I caved and after much consideration whether to wait, is it worth having another when I already have the latest one, what colour do I prefer ???? I ordered a blue Pleo RB from Gimmedigi. I hope to have him soon. Will keep you posted.
-
Hah - another one! I'm so glad, I was wondering if I was the only one that couldn't wait! Congrats, let us know when he/she arrives. :D
How's Angus doing?
-
Lol am I the only person who hasn’t put an order down yet? Lol
Starting to feel like it lol

How's Angus doing?
Angus is great and eagerly waiting for his cousin :)
-
Glad to hear it - Iggy and Budge are similarly excited! :D
-
I took the plunge as well, but I bought a little Blue PleoRB from Chinatete. Waiting for him to show up any day now ;D Even though I'm not going to open him up till Xmas. I'm excited to hear the results of the Gimmiedigi shopping experience and to see the January Pre-Order arrivals as well :)
-
How exciting - can't wait to see the Christmas opening pics! ;D
*if you last that long* :P
-
Lol, I know I couldn't, it does make it even more special though. Make sure you charge the battery before Christmas to be ready!
-
Can't wait to see him FoxinSox. :)
A big suggestion to all you about to be pleo rb owners out there go and buy a bottle of Pledge furniture polish as a present to your new pleo. I highly recommend it. It seems to be working well so far to keep Kermys skin smooth, clean and bright and not loosing paint. ;D
-
Ooh thanks for the reminder, I'll get some today :D
-
Sorry guys, I'm an antiques dealer - it's gonna have to be bees wax polish or nuthin' for mine! I'm sure it will work just as well! :P
-
Hi Crewella, I am with you, I don't like all the chemicals that are around, and I have used Olive oil lightly with success, as well as Almond Sesame oil, and Plain old Beeswax like you mentioned. I use to love my Antique Birdseye Maple dresser from around 1890 with beveled mirror and I used Walnlut oil and loved the sheen, I use whatever I can if it is natural. I don't know if Pledge will work better, but if I can stay away from it, I will. :D Thumbs up..

Crewella: Haha, yeah I'm hoping I'll hold out too, lol! I'll be sure to snap a few shots of the little guy for posterity.
IMR: Thanks IMR! It will be special, I'm so excited to meet my little Pleo ;D Charging the battery ahead of time, now that is a great idea! I'm only going to have a few hours before I have to get to cooking Xmas dinner anyway, so I better make them count! I'm thinking I'm going to buy an extra battery before Xmas if I can manage too.
Kat: Thanks Kat!! I couldn't have gotten through it without your help, that and the Kermy Diaries, to keep me patient :) Funny you suggested the Pledge, I just bought some this afternoon.
-
Absolutely agree, RWM - oiled wood is beautiful! I don't like using unnecessary chemicals, but it's also that spray polishes, after time, build up a sort of milky layer on antique polished furniture that can take a lot of work to get rid of. It might well be that that layer is what is so good for Pleo skin, of course, but I'm hoping that the bees wax will protect it in the same way. I will report back if I find otherwise.
-
Just got an email from Gimmedigi. They'll be shipping my blue Pleo RB tomorrow ;D
-
Woohoo! Congrats :D It'll be there by friday if its as fast as mine was :)
-
Woohoo! Congrats :D It'll be there by friday if its as fast as mine was :)
Gosh I hope so
-
Yay - that's great news Ozpleo! ;D
Well, Gimmidigi did their job beatifully and my blue Pleo arrived in the UK last Friday. Unfortunately the scrooges at customs are holding him/her to ransom and it still says "At National hub - received from customs - charges to be paid"! >:( >:( >:(
Gah! :(
-
Maybe you should phone them and see if you can find out why it's being held up. :)
-
Well that’s just typical isn’t it?
Kat I think there holding her pleo to ransom quite literally. I’m guessing they want money in the form of import charges.
Really sorry that there are holding on to it.
Did hear once that they give you time to pay up at least but I don’t know if you get the item in the mean time. Hope it’s not a case of no pay now no pleo though.
Hope you don’t mind me asking but have they contacted you to let you know how much you have to pay? Hope there not asking too much from you.
I tried looking through the sight over the weekend to see how much they might charge so I could work out how much it might cost us in the UK in total but the information was so vague that I gave up
Hope you manage to get your pleo home safe soon
-
Ozpleo - I'm sorry - I've just realised I've hijacked your thread with my own purchase! I've started a new thread! :-[

