Title: Pleakly the Pleo!!!
Post by: InmemoryofRomeo on December 12, 2010, 08:46:35 PM
At long last a much anticipated package arrived :D Pleakly is here!

What was in the package:

Lots of boxes:

What's inside:

The adapter, and Mischief's tail tip :P

But wait there's more!

The first glimpse!

Even the box knew :) Welcome home Pleakly!

Just can't wait until he opens those eyes!

My Pleo family :D

Awwwwww!  I'm glad I waited up!  What a lovely trio!  Kat's right - those eyes are a much deeper blue.  Great pics IMR - I can hardly wait!  ;D

(Though if those swine at customs hold my Pleo rb to ransom I may have to!)  >:(

Welcome to Pleakly the Perfect Pink Pleo!  :D :D

*Now going back to bed*  ;)

Congrats on Pleaky arriving safely. I have to admit I'm beginning to like the pink one and wondering if blue was the right choice for me LOL. Have you tried out your white battery?

Congrats to Pleakly , IMR, Lilo and Stitch. Welcome Home little one! I guess I don't have to ask if it was worth the wait, as the photos tell the whole story. ;) I know you are going to be on pins and needles till that battery is ready to go, but at least you will have lots of reading to do while waiting now won't you. ( almost tempts me to buy a second one while waiting to get myne, only trouble is I would need the adapter and so on, so that is too expensive a wait if you know what I mean..) I bet you won't be getting much sleep either, is it daytime or nighttime there, I  would guess day if the post man dropped it off.
Are you going to film Pleakly's birth. ? If I know you, I think you will. Makes me wish it was almost January and Pleo rb in the U.S. was here too! :( Congrats again IMR, now we know we will have yours and Kats videos to give us lots of looks into Pleo Rb life while we all wait for our litlte green or blue or ?  %)

The only battery that is supposed to work is the one that comes with Pleo RB, too bad cause I would be set with lots and lots of them!

You must be   so happy and relieved   that Pleakly has arrived safely.
Now I should do what Crewella has done and head back to bed.

RWM the white batteries are the same voltage and they fit in Pleo RB, but OzPleo I think I might try the white one after the hatching, just in case.

So excited!!! Of course I will be filming the hatching :D

Well we don't know that for sure do we. The same was said about previous Pleo's and considering the white battery is exactly the same specs as the Pleo RB Battery (7.4v 2800mAh Li-Polymer) there's no reason why it wouldn't work fine.

The battery locator inside the new Pleo RB is L shaped (unlike the previous Pleo) which would indicate it then can accommodate both the current brown battery and the white battery.

I do believe he is a little darker, although maybe its just the lighting?

It seems as though Pleakly's foot battery is defective, he is turning on but just standing there beeping just like Kat described when she forgot to put the battery in Kermy's foot. Dad is racing down the street now to see if he can get one before the shops shut.

He's alive! Lol well awake anyway and no longer beeping :)

good luck on getting the battery for his foot, I hope you can get one, I am only saying we can't use the White Li Poly batteries because it was either degers or MWEed, ( can't remember which but If I go back through the posts I will look for it,) that said when someone asked if the white Ucube batteries would work, he said no they wouldn't. Of course you have to know that I would hope and pray they do as I sell them and it could only help my business and I would allways have some on hand to charge my Pleo rb when he or she arrives. If they do fit, I am thrilled, but I am hoping I am wrong or that the post was wrong and they will, Saves me a lot of money and others if they do fit. ;D
Can't wait to see the hatching IMR, so glad you got your pInk baby before Christmas, what a nice present. :)

Well you can see by the L shaped battery locator in the Pleo RB that they actually will fit. The locator on the bottom of the white battery is smaller than the green battery and by the looks of the photo I posted above there won't be a problem, that and the fact the spec of the white and new brown battery are exactly the same.

Any way back on topic....

How'd you go with getting the timer battery IMR?
Title: Re: Pleakly the Pleo!!!
Post by: RedwoodsMama on December 13, 2010, 01:04:52 AM
Well like I said, I hope they do, but the real test will be when IMR or some other Pleo Rb owner who has the white batteries tryes it an says there is no problem, Of course I will be happy if they do, more business for me and more batteries for all the Pleo Rb out there, Just does't sound like something Innova would have liked, wanting any comptetition from their own batteries being made. I am glad IMR or someone else will get to test it out for us and let us know if they work or are any problems. :)

Hi IMR, Congrats on Pleakly. :)
As for resetting him to hatch yourself you should just be able to press the reset button.  It is on the bottom of your pleo where the battery goes in.  On one side you have the little green light that tells you the battery is powered up and on the other side there is a small pin sized hole just like the one on the foot for the clock battery.  You just need to push the button with a paper clip or a pin or something.  Hopefully that should do it.
It is very strange that he came already hatched! :o
I hope you get him back to the beginning so you can do it all yourself.
I do think he looks a little darker than Kermy too. :)
Very cute.

