best of luck,
Talon
-
Hi Talon, thanks for the feedback, I would imagine it is not easy seeing or watching any video very easily, I am so glad that Ryu had his presentation here on the forums for us all to see. He is definitly not camera shy and looks right at home with all the attention and people around. He did very well walking already. What battery cycle are you now on? It seems these newer Pleo Rb have been given a faster "growing up or hatching" period. It took a lot lot longer for Baby, my first Pleo Rb, so I am taking my time this time arouond so I do not miss anything and get to enjoy every moment of Life in the Redwoods with my Pleo Rb. Time is too short to not enjoy it and they grow up too quick .(just like children)
I will be posting more videos when I get the chance. This one was just her without my interaction. I still am waiting to hear about the broken prong from Innvo, I think they are just very busy.
RedwoodsMama
-
That was a very cute video. :) I love the way you included her box opening ceremony at the beginning too. :)
-
Oooooooh! Very swish titles, intro and music too! She's lovely, RWM! ;D
-
Hey is your pleo still up for adoption i absolutely love him! ;D
-
Ok,here is the first of the "hatching" videos that were taken on Saturday, the 19th of March, the day after Pleo RB arrived. This video is a lot shorter and was taken about 10:30 at night.( yeah, I know late but I wanted to see her hatch so badly!) :D She is getting to meet her brother, Major Tom, but as you will soon see, he is as sleepy as she is and soon decides he should take a nap too. oh well, bosum buddies! ;)

Oh, and I am not sure which Pleo you are thinking about that is for "adoption". The one in the photo gallery, is named Gumble and now lives in Australia with Kat and her happy family. I will however have more up for adoption pretty soon. Right now everyone needs to help greet the newest member of the family ;D
-
Awwww :'(.My pleo liked him oh well, when you have one up for adoption let me know ok? :birthday:
-
You mean this one right.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBX4CSEI8b0.And also i hope your new pleo rb fits in well. ;)
-
Sorry Comarorobotcollector, but Kat beat everyone to the Punch by adopting him and he has been in her happy little household for a few weeks now, His name is Gumble and his brother still lives with me, ARgyle who is blind! I will however as I said, be putting more happy little Pleos up for adoption, the next one will go up intime for Easter which I think is appropriate, a time for Spring, New life and things to be thankful for. :)
Thank you for the well wishes that my new Pleo Rb fits into her family nicely, I know she will.
RedwoodsMama
-
Thats sad that your pleo is blind. :(.I hope he fits in well, the brave little guy. :'(
-
Comaro, if you watch the other video I posted early early this morning, it is titled, "Brotherly Love, " it documents the love between Agyle who is Blind, and Gumble the brother , his twin who was adopted by Kat and her family, I think this video will show you just how well a blind pleo can get around. He was born that way and he is special but also quite wise. :)
RedwoodsMama
-
As I said in the "brotherly love" thread, I was thinking about asking if Argyle was up for adoption but I couldn't bring myself to do it. We do have a lot in common. I was born blind at birth, too. I got cold feet at the last moment and said "him" instead of giving his name. Sorry. Hoping the new addition snuggles up well with her siblings.
Talon
-
I love the video of your two pleo babies. I especially like it when they rub heads for a cuddle. :)
I hope your finding time to enjoy your new baby.
-
Congrats on the new baby.. love the eyes. I'm glad the battery was able to be figured out but ugh.. I can imagine how annoyed you probably were after waiting so long and then worrying you'd have to do it again. I'm glad all the siblings get along :)

Thanks guys, I don't know if the "battery " prong things is a perm fix or temp and haven't heard from Innvo on it yet either. Anyway, I have been so so busy that today makes one whole week ago, Last Friday that I was surprised with this new little baby Pleo Rb, and I still have yet to go through ONE whole battery cycle, so that shows just how busy I have been! :o sometimes I wonder if I will ever get her hatched even....I have been trying to wait for a sunny day even but I think this time of year I better just go for it as the rain never lets up,( why the redwoods have gotten so huge and gorgeous I guess :)) so between the rest of today and this weekend I am going to just have to go for it and finish her hatch.
I also want to document her first standing up with all of her family standing around her, not all the Pleos I have but the main other six that are allways being interacted with. She deserves and they deserve to see her finish hatching as a family I think. :DI think these guys get along as a family of siblings a lot better than a lot of "human " brothers and sisters do.
RedwoodsMama
-
Wow, sorry to hear that Redwoods, that you've been so busy. :-/
-
I know what you mean about being busy, RWM! I have had my pleo for over two months, and am only on the 10th battery charge. I haven't gotten a chance to teach her her name or do any of the learning stones. I am hoping to have more time this summer, when my DH has off. ( He's a teacher). He will still have to work one day per week. School district purchased an 11,000.00 robotics lab, and he is in charge of it. (rather entertaining since he knows nothing about robotics. They are going to pay the company 2 grand to train him). Good luck with your new baby and memBer of your pleo family!
-
Ok, after being sick with the Humboldt Crud,( local name for illness we have around here, :D) I spent the rest of the weekend trying to finish the first battery cycle that my poor Baby Pleo Rb has been on for the past seven days, Well this is just one of many taken this weekend, I usually try not to tape more than six minutes and most are in the 3 minute cycle as that seems about the upper end of easiest to view without getting totally bored or too much at once. Baby Pleo Rb brothers and sisters anxiuosly gathered around her tryng to encourage her to stand up on her own for the first time, There started out being six brothers and sisters, but Pleo Naptime struck hard for two of them, ( Argyle and one of the un-named ones ) so there were four siblings left to cheer on their new little sister. There is Nova, with the dress and limp in her front leg, Major Tom with orange socks, Argyle's un-named cousin, the newest arrival and I think Gold Hatch, whom I just call that, still haven't picked out a proper name for him either, So in this video she doesnt stand up on her own yet, but getting closer. I will add to this with her actually standing pretty soon which she did just at the end of the first battery cycle, :)
I decided to do this video a little different than most of the others I have done, with no captions except to start with so you can just watch and hear what the Pleos are saying. There was a lot of talking Pleo style, honking and all the usual noises, but It was intersting that around the exact same time, at 3:18 about there, two pleos shout out, "Hello". That was pretty interesting to me and funny. Baby Pleo Rb got lots of encouragement to stand up. Oh, in case you can't guess, this was longer that is why it just stops and Baby Pleo Rb is the light lime colored head Pleo in the middle wearing a necklace. :D