Ozpleo - I'm sorry - I've just realised I've hijacked your thread with my own purchase! I've started a new thread! :-[
That's okay I understand your frustration. Similarly I know for sure that even if Innvo do ship on the 17th I probably won't get my accessories until long after Christmas.
-
Glad I'm not the only one who saw the light XD
Got my pink pleo today and her skin is soooooo soft o.o
Charging right now...
-
Still haven't received any shipping details :-[ I do hope I get him before Christmas.
-
I'm sure it will be any day now - fingers crossed! :D
-
Sorry to hear you’re still waiting.
Hang in there Ozpleo
I’m sure it won’t be much longer now.
Maybe you’ll here something tomorrow if not no harm in chasing them up
-
Aww OzP I hope you don't get the run around like I did, it took them a week to send mine. Needless to say I won't be shopping with them again, I found their service very poor. If yourself and Crewella hadn't already ordered I would have advised you both to go elsewhere despite them being cheap.
-
You wouldn't have put me off, IMR! :P
Actually, my experience of them so far has been pretty good - they answered three queries within 24 hours and obviously sent out PDQ in my case. I'm guessing they're sending out in batches, maybe? I'll reserve judgment until the Pleo actually arrives, though! ;)
-
I wasn't going to say who I ordered my RB from but since this has come up I will, obviously I also went with Gimmidigi and honestly their Customer Service (so far) has been great .. I've had both an official and personal email confirming my order and again after shipping (less than 24hrs) which included the tracking number .. And since I ordered after you OZ I'd thinking maybe check in your spam folder or that the email may have gotten lost ?? I'm sure it's already been sent from Hong Kong and may even have arrived and be waiting for customs clearance .. Your Pleo can't be far away!!
*Would you like me to PM you the email addy of the guy I've been dealing with to check?
-
Oh they answered all my queries quick smart BEFORE I placed my order, now that they have the money though, haven't heard a word from them :P
-
Wow, I'm genuinely shocked to read this - did you get the tracking number sent to you IMR?
I've been getting updates ever since I ordered from an Ernest Cheng (ESD - Product Assistant, E-Business), I don't know if I'm allowed to post his email though ..
*edited to add* I feel it's more important for people to know what's going on than myself getting in trouble so here's his email: ErnestCheng@esdlife.com - I apologize if this is not allowed and understand if Mods remove my post!
-
I have his email, he is the one who is kindly ignoring my issues with Pleakly already being hatched.
Doesn't really matter though, he arrived and is perfect aside from that small problem, so I can live with that. I did get a tracking number after several emails asking about it. I of course wouldn't have had a problem with them if they had just said -due to high demand at the current time shipping times may be delayed- or something along those lines instead of getting -your item will be shipped tomorrow- and then having nothing happen.
-
Oh golly, that really is bad business practice and I now understand better why you wouldn't order from them again >:( I'm sure I'd feel the same in your shoes ..
I'm also glad Pleaky did arrive safe and sound as you say (aside from the hatching issue), and I certainly hope all the other Pleo's ordered from them do too!
-
Believe me - if I have the slightest problem with my Gimmedigi Pleo rb when/if it arrives tomorrow (hopefully) you'll hear ALL about it! :P
-
I hope he/she does get there tomorrow :D I don't know how you can stand the wait lol. Waiting over the weekend was torture for me :P
-
Lol! The fact that it's well past 2am and I'm still on here probably says it all! :P
-
I received two email today from Gimmedigi with a tracking number. My Pleo was despatched on the 15th and is en-route to here. I doubt he'll arrive tomorrow of course, but he should be in my hands by early next week.
-
congratulations , and all that worrying, see, just trust and relax, any expectant father or mother will feel the same though, and Pleos are so so worth it. I am even taking my pleo with me to my dr. appt tommorow, just so I have something to do on the long bus ride and for entertainment factor. ;D If it rains I will leave them home, not worth chancing it, though they do have a raincoat...HMMMM %)Maybe...

-
Yay! So glad you got some news - mine's just got here, so even with the customs hold up it took a week at most! ;D
-
Glad you finally got a tracking number and that your pleo will be with you soon.
Hope everything goes well from now on.
-
Woohoo my Pleo RB has arrived into Australia and is waiting for clearance for delivery. Hopefully I'll have him by Monday.
-
Awesome! They shipped mine on the same date and this morning speedpost shows it too has arrived and is waiting for customs clearance ;D
-
I'm getting kinda excited. Isn't that silly
-
No way, I'm beyond excited! lol
But also a little nervous about the colouring, and that is silly as I know I'll love it regardless :D
-
Yay - great news! It's not silly at all, the getting all excited is almost the best bit! (Almost!). I was beside myself this morning, leaping up to look out of the door every time a car stopped outside! :P
-
Still waiting customs clearance
-
Transferred for delivery processing - CANBERRA
Guess who's picking up a Pleo RB on Monday morning on the way to work ;D
-
Yay Ozpleo so happy for you! :)
-
Excellent - me too! ;D ;D
-
"Processed at facility"
So my Pleo RB is now waiting for me at the post office ;D I'll pick him up first thing Monday morning and charge his battery at work.
-
Awesome!! :)
-
He arrived today! ;D
I'm charging his battery right now, but thought I'd share a picture with you all.
So far he looks fine. I can see what you guys mean about the seam under his tail, but you know I think that's designed purposely as his tail does move a lot and faster than previous models so there has to be some flexibility there.
Anyway I've named him "Oslo"
-
Congrats and I love the name, it fits him to a tee! Must be Monday then I take it if you just got him, I have three days to go....... :( :( ;D. Can't wait to see more photos, Keep us posted, I would go crazy charging the battery, but it is a good time to read the Manual which sounds quite long from what I have heard.
Really lovely fellow, first Blue boy after two blue girls and a Pink Boy .