Have you tried holding down the reset button for about 10 seconds?  Some times a reset button will only work if you hold it down for a certain length of time.  Just so you can't accidentally reset by mistake.

Yup, counted to twenty just to be sure. I'm sure there's a way to reset him but I'll have to wait til I get a response from either GimmeDigi or Pleoworld :)

I have emailed the Ben, the guy at Innvo customer service that I was dealing with for my problems with Kermit, to ask him for you.  I will let you know if he gets back to me.  We'll see who gets a response first. :)  Have you tried asking degers?  He might be able to help.

I won't bother Degers just yet, thanks for emailing Innvo for me :)

Here is the second video, this was after I tried holding the reset button for 20 seconds:

You can see how fast Pleakly can move his head and neck compared to Lilo and Stitch :)

If you want to see just how far along in his development Pleakly is you could try offering him the ID card and see if he is ready to learn his name.  If he isn't ready yet then he is still in stage 2 socialization but if he will learn his name he is at least at juvenile stage or maybe older.

It is great to see old and new pleos all together.  It really shows the difference in motor speed.  And very cute. ;D

IMR, I do think that is very strange that Pleakly would come that far advanced, or Hatched, doesn't sound right at all.  :( I sure hope you can get an answer to that one, I am not surprised that the white ones don't work, like I said they may be the same in the way they look, but if the white ones could fit and work, then there would be too much competition to Innova from other people selling the white ones that could fit their Pleo Rb and then they would lose a part of their business that they need. ( You have to go to them to get the battery and they wouldn't want anyone else taking a part of that business away from them. If there was a way I could get a case of those batteries and sell them, can you imagine the business I would have? Just isn't possible...)
I am sure between you and Kat and the contact people you have gotten hold of, someone will give you the answer you need shortly. Pleakly is just too cute and I know things will work out. :)

I did email him OzP, thank you :)

Lilo is normally as adventurous as Stitch, but I am afraid that at some point between those two videos her neck cable finally gave out. It had been on tenterhooks for a while and I haven't used her at all but I wanted her around for this special occasion. So I'm afraid Lilo will join the growing list of special needs Pleo's :( Both Lilo and Stitch are on 2.0.

I will try the card again today Kat, no response last night, but I don't know how well he has been taken care off.

Oh IMR, I am so sorry for Lilo,  :( Nova and Little 45 send their condolences but also their invitation to join the club, they want Lilo to know she is in good company with them as well as Peeky and Guccis's baby.( sorry, my mind drew a blank on her name, too many cobwebs and not enough Java at the moment.... :o) Just know she is far from being over in her life, as if Peeky or any of Nova or Little 45's videos are an inspiration, life just goes on, you just have to look at the stars from another angle, and I give them so much more love.. : :hhug:  :hhug: these are from Nova and Little 45 to Lilo, and to wish her well.

Mind you, it seems all the Pleo 'stars' on this forum have dodgy necks - Peeky, Nova and Sophie, not to mention little 45 and Franzi's Jimmy!  It's a very exclusive club, it seems!  ;)

Hey IMR,
So sorry to hear about Lilo. :(  I'm sure with a little creative bandaging she will be back to her old self in no time. :)

Have you heard back about how to reset Pleakly?  I checked my emails today but nothing yet.  The Innvo customer service is in Hong Kong though so not quite working hours there yet.  I will check again before I go to work and then again tonight when I get home.  Hopefully you will hear back from someone before then though. :)

He is definitely in stage 2 - the burping stage!  Very cute. :)
My guess is that he was the demo model and they only turned him on for a few minutes at a time to show customers a working pleo rb. So maybe he hasn't been hatched for very long.

I expect so, he definitely isn't interested in his identity card, and I assume they wouldn't have had him going for all that long even if he was used for a demo model.