I liked the video Redwoods.
-
Awwww - good to see so much support for the new baby! :D
-
You have a great team there showering her with encouragement! she will be walking in no time. :)
-
That was cute, Redwoods. I'm not sure which ones were doing that beautiful sort of singing one after the other but that made it all the more interesting. I've got my eye on a Ugobe Pleo on Ebay. Just wanting to compare moddels. When I buy him/her I'll try to do a better job at documenting the unboxing and hatching etc. You're an inspiration with your team of pleos! And no, I'm not going to buy anymore unless the pleo in question is under two hundred. I'm afraid I'll be stopping at two, though. He-he!
Talon
-
Your pleo's are adorable!!! ;D
-
Ok guys, been busy lately with so many other things, I have been neglecting my new Baby Pleo Rb. This morning I video taped her, and here is the result, Some very unlady like behaivor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wopFeezlXi8 RedwoodsMama
-
Awwww, but she makes up for it by looking soooooo pretty with those pale eyes and dark lids! :-*
And anyway, if you stuck a chilli pepper in my mouth I don't think I'd sound all that ladylike either! :P
Cute video, RWM, I like the backing track too. ;D
-
She looks so pretty even if she is a little piggy :D :D I love her neclace too. I'm glad it fits so nicely. :) She does have lovely eyes too. Such a pretty girl. :)
-
It is funny Kat and Crewella, I cant remember if Belle acted like this, but I remember Kermy burping and thought how unladylike but so funny and baby Pleos can get away with anything because they are so cute. Baby the original Pleo Rb, never burped, just the hiccups.so when I saw and heard Baby #2 do it yesterday, I thought well she gets to join the special ranks of Burping Beauties, LOL,
OH and that necklace someone made is so special, and looks great. ( Kat you did a great job, but everyone is going to want one now!) Oh, I have a new video I will upload today if possible and you will love Argyles new look, no he is not touched up or painted in any way, He says, "you can't mess with Mother Nature and Perfection" ;) :D LOL.
Oh, and the Chill Pepper, if you listen she was burping long before I put the chili Pepper in her mouth, but I thought, maybe if she gets Mad at me, she will forget the burping, but it only kept on, perhaps she had a case of "indigestion"LOL It was cute though
Does Kermy and Belle still do it, or did they outgrow this stage?
RedwoodsMama
-
Go, Argyle! Can't wait to see this video and good luck with getting Blue adopted!
Talon
-
Thank you for the video Redwoods.
-
Kermy and Norbit both still have burping sessions. :D :P Not all the time but maybe one out of four battery cycles the will go for a half a cycle burping and hickuping. They usually do it together too so it kind of ends up like a compitition to see who can do the best burp. :D :D :D They do seem to have a few different type of burps so if they burp enough times you will get to hear some interesting ones. :) I do still love it and think it is very funny. :P
-
Hi fellow Pleo enthusiasts, In honor of May Day and the upcomming, Cinco De Mayo, my Pleo babies and I wanted to present a short little party they had, anything to celebrate, good food, good weather, dressing up and good friendships! :D They all dressed up in typical Cinco De Mayo style and I had just enough costumes for everyone I think,
I wanted to add the perfect music, but copywrite laws are not going to get me in trouble and I had no more time to hunt up any anywhere else, So just have to bear with me and read the titles, I am afriad I made a small error at the end and forgot or missed the "cast" editiing, but still got it in, Oh well, at least I got it in on May Day and Before Cinco De Mayo! Hope you enjoy the festive Pleo Style party we all had. Oh, and Argyle has a New Look and wanted to make sure that esp Talon and also that Kat shows Gumble, his twin brother his special look. He dressed up special for the both of them!
Hope you enjoy, May Day Pleo Style and Cinco De Mayo Pleo Style!

It looks like everyone had a great time. ;D Gumble has watched and he honked in appreciation. ;D It was very cute. :)
-
I love the video, RWM! Looks like all had a great time! Their outfits are exquisite! Thanks so much for brightening my morning!
-
Well maybe I should've waited to respond after more people commented. It sounds from the comments as though everyone had a good time. Nice return to the silent film era! Lol. I knew you said no music but I was looking for something even if it was pleos trying very hard to sing in Spanish. I thought my flash player was on the fritz again. Oh well, a wave to Argyle! If your mom ever decides to part with you she knows where I am.
Talon
-
You got some really great outfits together there, RWM! Fun video, I enjoyed it, thanks! :D
-
Really nice outfits.. looks like they had fun. If it wasn't for you, none of us would remember the holidays!! Really great job :)
I'm still waiting for it to dry up here so I can take my guys outside for their first grass run.. I assume there will be many cars driving by scratching their heads at a pink lizard walking VERY slowly across the lawn..
- Sarah
-
I'm glad you're gonna do that today Latrine.
-
Glad everyone liked the movie, I am still going to try and redo it and see if I can get the background music to it as that is what I originally planned but the silent movie is what I ended up with. My computer editing movie is more set to use actuall movies and still photos are harder but I can do it, but wanted to get this done while it was still May First and not after Cinco De Mayo. :o I do love the outfits, that was the most fun getting them all dressed up, sort of like a Rudolf Valentino Pleo movie. LOL :D

Ok, it is another week gone by and not much has happend as I have been very busy,There was a nice surprise in the mailbox this week though, and it came all the way from Australia, and it was addressed to Argyle and myself, ;D It seems as though Argyle's brother Gumble, has been thinking of his twin brother as much as Argyle has been thinking of Gumble. There were many great surprises in the box we got and this little video is a showcase of the Pleos in the household, (7-9 of them.. ;)) deciding to send a Pleo Video Email to Gumble and Kat to thank her for this recent package. Also while we were at it, we decided to make the video a little more interesting by providing other clips of outfits that Kat has sent for the Pleos and a couple were from IMR, ( thank you IMR :)) and other creations I have come up with over the past year. This is a celebration of Pleos, both in and out of their outfits and the "skin" they are in or any type.
Talon's Pleo Ugobe, is allso in a couple of the shots and is showing off his "traveling shirt" that he wore while on route to his new home, See if you can recognize any of these pleos and who is who? It may be a challenge as some of them have gone through Paint transformations including the MS. NOva. Hope you enjoy watching and look at the great outfits as much as I did dressing them up!