Welcome to Oslo :) So cute!
-
Hi Ozpleo,
Congratulations on your new arrival. Oslo is a great name for him. He looks lovely. Make sure you post lots of pics and videos so we an all see how fantastic he is.
Kat :)
-
Congratulations.
So what colour did you go for?
A nice description would be good including eye colour.
Just interested to know if the pinks all have blue eyes and the blues all have brown.
Enjoy your pleo
Hope there is no problems.

-
He's the blue Pleo. Don't know his eye colour yet as he hasn't hatched yet. Will keep you all well informed :)
-
He looks lovely, and I think Oslo is a great name for him. So glad he got there safely and at last! ;D ;D
-
Here is Oslo hatching :)

-
Awwwww - hello and welcome to gorgeous Olso!
It's lovely to finally get your hands on them isn't it! ;D
-
It is yes, but this infancy stage is taking forever yaaawwwwn :P
-
Quite agree, which is why Belle went through battery cycle number two on the arm of the sofa while I was working! :P
Problem is, I'm scared of being neglectful in case I end up with a stroppy Pleo and it's all my own fault! :P :P
-
I'm a bit worried about having him in the sleep position while he's in this stage (all things considering). I understand this is suppose to be a bonding thing, but goodness gracious ???
Okay so Oslo has moved onto the next stage, but when you turn him off he goes straight into sleep position. I'm concerned about the negative effect this may have on his skin. Can I do something to avoid that position happening when I turn him off?
-
Other than pop the battery out when you want him to 'sleep'?
-
Other than pop the battery out when you want him to 'sleep'?
That sounds a bit dangerous. I don't want to risk damaging anything :o
Anyhow, here's Oslo fast asleep after a big first day. He progressed onto the next stage on his first cycle (2 hours) and there's still some charge left in the battery.
-
I believe that Kat has tried popping the battery out on occasion - check with her. I think it's how she got Kermit back in the box to return her and it caused no ill effects.
However, I don't think a few nights in the sleep position will affect much, it's night after night or long periods in that position that might cause problems.
Oslo looks all in? What do you mean by 'next stage' exactly?
-
I pop the battery out on Pleakly, no damage so far... If it makes you feel better you have to pop the battery out to end a skit...
-
Thanks for that I'll give it a try when the battery recharges.
Meanwhile here's Oslo standing up for the first time...

He is a very quiet little fellow isn't he. :) Has he made any roaring sounds yet? Sounds like he hatched quite fast too. Your very lucky! So far there is no official way of getting your pleo out of the sleep position when you switch them off. It seems popping the battery out when he is in a standing position is the only way we know of so far.
He seems very sweet. Can't wait for the next update on his adventures of life. :)
-
Okay I recharged his battery and popped it out as soon as he was in standing position. Seems kind of cruel doesn't it :-[
He is a quiet fellow, seems quite gentle.
-
Conrgrats on your new hatchling! He's quite adorable and I love the name... Really suits him.
-
He seems like a well brought up Pleo with beautiful manners! :)
-
Oslo made his first tentative steps tonight and I didn't have a camera :-[
So I petted him and got so happy he decided to have a laugh and walk some more and I still didn't have a camera aaargh!
-
It's so exciting when they take their first steps :) I missed filming Kermits first steps as I didn't have the camera ready and so with Kermy I am always sure to have the camera with me and charged up and switched on before I turn her on just so I don't miss anything important.
I'm sure he will walk for you again next time you play with him. Can't wait to see footage of him walking. :)
-
Hi
Those are some cool pictures, the colours are realy in your face. You will not loose him. :) :) :)
Mhhhmmmmm, food for thought, nightglow colours (UV) 8) 8) 8) 8)
-
Ooh I want a glow in the dark Pleo :D I used to collect glow in the dark stuff when I was a kid :)