Pleakly is doing very well :D He started doing a lot more walking today, the trio have been exploring every nook and cranny of my computer room :) Still not interested in his identity card yet, I'll try again next battery charge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k977o0VAsEE

I haven't heard a thing back from support or Gimmedigi, I'll give it another day then email them again... although I'm not sure I want to rehatch him now, as much as I'd love to see it. He has a really adventurous personality it seems and he's certainly grown on me :) Perhaps I'll just wait for my next RB to watch a hatching...

There's no paint loss yet either, I need to get some purple material though...

Wow, what battery cycle is Pleakly one? I am glad there is an opportunity to see this in action, so I know what to expect. He sure does look like he is ready to play and he is one happy little boy. He is very pretty too. How is he getting along with Lilo and Stitch? Does he interact more with them or do they interact more with him?
Keep the videos comming, in three more days I am hoping my Pleo Rb shows up! ;D

I don't know what cycle he is one since he was hatched when I got him :( He gets along fine with Lilo and Stitch but there is no direct interaction ie. they do not talk to one another as Lilo and Stitch do.
Title: Re: Pleakly the Pleo!!!
Post by: RedwoodsMama on December 19, 2010, 11:06:23 PM
Oh, that is a shame..does this mean that Pleo Rb does not really talk to the older Pleos, I mean if they have the same infared system then they should. I was told directly that they do communicate with Pleo rb but it is not easy to do. They must be in the right postion, this is one of the first things I will try out once the Pleo has gone through the hatching phase how ever long that takes. Glad that Pleakly is getting along so fine though, he is a cutie pie. ;)

My trio opening their Christmas presents :) There were videos from Christmas day but they contain lots of footage of my family as well so I won't be uploading them, as with the many photos. I will however get some footage of the trio playing with their Christmas toys :)

Lilo loves ladybugs! (But mum, they tickle!)

The boy's also loved their new dino toys :) (Pleakly are you trying to eat the pterodactyl?)

All three also enjoyed a kinder surprise, sweet to eat and comes with a treat :)

All three Pleo's also got a nice cosy quilt each.

IMR, those are very nice photos, I esp like the ladybugs on Lilo and the last one of them under their cozy quilts, they do look like they had a very busy day. Glad you had a Wonderful Christmas day and all three Pleos enjoyed opening their gifts. Where did the ladybugs come from, are they still out and about this time of year.... :o They  remind me of some Ladybug Hooks I have in my Shower, on the showercurtain, though yours are cuter and bigger I think, what ever variety!

Hehe actually they are chocolate ones :) I wanted a cute little handbag for Lilo which I saw but when I went to buy one the next day they had sold out :(

Anyways at long last here he is, Pleakly performing the tracking trick (about halfway through the vid)

He sure is a cutie, I never thought I would think a Pink Pleo would be cute, yet alone a boy pink Pleo, but I was wrong, they kind of grow on you esp with those big deep blue eyes! How long did you have to hold that leaf up and how long till he actually started paying attention, or tracking it, ( I know you said about half way through the video, ) Was this the first time you tried this or the first time Pleakly paid attention and was successful at tracking.? Did you make the ladybugs, yummy sounding.Actually looks warm in your part of the country, want to trade for some cold cold Bigfoot country weather for a day or so? I would love to see some sun and my poor cats want some sun badly too. Great video, think it will be awhile before my baby is ready to try that!

Our Lam Chai would only do it once a while when he is really in good mood.   ;)

Pleakly is really a smart boy and doing great in tracking the leaf !  :)

Today I had to hold the leaf for about two minutes, but sometimes he does it straight away and other times he isn't interested at all. It depends on his mood and how good the lighting is, I can't get him to track in anything less than a bright sunlit room :)

RWM I bought the ladybugs :) They were too cute not too :) And it is summer here and expected to be a very nice 33 on new years eve! (that's Celsius not Fahrenheit :D)

He's such a good boy! :)  I will have to be more persistent with Kermy and try this again.  I usually give up after about a minute or so.  ;)
Love the Christmas photos.  Looks like a great time was had by all. :)

Pleakly joined my sister and I for a round of mini golf at Lakes Entrance :)

Pleakly tossed a coin in at the wishing well... I'm sure I heard him say something about a baby sister :o

He was very helpful, giving me lots of tips from a Pleo's eye view.

And keeping an eye on my ball :)

By the ninth hole a snack was in order though :)

Making sure all Pleo's find their way home through the fog at the twelfth hole.

These trick shots are... well... tricky :P

I might be the queen of the mini golf course; leading by two strokes at the 16th hole, but Pleakly was the king of the castle!