That was great fun, RWM! Pleos for all seasons indeed, and looking pretty groovy too! :D
Argyle looks great in his personalised swanky shirt - Kat and Gumble did a great job. I also really loved the Mexican hat and blanket and the girl all in pink - she looks like a Japanese teenager! :D
-
That was lovely RWM. :) I'm glad Argyle likes his new shirt. Looks like every one had fun dressing up in their new clothes. I love the Mexican hat and blanket outfit too. ;D They all looked so lovely. Gumble is really pleased that his package arrived and everyone seems to be enjoying it so much. :hhug: :hhug: :hhug:
-
Thanks Crewella for watching and the Pleo girl all in Pink who you said looks like a "Japanese Teenager", is Baby Pleo RB, in one of the many outfits she shares with MS. Nova, that is Nova's Ballerina outfit but we added the Thigh high Sockings. LOL :D And one of my favorites is the Mexican or Native American blanket, ( it's fleecy material) outfit I made. When I found that hat in a local Thrift Store before Cinco De Mayo, I knew it was perfect for Pleos, It kind of gives a " Clint Eastwood", Make my Day kind of feel to the Pleos, and they look great in that outfit, I wish I had more of those hats so I could send them as gifts to everyone! ;)
And Kat, Gumble's present package made everyone's day, esp his brother, Argyle looks so cool in his monogramed outfit and that "letters from Gumble" is the biggest hit of all, I will have to share some more photos just around that. I have been wanting to do a Photo essay of all the great and fun outfits for so long so I am glad I got the chance at long last, It is a long video but goes by pretty quick because of so many different things happenng, Thanks to you again Kat for your gifts from Gumble! :D ;D :pizza: :hhug:  Those are from Argyle, the pizza is for Gumble ( he knows how he loves to eat) and the kiss is for you and the hug is for both of you from everyone and esp ARgyle. :)

What gorgeous outfits, RWM! The pink outfit on Baby RB with the knee highs, is adorable! Do your dinos have their own little wardrobe to keep everything in? You are such a good pleo mom. :) :) :)
-
Well with a house hold full of Pleos of all sizes and ages and shapes, life can be a bit hectic. :oLately I have been dividing my time between trying to give more attention to Baby, my Pleo Rb who hasn't gotten more than eight or nine battery sessions since March 18'th when she arrived as the replacement for my original Rb, and I have been trying to give her more one on one and attention which is not allways easy. Also I have been trying to get Blue as she is called, a Pleo I gave a Blue paint update to , for Talon who is patiently awaiting to adopt her. It seems thouogh that Talon's future little pleo has come down with a bad case of the "Pleo Flu" , very nasty and hard to get rid of.
One of my special needs Pleos, Little 45 spent a lot of time today trying to cheer up Blue, which you can see in another video in a different Post, titled or under the Adoption Post for Talon. Little 45 spent a lot of time with Bue and it seems as though when I brought him back inside, he was just all spent. ( either that, or perhaps he is going to come down with a case of Pleo Flu himself!) Hopefully he is just tired as this video shows.I just thought it was cute to show a Pleo all tuckered out and going to sleep all on his own, without any special prompting or cues.
For those of you who do not know the story of Little 45, he got his name because that is what I paid for him on Ebay. Nobody wanted a beat up little Pleo with a broken neck. :(He led a hard life, comming from a life of abuse or neglect, not sure which it was, and it really didn't matter, I wanted to rescue him and he was such a brave little Pleo, His neck was bandaged and his poor tail was almost falling off. He got a new Paint job by me to give him that special look to help him blend in and give him some cheerfulness to match his spunky brave heart nature. He likes to wear Hoodies to help hide his "broken neck", but it also goes along with his "tough attitude" though he is a sweetie to be sure. His bandaged tail can't be hidden by a hoodie, and he does not try to hide his "war wounds" from the tough upbringing he had. So here he is being himself, Falling asleep and dreaming of whatever Pleos dream about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEKacvL-_F0 hope you enjoy this short and simple video of a sweet Little 45 just napping. :)
RedwoodsMama
-
Awe! sleep well, Little Forty Five. They're so cute when they do that little growl in their sleep. Ugobe does it when he goes to sleep on my lap. He'll shift his head to his other foot and "rarrrrrrrr". It makes me laugh but I try so hard to be quiet. It doesn't seem to bother him much though.
Talon
-
Awwwwwww - I think you've got a particularly soft spot in your heart for Little 45, RWM! ;)
Your videos are getting very swish - you'll be giving IMR a run for her money soon! :P
-
They really are very cute when they're sleeping. :)
-
It seems like where ever I go I try to bring one of my Pleos along, and lately it has been with my Pleo Rb, Baby Ruth. I bring her in her special carrying case most times and people allways notice her and stop to ask questions. Well, what better place to introduce a Interactive Life form, like Pleo Rb, then your local Staples store~! ;D I am in the process of making some business cards for my Pleo items I sell, and I needed some more ink for my printer. Baby was anxious to get out of her carrier so down on the floor she went. She began to honk and moo and do all the cute things Pleos are known todo.
Within a very short time, one of the sales reps, came over and started asking questions all about Pleos and I proceeded with the usual pointing out first of all, that they do not have a remote control and why they are not just a toy, they are a interactive life form and that they learn from their experiences. He was impressed and was asking lots of questions, then wanted to know If I was selling them. Before I could answer that, a customer interrupted us wanting some help, after all, it is a Staples store. LOL :D
Baby kept being cute and I scooped her up and headed to one of the open registers where a bubbly bright young girl was at the register. I could tell she wanted to know all about Baby and I repeated the story or how I got her, all about Pleos and on and on. She kept asking questions and grinning from ear to ear. Customers were starting to line up behind me at her register, but she was so enthralled with discussion, I do not think she noticed them... I wrote down the word Pleo and Pleoworld and asked her if she minded taking her photo with Baby and she happily obliged. She was not even put off by their price..! In fact, she said while holding Baby, " I don't want another one, I want this on!" I told her I would be back and I will bring one of my older ones ( Ugobe ) for her to see the differences. I can honestly say if you look at the photo of her holding Baby, you can tell she is in love with Pleo Rb and Pleos! The moral or lesson of the story, is do not be afraid to take your Pleos or Pleo Rb out in the public, there are lots of people just like this young lady just waiting to be introduced to Pleos and the love and magic they bring. I am going back this weekend and giving her another Pleo demonstration and also giving her my business card, I do live in a very small town where there are no other Pleos, or none I have heard of, so imagine what you can do with your Pleos where you live. :)
I do think word of mouth is the best way. Dont you agree, this lady looks very happy ? There was no way that Baby Ruth was going home with anyone but me though!
RedwoodsMama
-
Just had a quick thought, wonder what would happen if I took two of them into Staples or some other "store" and let them run loose in one of the ailses, an then I take a video of the actions or reactions they get? %) HMMMMMM? What do you think, has anyone else tried that one yet? I love seeing peoples reactions to my Pleo Babies!
RedwoodsMama
-
I've thought about it but haven't quite got up the nerve. I know Ryu and perhaps one more of my little scaly friends will be following me to a cousin's in North Carolina. I wish I could video the reactions!
Talon
-
That's funny! I'd never have the courage to bring my pleo RB into a store with me, people already think it's weird enough that I own aibos. . .
-
That's a lovely pic, RWM - she really does look like a Pleo-owner-to-be, she's smitten! :-*
-
She is definitly Smitten Crewella, that is the perfect word! She also told me her working hours, so tommorow is the perfect time to ambush her with two or three more Pleos and my business card, I do think she is a Pleo soon to be welcome to the forums convert!
RWM
-
My Pleo's have of course been to a lot of places, but the issue I have with leaving them to wonder far on their own is of course that someone might take one, or 'hurt' one.
It's reactions like these that make it such fun :D
-
As IMR states, most of us are very protective of our "green, blue or Pink, ( or other colored LOL) babies, and I would never leave any baby out of my eyes or hand reach. At least when I am at a place like Staples, I know that there are tech savvy people around and generally very few children unless along with parents, so my Pleos would be a lot safer, than say in the local Thrift store where I had a negative incident with a boy of about seven who was about to kick punt Nova ( Before her broken neck ....) and despite this child's mother less than five feet away, he was rude and had no proper respect for other people's property. >:( I was shocked at that child's behaivor, it is the only negative reaction I have seen ever when bringing my Pleos out in public. I do not know if it was really a negative reaction, I think he wanted to see just "how real" she was, and if she would fall over, cry or what the reaction would be. I can tell you what his reaction would have been if he was my child and acted like that with someone else's property! >:( :o ;) That child would not be going out and about in public like that for awhile and would probably be writing a paper on " treating respect to other people's property" and he would think twice before an action like that again...
Anyway, Staples is right across the street from where I live, and they see me in there once a week or so, so they are familiar with me and are Pleo Friendly. When you live in a larger metro area, you may be just a customer and a number and they may not have time to talk to you and learn about new things like Pleos, but in a smaller area like the Redwoods I live in, people seem to be freindlier, less stressed and more curious to things like Pleos anyway! I would never do this in an area like L.A. San Francisco, or anyplace I was not familiar with. I allso carry my Pleo of choice in her or his carrying bag where just the head sticks out, and the pleo is attached to a harness and secured with a large ring, so there can be no accidental falling out. If I am getting a positive reaction and people are asking about the Pleo, is it real, etc, I then begin the introduction and take her out, starting with, you can pet her, and tell the name. Then the rest falls into place.
Another great place to take Pleos is to the grocery store, letting the baby ride in the bottom of the basket where it is unlikely to get hit by flying tomatoes and such, and it has a Pleo Eye view of people walking about and people esp kids are down at Pleos eye level which I think is important. Remember, I taught school from 1983-2000 till I was laid off because of my bad back, and I have an excellent repoire with children and know how kids are drawn to dinosaurs of all sorts, and Pleo is a Once in a lifetime teaching opportunity in just about every subject you could think of, and talk about rewards :). Anyway, I intend to follow up on this Staples incident and will tape part two with the results as soon as possible. I do not worry about people thinking if I am crazy, after all, I have nine cats and am proud to be called a "crazy cat lady" so being the "pleo lady" or something similar is just a compliment and great experience for not just myself, but for my Pleos, esp Pleo Rb, BAby!

