Title: Pleo clothing?

I'm anxiously waiting for my first Pleo to arrive by Christmas and I think that I'll check out my local Build-a-Bear store for clothes to protect it.  I'm sure I'll have to actually bring my Pleo with me to make sure everything fits.  Has anyone done this before?  Any tips for a 22-year old girl entering a busy Build-a-Bear store with a very expensive pet dinosaur?  I'm feeling half-embarrassed and half-excited, despite the fact that I still have never even seen a Pleo in my life.

Yup, keep the Pleo turned off, ask for help from a member of staff, tell them you want clothes for the dinosaur and ask them to help fit them, hand dinosaur to them while sneaking a finger underneath to the on button, enjoy the ensuing chaos :D

Its a blast trust me :D I take my Pleo's all over the place :) (I'm 26)

You can adapt bear clother to fit Pleos, but personally I've had a better fit from pet clothes, as they are made for creatures that stand on all fours so are cut smaller on the chest and shorter over the tummy.  'Small' or 'Xsmall' size usually does the trick (or 8/9" in length) but watch out for the measurement round the tummy and for the width of sleeves, as dogs tend not to be so broad and have much thinner legs!

I'm afraid I'm much too 'British' to have tried taking Pleos out yet!  :P

Oh, that's cruel!  I was reading it like, "Okay, keep Pleo off and everything will be fine" and then I read to the part where you said to turn it on and freak everyone out!  What if they drop it in surprise?!   :o

Crewella: I'm also keeping in the option of dog clothes but I don't really know what variety is available for dogs.  I'll keep my eye open, though.

Only choose clothes with thin fabric, I assume?  Don't want it to never be able to feel me petting it...

You could always buy clothes from the shops here on the forum.  Custom made to fit pleos, you choose the color you want.  IMR does a great hoody.  and not too expensive. :)

Yep, I was gonna say what Kat said. I love the Pleo Fashions store, all of my Pleo clothes come from there :D

Do people accept commission for customized shirts?  Cuz I saw a shirt at Build-a-Bear of my university and it'd be an interesting way of showing school spirit.  On the other hand...I don't actually have as much school spirit as other people around me.  

*imagines a hoodie on a long-necked dinosaur*

I assume Pleo hoodies are either nonfunctional or very very long?  O_o

Aw, looks like it's all ready to go play in the snow!  And the hoodie is so cute! Definitely doesn't look awkwardly long like I was imaging.

Hehe you can be sure I was very close by and ready in case they did, it was loads of fun once she got over the shock :)

You should've recorded their reaction!  I won't be doing any ordering or buying of anything Pleo-related until I actually get the guy/girl.