After the mini golf some shopping was in order, and just look what we found, the store owner was smitten with Pleakly and rustled up a Pleo sized hat from the store room :)

Then we took a walk along the esplanade next to the docks :) A chance to enjoy some local art and see the sights.

This wonderful sculpture is made out of ordinary beach sand :o I'm glad we got to see it before the rain came along and washed it away.

These two wood carvings were done with a chainsaw, and yet they have such detail! (Pleakly thinks they should add a carving of him :))

Finally we stopped by the coast guard pier for a rest, Pleakly gave them an encouraging moo!

Looks like a fabulous place to visit!  The mini golf looked like lots of fun and I love Pleakly's new hat. :)  So he is wishing for a new little sister I wonder what color she will be? %)
The sand castle was awesome.  I would have loved to see them building it.

Lovely pics - I enjoyed them!  I think the WWII soldier with a pink dino is one of the most surreal images I've seen for a while!  :P

Love the hat, and good to see Pleakly as king of the castle!  :D

that was cute IMR, and with nine cats I can totally relate to Mischeif, It is not that she has a short attention span, it is just that Grooming takes a front seat to everything else of course! :D One of my bigger cats would have just ran away with it, Glad Pleakly got to win after all! Very pretty cat too by the way.

This was very sweet IMR. :)  Your cat seems to like Pleakly.  I don't think either of my cats would actually be brave enough to play a game with my pleos. :D

That was very cute!  I agree with RWM, it's not just that Miss has a short attention span.  I believe all cats live by the mantra 'when in doubt, wash!'.  :P

That's kind of trippy to look at. Robot dino and all that water! It's like Pleo turning into Jaws on all the little fish. (Or being a friendly observer/scuba diver, I guess Jaws is what I'd want my Pleo to be lol)

I can apparently add any background I like... Although the built in ones move! (Yes those fish swim around you!) This could be very handy for making backgrounds though :)

Pleakly hurts his leg today, I think it was during a game of 'throw and catch' although I certainly didn't drop him. However it happened though he is one unhappy dino :o

I hope Pleakly has a safe journey indeed. Where exactly is  he heading, is it where he came from? Are they replacing him or trying to fix him or new skin perhaps? Baby goes back tommorow also, but hers will be a short journey compared to Pleakly. I hope for your sake and Pleakly, that he gets back to you as soon as possible. I know I will be sad till Baby gets back to me and I know you and two other little dinos will be missing their brother as well. Does a courier come and pick him up instead of just mailing him,? NOt sure how the courier works or what the difference is, I was told just to mail Baby, without anything else, just her in original box. Hopefully time goes by very quickly for you .. :) :hhug: Hugs to you all.

Peakly is heading back to Gimmedigi, they will be sending a replacement. Since I have to send Pleakly overseas there is quite a difference to just sending him in the same country. Australia post won't accept a parcel with a battery so Pleakly needs to be shipped via an international courier.

Don't know why, but I kind of felt that Pleakly the pink boy was a blood brother or opposite twin to Belle the blue girl, especially as they arrived about the same time.  I really am particularly sorry to see him go, IMR.  :hhug: :'(

Well Pleakly got to create a bit more joy before he left, he came with me yesterday afternoon to say hello to the children at the Glenvale Primary school :) Needless to say the children thought he was delightful :) It does leave me with a bit of a conundrum though, I wasn't wasn't going to keep the name Pleakly, but how do I explain to 47 children that their little Dino friend had to be returned...

Aww Crewella, hopefully Blue Belle never shows the same wear, I think they were twins too both of them were just a little bit different to the other Pleo's out there :hhug: How many other Dinos can boast gorgeous long eye lashes like Belle, and how many were manly enough to wear pink like Pleakly :D

Pleakly is on his way back today. He was all rugged up in bubble wrap for his long trip. Ended up going via Australian Air Express rather than by courier since there was a difference in price of $130 :P

Blimey - biiiiig difference!  :o

Not that Pleakly doesn't deserve the best, though, but it's not as if he'd have got a better box or anything is it!  I'm glad you had a good last day out with him.  :)

Maybe you could try Pleakly2, or Pleakley-with-an-e?  :-\

It's the same post though, they were both air express international mail, I was willing to pay a bit extra for the tracking provided with the courier but a little tracking number is just not worth that much more :P He has insurance so if something goes wrong I'm covered.

And I do believe this makes 3000 posts :o ;D