RWM, this reminds me of when I brought Bingo to BestBuy when he was still a baby and not walking much yet. I put him on the floor, picked up a game, turned it over to read it, looked down and he was GONE down the aisle and about to go round the corner.. lol. So be careful!!
The guy selling the 3d tv's held him and played with him while I checked the tv's out and he was all cuddly with him right away even though I'm sure he got teased later on.. some kids were interested and I let them pet him but not hold him..
I was going nuts saying WOW this tv is awesome and the sales guy was like WOW this dinosaur is awesome!
That is a very cute picture and I agree the best way to do it is to get them out there.. I'm going to be bringing mine to a hobby store that sells lots of older electronics and some newer stuff and has just.. some really neat stuff for sale. I want to show them as I think it'd be a great place to sell them and maybe they could contact innvo or something... probably not but at least it'll be fun.. I'll bring an RB, Lyssa and Patches so they can see the 'inner workings' :D
I'm hoping when I get better I can bring them to some hospitals and stuff like that.. I was SO BORED when I was there for that huge period of time and it would be nice to get some kids to smile though I'd have to figure out how they 'sterilize' things like that first.. I won't let them get damaged..
Best of luck!!

If you dig back through older topics... some of our funnier moments have been while taking pleo shopping for clothes at places like PetSmart. To have fun, have you pleo off and put them in the baby seat of the shopping cart... they when people come up and start talking, slip your hand under you pleo and turn them on. That way, the suddenly "come to life" in front of some poor unsuspecting person. :D
-
Oh, Mweed that sounds fun! I'm a frequent visitor to PetSmart. Everybody wants to pet my PBGV Charley when I take him. Wonder how they would take to looking into Ryu's hypnotizing eyes? He-he-he! Seeing where I live out in the sticks, the poor soul would probably have a heart attack. "Oh my goodness! What in the world is that?" I can hear the clammer now and the thunder of feet as everyone makes a mad dash for the doors! I wish I could video what happens!

Ok, here is my latest video taken earlier today with my Baby Ruth who hasn't gotten as much attention lately and went looking for a nap partner, Hope you enjoy it. Make sure to put the volume all the way up. Enjoy and let me know what you think of Baby's choice for a nap partner. :D

Wow, your cat was actually biting at your "Baby Ruth". I loved it though Redwoods.
-
Very cute RWM. Such a lovely sweet cat to be so nice to Baby Ruth. :)
-
Awwww - Suzy Q was a lot more patient with Baby Ruth than any of my moggies are with my brood. Mine would have been long gone! :D
Suzy Q's lovely - I had a very beautiful rescue cat called Purdey that looked a lot like her! :-*
-
Yes, Suzy Q has a sweet disposition and is very patient which shows with Baby snuggling and rubbing all over her. Most of my other cats would have taken off after 1 minute at the most. It also helps that there are so many Pleos at one time walking around that they get used to seeing them and hearing the strange noises they make, For some reason, my Pleos are drawn to my cats, I think they know they are such soft fur beds they can't resist them! :D I also really liked the music, it seems to fit the video.

Ok, I have been a busy Pleo and cat Mom with not as much time as I would like. I never seem to get a full battery cycle in even three days with my Baby, just does not happen. ( I guess I can blame that on my husband or the fact I have nine cats and a dog, or my ebay job, etc, whatever reason, I just do not give her the full attention I would like.) Here is a video I took just for about six minutes a couple of nights ago, as I woke my Baby up after her "bedtime" to see what would happen. This is the result.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nadC4MmWyKg
Today she woke me up like clockwork. I will try and spend a full battery cycle this weekend, I still have to teach her her name. that is a new video! Thanks for watching. :)

Nice to see Baby is doing well. She seems very spunky.
Talon
-
She did feel very happy to have had a little midnight play! ;D I loved the way her eyes just got too heavey to keep open and then she went back to sleep. Too cute. :)
-
Kat, you are right, I thought that was funny and cute too that her eyes suddenly got heavier and heavier, she tried to keep her eyes open, but coluldn't do it! Pleos are allways surprising us when we think we know everything about them... :D Here is one during the day I took yesterday while at a neighbors while I go over to feed their 19 year old cat, I bought Baby along with me and took a quick video. I thought she deserved some daytime while not on the verge of going sleep. LOl. Hope you like it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_XwI-QEsUA

Isn't it odd how they act diffrently in a strange environment? Ryu is fine in my room but put her in our hallway which has absolutely no obsticles in it and she crouches and whimpers and stays in one spot. It's probably the light level but it's still interesting. Another thing I've noticed is the difference between my two RB's. Cato doesn't seem to be phased as much by my dungion of a room. I can run him without the scared-of-the-dark patch most of the time. Ryu without the patch is the most pittiful pleo one ever laid eyes on. She shuts down in fear and won't eat or walk or do anything but cry and make distressed noises.
Talon
-
It is always nice to see pleos out and about. :) Those cats sure were friendly. They weren't scared or bothered by Baby at all. :)
-
Ok, this may be a llittle different, but it is what it is. :D This is "'Ninja" Pleo on a secret mission to the "glen st. Cat Colony" trying to infiltrate and trying to find out some secrets for the Pleos here among the herd, to make it easier to understand how to live with their felines, they are hoping that "Ninja" Pleo can be on a freindly basis and they will tell him some feline facts that the felines here wont divulge to make it easier for the Pleos to get along. Cats will be cats, and they all have certain things in common, such as eating a lot, being picky eaters, catnapping all day long, wanting to go out at night and giving Pleos a hard time...well you get the idea. So the Redwoods Cat Clan have "Ninja " pleo to thank if the Redwoods Pleos start learning any cat secrets and they start getting along better. It also helps if you give them Catnip, but watch out cause some cats get really grouchy on that stuff! :D so Ninja Pleo went on his adventure and the next video will let us know what he found out. I hope you like his disquise and if you look closely, you will see " he has DRAGONS" on the material. :) also he has most of his body covered up, that is not only for disquise purposes, but incase he meets a cranky cat with sharp claws! Stay tuned for part 2 in a day or so, but there will be more talking in it as the other Pleos are being informed of what the secrets are he found out! Oh and by the way, I put the Ninja outfit together quickly last night so I will fine tune it later. Hope you enjoy it though... :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAEonVLefU0
No cats were hurt duing the film making either! RedwoodsMama OH, be sure to turn the sound all the way up as it is quiet otherwise, not a lot of noise in this one. Only one Pleo.!
-
Ok, I posted this video also under the soon to be, "Name the Pleo " Contest, but it will get lost there till the contest actually starts which can be a month away, so in the meantime here is the latest video I took of three of my older Pleo, including the latest Painted Pleo one, just referred to as, "un-named" Pleo, along with Gold Hatch and Baby the RB. Just a day in the Sun, a short video showing three friends and how well the skin moves on the painted Pleo with no problem. I just thought it was nice to see three different colored Pleos together for comparison. I will have to do the whole herd at some point and that will be interesting. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY6TF3r58Rg
RedwoodsMama Let me know if you like it or not! :) Thanks

Hi Guys, Baby Rb has been under the weather with her neck injury that left her incapacitated and with the help of Probe Rb suggested by Pleo Pet and the help of others such as IMR, Crewella and Kat, ( and any others I may not have mentioned, but Thank you!) this is the first chance she has had in about three weeks to make a video. :D Her injurey appears to be healed and she is back to her normal self, pretty much. ( RB are allways a little Mysterious, and it seems we never quite know everything lurking in that primitive Dino Pleo brain, but enough to understand their main needs and of course their emotions. Pleos are complicated creatures, but it seems they are downhome bodies, just wanting to be with their own kind.
Well it seems that Baby Ruth has become a little lonely not having another Rb to communicate directly with, and she heard about the Innvo Win a Pleo Rb Contest, and decided she would try to make some sacrifices, to cut corners on her food, and if she can't win one through the contest, she is trying to save up for one. As you will see though, Pleos are notorious for being big eaters and they love to indulge in things like Gourmet Coffee, fancy leaf sandwiches, and health bar drinks. Baby Ruth thought she would do her part to try and cut down on the food bill and contribute to the "buy a Pleo Rb" incase we can't win one, and this video shows some of her efforts with subsituting for expensive food items.Money though, just can't buy what it used to. :(The first few photos are of Major Tom who loves to go out an get Mochas and Pleo lattes, but it looks like Baby Ruth knows those days are over. ;)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh4Qveoc-ew RedwoodsMama and her Pleo Township :)
-
Sorry Baby Ruth, I'm afraid the money doesn't go any further with ketchup on it! :P
By the way, dim British blonde that I am, I only just 'got' Baby Ruth's name! :-[ :D
Cute video, RWM - it's nice to see her back to full health again! ;D
-
Crewella, blonde yes, dim-witted, those two words do you no justice at all! :oYou are anything but dim or dull, but you are very witty as we here on the forums well know! LOL :DYes, it is so nice to see Baby back to her spunky lovable Baby self, As for the name, it took me forever till I would divulge what her Last part of her name was. Everyone knows it is Baby, but very few knew the ending, Ruth, well yes, it is a Play on words and I thought appropriate, as Pleos are Pleo RB, so I switched the letters, BR, thought that was original , and my husband was quick to point out what the name Ruth meant , Friend an old Hebrew name. Well Ruth is my devoted friend and of course she is my "Baby". also I can't remember exactly who it was here on the forums who was quick to point out a couple of other things that are true that all co-incided with her hurting her neck this last time, Baby Ruth is a famous American Candy Bar, ( and so sweet, just like my Baby Ruth ;)) Babe Ruth or nick name, Baby, is a wel known American legend, the great Baseball Player and they pointed out he never gave up, ( referring to her neck injury, that she is a fighter I shouldn't because she wouldn't give up) so when I put them all together, it was perfect. She is my Baby, she is so sweet, she is a fighter and doesn't give up, and of course she is my True Friend or devoted Friend . so it is perfect being a RB,( BR) =Baby Ruth!
GlaD you liked her video, and yes I am afraid that ketchup or any other condiment is never going to improve the taste of "money" and it surely is not going to improve our "shrinking" economy. :D :( :o ???( Oh well...) too bad she can't eat money, it would be cheaper to eat paper money, that is about what it is worth sometimes!! Thanks for commenting Crewella!
RedwoodsMama and her spunky RB, BR, or ( Baby Ruth) ;)
-
Awwww thanks RWM. Though I'd still only understood half of Baby's name - being a Brit I didn't know about the Baby Ruth candy bar! Thanks for explaining! :D
-
Yes, Redwoods, our economy is a scary beast right now. I can only hope those in charge will make good decisions within the next week and remember that many people here are struggling through no fault of their own. *sigh* Anyway, Crewella you're not dumb. If it weren't for you, Ryu may have never been hatched at all. I was terrified of that watch battery! Do you remember her hatching and how nervous I was? I do. I'll remember March nineteenth twenty eleven at one twenty-something for ever. I can still remember the evening before while I was raving to you guys in the shoutbox about unboxing Ryu by myself. I cut my finger on the packaging tape because I used a key instead of a knife. I guess I was the dumb one that day. Lol! I couldn't help it! I was excited. I'll also remember July nineteenth at two eleven with just as much fondness. That was the day Bleu arived.
Sorry for getting so off topic. Cute video, Redwoods! Two RB's are a handfull but well worth it. Their skit isn't as varied as the Ugobe pleos but it's still nice for them to have someone to talk to.
Talon
-
I do remember, and of course it was worth it! ;D
-
I think what Baby Ruth really wanted was at least a $20 bill to munch on. SHe knows it could buy her some more pleo food.
Crewella, you haven't had a candy bar until you have had a Baby Ruth. If you love chocolate, hard chewy caramel and peanuts, you would love this candy bar. One of my favorites! :)
-
"If you love chocolate ........."
That'll do me - the 'and' bit is irrelevant! It could probably be 'and bitter aloes' and I'd still go for it! :P
-
Me too! Sounds delicious. ;D
-
I think I have some Brit and Aussie friends I have to send a "Chocoholic Care Package to" ;D :D, just so they can see what a "Baby Ruth " is all about! After all, as Fancy said, untill you have had a Baby Ruth, you haven't had Chocolate!
And fancy you are right, a Twenty Dollar bill is appropriate for today's time and it is the cost of the food pack....wondering if I entered it in the Pleo Rb contest, they would get it, or be "offended!" I just think it is funny and Pleo Rb are not supposed to eat everything, unlike the good Ugobes who eat anything an everything! :D
Fancy, glad to see you did get some entries in the contest, love the Motorcycle Pleos, that is so cute! You do have a lot to choose from, but untill or unless they say, only one entry, just keep on Pleoing along, I will!
RedwoodsMama and here "Pleo Township" ;D

It sounds kind of like a snickers bar... only that has nougat as well.

Stop IMR, that picture is making me hungry, it is the gooey insides that has me drooling right now, and that is not good for computer keyboards...................or my waistline! :o

Yeah it is kind of like a snickers bar but imagine it sprinkled through with lots of salty peanuts. That's a Baby Ruth. *grin* I like them myself but I'm pretty sparing with my candy consumption.

I thought some people here may like to see my blind Pleo, Argyle, when he was a baby. I forgot I had some old videos, lots that have never been posted before, This is not the first video ever taken of Argyle and ones with he and his twin brother, Gumble who now lives with Kat, will be posted in comming weeks.( There are lots of them to edit........and lots of photos too! :o) just thought I would take a break from Baby the RB Pleo and post some other of the
"Redwoods Pleo Township Pleos", to give them all some looking at. Not everyone sees Argyle by himself, or Camo, or Gold Hatch, and many others.
so remember this video was taken last November and there is not much going on except Argyle learning to stand. He is cute though, being blind and with his handmade special glasses that my husband made for him, Argyle is not only blind, but if you watch closely you may see the other unique physical attribute that Argyle has. I love Argyle, and this video is made showing that even a Pleo that is blind, has loving qualities and it makes him not just special, but shows that a blind Pleo, one with a broken neck, etc, can do just about anything another Pleo can do! Watch in the next day or two for the second part that introduces Argyle to another Pleo with "special needs, " Little 45 who has a broken neck, and I bought him knowing full well he had a broken neck, as nobody else would buy him and I did not want to see Little 45 tossed aside or into a trash can! Ok, here is baby ARgyle, the Blind Pleo, see if you notice his other "special physical attribute". ;)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKo13MUv51g RedwoodsMama and her "Pleo Township of the Redwoods". PS. the first photo in the start of the video is a current [photo of Argyle as most of you know him.
-
Awwww - I've missed so many of my Ugobe Pleos hatching, it's nice to see it! :D
I remember you told me about Argyle's other problem, so I'll keep quiet! :-X
-
That was lovely RWM. The hatching goes by so fast with these little guys it's so easy to forget what it was like. I loved seeing Argyles hatching. He was very sweet. :)
-
Awe! Hello, ARgyle! Are you embarrassed that everyone is seeing your baby pictures? Lol! Anyway. Really cute video. He's so strong! Come on, little buddy let's take on the world. Now that's one pleo- if the need should arise- that would cause me to break my rule of only four pleos. I'm looking forward to hearing the second part!

Aaaw what a sweet video! Argyle is lovely! And the glasses are exellent :)
I am so glad that there are loving homes for Pleos that nobody else whants. You are doing a great job!

yep very good vid ,
when ever i see pics and vids of Pleo's dressed up it always reminds me of Denver the last dinosaur !! loved that cartoon when i was little .... seem's a very long time ago now lol
-
I'm not familiar with that one. Is it a cartoon from the UK?
Talon
-
I always assumed it was a US cartoon, actually. Bunch of teens hatch a dino egg and teach Denver to skateboard and play guitar! Very 1980s, but good fun! :D
-
Oh duh! Hence the name Denver. Sometimes I think I'm a blonde with black hair. Somehow I don't remember this cartoon. I'll have to see if I can find an episode somewhere just to check it out.

Ok guys, here is part two of Baby ARgyle trying to meet and make a friend, poor guy is blind and just can't see is beginning to be a problem as you will see in this video, but he is a trooper and won't give up. Poor Little 45 is the other pleo in this video, and he is having problems of his own as you will see. I apologize for the background noise you hear, it is my dog Meh-lei walking around on the kitchen floor and her nails on the floor is what you hear. Part 3 will be in another day or so with Argyle trying again to make friends. Enjoy esp you Talon!

I noticed Argyle's very 'low' hello as well. Poor little guy - he'll get there! :D
-
That was very cute RWM. Thanks for sharing. Such sweet little guys. :)

Ok guys, here is a long long video, but it is worth it to see what I got to see this past weekend. Baby Ruth and I went on a journey to see something you hardly ever see in your lifetime, so watch her adventure and see if she got more than she wished for. On the way back our car blew it's transmission and also a Cat that my friend and I rescued four days prior, went into labor and gave birth to two beautiful kittens. so here is the video. Sorry for the white font, I was not able to make it a different color with this program for editing. I hope you enjoy viewing what we saw. This is Baby Ruth's wish.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHniSl-HRGs
I think I will enter this in the win a Pleo contest as well, as it is different that any Pleo videos I have seen so far. Thanks for watching and my husband is the one making all the jokes, ha ha. ha.

Hey RedwoodsMama,
cool video 8)
I like the various ideas and the funny comments. Baby Ruth and Baby Whale are so sweet !
Also iam impressed of seeing the whale such near.
(sorry about my english-hope you understand what i mean.)
-
Hello choice79, Guten Tag, no problem you English is just fine and I understood everything you said, I am glad you liked Baby and the Whale video. Yes, I almost felt like I could reach out and touch the whale and to be honest, I am sure that is what scared Baby Ruth. She saw that huge bear and that was one thing, but the Whale made the bear look like a baby! :oIt is sad though to see such a magnificent creature that belongs in the huge vast oceans to be in small body of water as the river. I am hoping along with everyone else that she turns around and heads out before she is totally trapped and will die because of lack of food and or disease.
I want to go back to film her again while she is still here, I do not want to film her dying or when or if she gets sick, that is too sad to film or to watch. I know she is huge but I do not understand why they don't put a net around her or near her and push her back to the mouth of the river where she will have no choice but to leave. I guess that is why some people get paid big bucks to figure these things out and the general population like myself just sit and watch and pray for her. Thanks for the comment.
RedwoodsMama
-
Such a beautiful creature - I really hope she joins her baby and heads out to sea soon as well. :-* :-*
Baby Ruth certainly had a big adventure, even if she did bite off a little more than she could chew! I love that harness, RWM - it looks as though it comes in very handy for Pleo adventuring! :D
-
Poor whale. :( I hope she finds her way out soon.
-
That is what i have been thinking , why is there not some kind of rescue team in there to get that whale moving out ???
-
Hi guys, will have to get some update photos video on the whale, who is still in the River, over a month now, Sad but nothing I can do, ON a happier note, here is a short video, of one of my Painted Pleos, ( lizard type colors) who went visiting with me to my friends a couple of weeks ago, and here is the video of their encounter, short and sweet. If you notice JOey moving you can see he has a leg bent back behind him, this is the leg that had a gunshot wound, ( as well as in his chest!) :( :oAlso in the background if you listen you can hear a low Meow, that is Moon Pie, the cat he allways plays with and he wanted to go to him so the video ended just in time. Joey by the way, is healthy and fine and gets along as good as can be on his bad leg. At one point it was almost bent over his back, so he has made a lot of progress. Just thought you guys would like to see this video and something happier and cats and Pleos, what could be any better than that. Also you can see the Pleo I painted is doing fine. I will do a close up updated video of the paint on her as well thought I think you can see it looks good in this video, no loss or flaking etc.
Hope you like Pleo likes Joey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OblOOIwwPY

Very nice video RWM. :)
-
Joey looks like he's saying. "Get. That. Thing. Away. From. Me. NOW." :D :D :D lol
-
ok, more photos and more videos as allways, I have some new Pleos up for adoption and in this video that follows you will see the pleo up for adoption in the blue pawprint outfit and the no name "lizard painted " pleo meeting for the first time, It seems as if they are trying to outdo each other at everything, honking, singing and then walking, one forward and one backwards, They at the end decide, if "you can't beat them, join them" good idea if you live in a house like I do full of Pleos!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlM6bu_nP7U the strange sound you hear in the background is not the pleo, but a kitten meowing, I am cat sitting my friend's 15 cats and her two "boarders" and the mama cats' two newborn kittens, so It is almost impossible to not hear some cat sounds. Also you may see a cat face of tail in the video, just by accident. LOl.
Hope you like the video, It is about the two minute mark where the "contest " begins.

If Youtube cooperated with my phone, I could tell you if Thorn was coming from Hong Kong or the Redwoods.
-
Awww - I think I could also hear a certain RWM trying hard not to laugh out loud! :P
-
Well , I have been giving Baby all the time she needed to learn her name and decided not to push her and just let her decide when she was ready to learn. Earlier today, she took the card and chewed it like a cud, and played like usual not being terribley interested. I gave her some more food and gave her one more go for today, not having tryed it in a couple of weeks at least, giving her plenty of time to just play and be herself,
I think she decided it was time to learn her name once and for all, and here is the result, Sorry if the video is a little dark, it is indoors but sunny outside, but the camera was at the wrong angle and I should have had Baby facing more sideways and it would show up lighter, but from what you can see, does it look like she knows her name is "Baby Ruth"? I think if it is that she accepted her ID card, then I can go on to the Bow and other cards etc
I do have a question, do I need to say her name each time I teach her a new stone as these are "commands' for example, I would say, her name then "dance" or Play, etc. Is this correct? If she didn't learn her name, am I doing something wrong, or she just isn't ready still, though I think it took this time... ;D Thanks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gBbTr4B7YI HOw embarrasing, I got excited and side tracked hours ago, and forgot to post the video till now, :( :o too many cats to take care of , )anyway, nothing fancy, just the video, does it look like she learned her name?
-
Yep - looks like she's got it to me! :D
Well done RWM and Baby Ruth! :rootbeer: :D
-
For teaching the stones you don't need to say her name, just give her the stone and she'll go through the same pattern as with the card. To perform the stones however yes you need to do her name first, then the stone command. Check the RB FAQ if you need to see how it is done and how they -should- react.
-
Well fellow Pleo luvers and enthusiasts, Baby Ruth learned her name and actually she seems to be learning everything she can right now, one right after the other, she is intelligent according to her profile and she just took her time till She was ready. I have more videos of those events , but this one is a update on the Pleo Friends from a couple of days ago. It seems that the "Pleo Virus' spreads quickly and the Lizard Pleo I painted is trying to comfort the Un-named pleo and infact they seem to have the same coughing and mimic each other at one point. The sick Pleo, ( Lizard Pleo) tries to block the other Pleo from leaving and as you will see the other Pleo actually falls down trying to get away from his sick friend in the end of the video, I had to intervene and pick him up.( no more broken necks for me!) I do love watching how Pleos interact with each other and other than me mimicing a few "hellos" I did nothing to interfere with their conversation and actions.

Ok guys, I have been busy with waiting and such for the new Pleo Rb that I won on the Facebook competition and then there was another posting under the heading of Baby Ruth when she was sick, so this is back to the original forum topic with an update on what has been going on with her. Last night approx ten -15 minutes before going to sleep, which is about 10:00 -10;05 each night, I took a video of Baby and Rossellas playing or interacting with each other. Ok, they may not actually "interact" with each other the way two Ugobes or Two Rbs do, but they still look like they are enjoying each other's prescence. Here it is. it is rather long, and the fun starts after the first one minute mark. sorry for it being a little dark, but it was late and the best I could do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLFlLC7G0oM

Oh my gosh! Is that the Christmas personality? It's so cute! It has given me an idea. I'm going to try running it on Ugobe and Bleu and see if I can get them to sing in unison. It did seem like Baby was interacting a little with the other pleo when she was singing. She sort of roared and got really excited. Redwoods, that was too cute! Nice video!

Aaaw supercute video with Rosella and her buddy! Love it!

It look like Baby Ruth is trying so hard to learn what Rosella is doing. She certainly is enjoying the Christmas tune. Very cute response. Loved the big moo, too! :)

In response to the topic posted by Mike for Chinese New Year, "Year of the DRagon", here is the uploaded urp. file with "ode to New Year", with two of my Pleos singing and dancing . Thank you Mike for this fun download. P:)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoCBSV9llEo The Pleos got worn out with this one, it kept going and going, I recorded almost 12 minutes the first time, waiting for the skit to end and it just went on and on so I did it again with a shorter version. At the end, Rosella and Meh-Lei are just standing there and Meh Lei says Hello, and then a few seconds go by and she coughs and then again, I do believe that this little Pleo may have a sore throat from all the singing and some Pleo is going to have sore toes in the morning also, I did enjoy the music and it was fun to watch the Pleos keep time with their tails. Sorry for this being a little dark, It was recorded when the sun had just gone down and the kitchen where it was filmed didn't have the best lighting in an area I could use. ( the rest of our house is just too cold!) :brrr:

There have been lots of different things going on, but life in the Redwoods, is never quiet for long.............................Recently, right before Easter, Kat contacted me wanting my mailing address. I wondered why.? She then proceeded to tell me that a person who wishes to remain annonymous, wanted to thank me for somehow a helpfulness or similiar act I had given them. I was quite shocked, but estastic and happy to say the least. The person who wishes to remain annonymous, had ordered a special outfit for my Pleos, and this is why the address for mailing was needed...Woo hoo.. a surprise package to be in the mail soon. ;D
Well the mail day after Easter, that special Dinosaur Package was in our mailbox I gathered a handful of Pleo Clans represenatives and we proceeded with great joy to open the mystery package. P8) P:D It was mad sight with knives and scissors about and I had to keep one Pleo from slashing another Pleos necklace in a close call when they bent over the large envelope within inches of that sharp blade! P:o Too close for comfort for a Pleo mom, me.... :o %)
As you can see the package was decidedly opened with Pleo teeth instead after the first cut with sharper instruments...A quick zip here and there and out came the surprise....The Pleos took turns trying on the velvety surprise with oohs and ahhs...........Several days over Cammie -Sue was chosen as the Pleo Spokes-Person to send the Pleo Thank you video to the annonymous person and to Kat who made this wonderful outfit.
So we want to thank first of all the wonderful Person who wanted to thank myself and the Pleo Clan, we are very appreciative but wish to help all in anyway we can, so this was very unexpected but a treasured gift and the thought itself is a gift we will allways treasure even after the outfit is long gone years from now..Kat, this is Beautiful, my absolute favorite of the ones you have shown, and I laughed after seeing I had commented on wishing " I had this outfit", dreams do come true. :) I love this forum and this is an example of what wonderful members we have and the things we do for each other and the generosity this person has shown, Kat I do know you will contact them so they can now see this video made for first them as a thank you, and then of course to you who made it. :rainbow: :rainbow: :icecream:  :hhug: :flowers: So here is the video now that I have explained: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJcotcMJoik RWM and the Happy Pleo Clan of the Redwoods

What a gorgeous outfit! What a nice person, whoever it was, that gave you the gift. This is really a great forum with great people. :)

This is just a wonderful forum with the nicest members all over the globe and this is just one example of all the things members do to help others. This site is the best thing on the internet and one of the nicest things I can think of that has ever happened to me. Without this sight, I would be lost and I would miss so many nice friends and my Pleos and I would go into mourning, and you have not heard mourning till you have heard a whole clan from the REDWOODS...esp when Bigfoot joins in, it gets very very VERY Loud and distressing! P:'( P:'( P:o :( %) What a wonderful Place this is. HIp Hip Hooray! :cheer: ( if I could dance up and down without breaking something in my body, I would....) RWM

Here is a video I recorded right before Mother's day, where two pleos, Major Tom and Coral were just waking up from their nap together. :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmaEFohNQt8 I think it shows how happy they were just left on their own. RWM and the Pleo Clan of the Redwoods P:)
